Joshua Arcus is pretty young for this I'd say

Parents these days are pretty keen to get their kids into sport early!
  • 1 0
 Super aerodynamic at that age.
  • 7 0
Awesome to see Martin Maes returning, should mix things up a bit!

Anyone know if Mick Hannah is actually racing, or is he helping out on a team like Oli Morris etc have done in the past?
  • 10 0
Shout out to the fellow 80's babies still holding it down.
  • 8 0
How has no one mentioned Mick Hannah is on the start list? Holly shit Mick! Get some!
  • 8 0
Bex Barona running DH, good on her.
  • 7 0
Are the 3 Pierrons all related? Imagine that for a podium
  • 8 0
 Yes, they are brothers.
  • 1 2
I'd say there is a decent chance they are related, considering they all have the same last name and just happen to be on Commencal, I've heard that brands like to take siblings, like the Seagraves, and Athertons.

Nice to see Myriam Nicole on the starting list, it is a pity that Aaron Gwin is not there...
  • 4 0
He's commenting for the first four races, maybe he's not fully healed.
  • 1 0
@BikesBoatsNJeeps: There was a post about it yesterday - elbow injury means he is not up to full strength to race the rougher tracks
  • 1 0
I don't think pom pom is racing either. Some sort of thumb tendon injury. Sucks, I was stoked to see her back.
  • 1 0
@Struggleteam: sounds like she will be racing, or at least do training, qualis and see what happends

