100%. We already know they can kill it on the longer form story telling format (The Pilot, Flying Scotsman etc). But man these race shreddits are just insanely good, can't get enough.
@scottlakesmtb this was the standard, back before red bull took over - every race there would be a handful of these awesome edits of real action from the weekend. This is what gets me stoked to ride, not 4 sections of track over and over with a couple of folk chatting... "And here's the next rider...oh and look they were faster there but slower at the finish. And here's the next rider...oh look they're going quickly." FML. Give me action!
@jokullthor: I'm normally out riding so if I only managed to watch a few of the free races, I'm not going to pay. And then the semi's have diluted my interest in watching the actual race process.
Amazing. So happy to see some of the podium celebrations after they were completely ignored during the broadcast. So many other great bits of footage. Peircy hitting that berm, Cummings through the rocks, absolute banger!
I guess that was the crash that put Kade out. One thing I would like to know is how that ended for Asa Vermette on the double drop, excited to see him at the WC races next year.
That said I'm not paying for something that doesn't work on my TV. I tried Discovery+ via Amazon Prime and every week was a mess, either no commentary (with really quiet on track sound - so effectively silent unless I put the sound right up), and then one week Elite DH replay just wasn't there at all. Also all the other (non-sports, but I'm not really interested in any other sports) content on Disco+ is pure jank, not a single thing I would watch otherwise.
@mattg95: talking about his use of "f*ck" every three words. it was nice listening to Oisin by comparison. Ronan is young he's just shooting from the hip.
@mattg95: Definitely disrespectful to the hard working men and women who build much of the work we interact with on a daily basis. Having said that, as a member of the construction industry, can f$%king confirm.
@AppleJack76: Hilarious, I saw GNR open for the Cult in the 80s. The crowd actually booed GNR off stage! Axel as he left stage: "f*ck you Calgary, we're NEVER coming back." And they never did...
Heard they aren’t coming back next year. It’s too gnarly for the new whack format. Hope I’m wrong. That track is a lot different from the F1 motorway styles in Europe. It lets those who excel in the slick and chunder have a chance to prove themselves, and it always shakes up the podium. Great place to race.
Snowshoe is a wild and wonderful place. Regardless if the race comes back or not, it should definitely be on any true shredders list to ride. Wild and wonderful. I live in the NW now and the trails are incredible, but grew up an hour from Snowshoe. If you want to check your skills in the raw tech thats a rad place to do it. No cell service on the mtn helps people disconnect and focus on the thrill of downhill and live in the moment. The entire community up there is legit too.
Do riders like Snowshoe track? It seems one of the craziest ones ever, really spectacular, but seems like a hell for the bikes and riders. The video was awesome!!!
The timing of the impacts to the music is just one thing that makes Sleeper collective edits such a pleasure to watch.
Hey Sleeper Collective - End of season full length edit (full film) like the old days? Mtb dh race films are missed dearly by us all.
Who would pay £10-15 for a full season edit from Sleeper Collective? Just me?
Good work lads
Sad, but also happy times.
Also, though he's no Rob Warner, I like Ric and Cedric is improving, also really great having Gwin on colour commentary.
BTW: it shows very well that once again, more of the nearest trees need (thick) foam protections. So many violent trees impacts!!!
So Stoked by this I can’t contain myself, just, just, can’t contain myself…..
Sleeper Co we need that movie
So good, that in the middle of a fairly crap Monday at work, this has made me decide to knock off early and go ride until I feel better
