Description on You Tube: In "The Descent Part II," G-Shock and freeride mountain bikers, Cameron Zink and Kyle Strait, traveled to Virgin, Utah to test the G9300 MUDMAN Compass' Twin Sensor technology, mud resistance and tough solar power while racing down the dusty slopes. The Twin Sensor allows the wearer to simultaneously check the compass and thermometer.
What that description misses is that Cam Zink just blew the doors off of riding and pushing limits - Thank you Cam!
Also take a look at Zink at 1:02! - he landed the drop crooked and wasn't too far from falling off that cliff. Those are the moments when you feel your body exploding from adrenalin!
I thought it was crazy to be hitting some of the jumps and drops at the start, straight, but no. BAM, and he casually backflips off the edge of the world. And lands it. Just. Whit!?
Guys, this is the 70 foot step down from Rampage 2004. Wypers drop was big, but no where near 70 feet. Stop comparing the two. Zink, you are a madman!!! Huge props.
I was just about to post that link! I've seen this jump in person and it's actually more of a massive step-down than a drop. Can't believe he flipped that.
theyll totally kill it in red bull rampage if theres another. alllllmost over rotated the backflip, i have nooo idea how he stuck that. it was awesome though!!!
Did everyone here fail to realize that that's the Bender Sender from the original Rampage? That was totally insane, but I'm really saddened that people no longer know where freeride started.
It's pretty sad but you've gotta realize how young current members are or how late they got into freeride... but anyways, Halloween, just rained the day before making it tacky awesome and Strait's suicide for the win. I can't believe this video... insane.
Yeah for sure!...there's the lip that Romo one foot tables, and the lip that Kyle strait suicides for the win and Bender supermans to no footer lander!
LOL i was getting pissed off for the same reason. I shit my pants when Kyle Strait threw his hands off this gap in 2004 (and when Romaniuk one foot tabled it!). People have no idea how immense this gap is... it's 70 feet out and 30 down...
Massive props to Cam for taking this sport to an even crazier level!!!!!!!!
I'm glad to see kyle got the whole handlebar camera mount thing figured out, last time he mounted a GoPro to his bars to film me, he ended up losing my GoPro in the middle of the woods haha, but sick as hellllll video!
Woooow that a big crash, imagine if cam would have bailed on that. Good thing he a beast and threw out the kung fu grunt to pull it in on landing. The angle look alot bigger from the bottm on that crash vid.
Holy mother of God !! That was soooo friggin sick I can't even believe that !! What an epic launch with the price for a fail being S-E-R-I-O-U-S !!! Just the launches and airs in most of this clip being beyond rad, the backflip, with an almost over rotate on the landing....and then saved it......VOD...Video of the Decade !! Peaty and Cedric have been my heros for years.....Cam is now in my top 3 list !! Nice job bro !!
wow thats one of the most insane things i have ever seen ...it could have ended so badly but worked out great. man all the props and respect to cam for sending that gnarly as hellz drop ...oh and also congrats on a great year
WHOLLY CRAP! I thought he was gone there for a second! He did well just to grunt, if I found myself about to over rotate on something so freakin massive I'd proobably squeel like a 8yo girl with a skinned knee! Massive props x infinity +7.89
Bigupps, that a hell of a huck. Not sure if they referring to largest backflip on a mountain bike but def not worlds largest flip off a drop. Here are a couple examples.
Hahah, "You need a compass..." I'm from 30 minutes south of Virgin Utah and have never needed a compass to find features! Sorry G Shock, but I don't need you.
the doctor said that the stuff would make me hallucinate it bit, i think thats happening, i just thought i saw cam zink back flip a big ass step down and not die...
WoW..! :O That's f-ng nutz..! I can't believe how far down the tranny he landed... Love that they included the audio so you can hear him when he stomps it...

Backflip-Drop was just insane!
Massive props to Cam for taking this sport to an even crazier level!!!!!!!!

I think I will, I wanna fund new stuff with the compass!