@edspratt why isn't Henry Kiefer not pickable in the fantasy league. Could you add him?
  • 4 0
I never had Tahnee Seagrave down for being almost 30! Interesting how many of the males are not young guns either. Is there lack of interest in the sport now with kids growing up around constant technology?
  • 1 0
The youth and juvenile Cats are the most subscribed Cats in DH, just rammed every single race. But admittedly when they hit Junior the numbers fall off slightly, not sure if that's higher education, finding girls/beer or other things.. You can bet the Britsh youngsters this weekend will be setting the place on fire with their speed... There's some proper proper quick ones there... i can't wait to see how they go.
  • 6 0
Greg...1981...could have sired 75% of the field of racers at his age. f*cking dude is unreal.
  • 7 0
 Could have.... or did. Hmmmm.
  • 3 0
Sorry if it's been asked but where can you watch the race live in the uk? Had a gcn sub last year but that's no more so do I now need Dicovery plus or is it on Eurosport? Cheers
  • 2 0
Believe it's both. I've just signed up for the Discovery+ app today £6/monthly today as much as it pains me to say it
  • 5 0
I tried to buy Eurosport in the UK last week, and it redirected me to Discovery Plus. £6.99/month, IIRC.
  • 2 0
I don't think anyone knows!! The XC was on Eurosport but there is nothing on the SKY TV planner about the DH, but on the Eurosport website it does have the racing listed but on Eurosport, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, although there are only two channels on Sky. I did hear on a Podcast that the Juniors might be on YouTube but there is nothing confirmed! I would be surprised if the DH is placed behind a paywall and the XC wasn't!
  • 1 0
D+ Its worth the pennies if you watch biking.
The XC was epic, the road riding epic too (Giro is about to start) and you get the Dh.
The BMX has also been on it.
  • 2 1
@Istillneedstabilisers: Live DH will be behind the paywall on the Discovery+ app, but I suspect the highlights/reruns will be filler on the Europort 1 and 2 broadcast channels amongst the grand tour roadie coverage, speedway, superbikes, and climbing WC. At least it should be when the snooker snoreson is done.
  • 1 0
You can get away with getting it for a month, watching 3 races and then cancelling. Do that 3 times at different points of the season and you cover all the DH rounds. That's the gist anyway.
  • 2 0
If you are a Sky Customer - you should be able to activate Discovery+ for free
  • 1 0
@ROOTminus1: snooker is the sport I get the biggest buzz off apart from DH. Weird.
  • 2 0
@BenPea: Life would be boring if we were all the same, but of the vast array of sports they cover on Eurosport, the only ones i've seen that I just can't get into is snooker and dressage
  • 1 0
Try Tiz.cycling They fast live streams for a lot of road races. We use it in the cars directly behind the peloton. They broadcast lots of eurosport
  • 1 0
@ROOTminus1: WTF!! I added Eurosport to my sky package just to watch the DH, and it's not being broadcast? That's bollocks
  • 1 0
@Davec85: I think the sky package for Eurosport includes the discovery+ app subscription, but don't quote me on it
  • 2 0
@ROOTminus1: Only if you have Sky Glass, Q or Stream I believe.
  • 2 0
@markcampbe: Cheers! Had no idea I had free access to D+ with sky. That's my Sunday viewing sorted now :-)
  • 2 0
@Istillneedstabilisers: I have Q but on the poverty spec package as I don't really watch TV so I'd not be surprised if I don't have it. Be amazing if I do.
  • 2 0
 @Istillneedstabilisers: @Davec85:
Checked with the boss and can confirm, we have Sky Q and the discovery + app is in with the Eurosport package.
  • 1 0
@DMEADE: You don't , You have free access to Discovery , But not Discovery+
  • 1 0
@rootsandrain: just noticed it's on Stan in Oz so signed up for a months free trial to that. Works with a VPN and hoping I can repeat the free trials with a different email address each month
  • 1 0
 @ROOTminus1: when's the dressage on?
  • 2 0
Probably a stupid question - and, if so, please forgive my ignorance - but when there are exceptional young athletes (such as Jackson, Asa, or others) is there a legit reason to keep them from racing with the "Elite" group before they reach a certain age? Yes, I know Jackson is running with the elites now, but why couldn't he or Jordan or Ryan or Asa or others race against older riders when they're already racing on the exact same track? Is there a legit reason for age groups, or should the "Elite" be based more on ability than on age?
  • 1 0
In xc they let riders move up based on results and the riders choice to do so. It's also U23 though so not exactly the same age groups.
  • 2 0
To let them develop without pressure.
  • 5 0
What is Deprela riding? A huffy?
  • 4 0
 Canyon Sender as a privateer
  • 2 0
@winko: gotcha Thanks! Did they ever release what happened there?
  • 2 0
@Struggleteam - maybe something he's not supposed to...
  • 1 0
@Struggleteam: officially there were some legal issues between his old and new contracts which does not really make a lot of sense as people have changed teams million times before and I dont remember anyone having any issues with that... Unofficially there were a lot of wild rumors of him going places he shouldn't have
  • 3 0
Great to see Asa Vermette is healed and ready to race in the juniors. Curious to see how he does on the World Cup stage
  • 6 2
 He will win it
  • 6 2
@stormracing: Dude is going to win Elite
  • 3 2
 @stormracing: I agree completely
  • 4 0
Only 10 people born in the 80's across this entire list. God I feel old.
  • 3 0
 No Rachel Atherton. Denied...
  • 4 0
She's taking the season off, I believe, but I saw some videos on her Instagram that showed she's still ripping in her free time.
  • 2 0
@eckljkr: yeah, every time I see a YouTuber at DYFI she there on the trails. Maybe she'll pull a shock win at one race like last year.
  • 1 0
I was just looking at my FL team and it showed that she was out for injury, so I looked for an article about it and only saw the release about the Atherton team signing with 5.10, so I guess she just isn't racing I was really hoping she would be racing, but now I'm gonna have to reorganize my team.
  • 3 0
Gwin factory racing riders Seth and Mikey?
  • 3 0

Is there anywhere where we can find a data base of the race times/results throughout the years?
  • 1 0
@eliotjackson might be the man to ask.
  • 1 0
 What do the asterisks mean?
  • 1 0
 U23 i think
  • 1 0
Yep, U23. Not sure if anyone cares in the DH world though - more of an XC thing typically‍♂️
  • 2 0
 * means U23, but with this being DH, maybe a ** signifier for over 35 would be more interesting
  • 1 0
Is Roger Vieira going by Douglas and representing Germany?
  • 2 0
Different Vieira I'm pretty sure. Roger Vieira had a bad injury posted on his instagram.
  • 1 0
 So Brendog actually retired?
  • 2 0
He took last year off to make Deathgrip 2. Maybe this year is dedicated to the red carpet tour...
  • 1 0
Please add Henry Kerr to the fantasy league!
