by James Smurthwaite

bigquotesWhat happens when you bring two of the finest Slopestyle riders of their generations together for a Sound of Speed series video? Nothing short of pure magic. The Swedish duo Emil Johansson and Martin Soderstrom decided to meet in Järvsö Bike Park for some late season laps. Lucky for us, a crew of friends with mics & cameras were also invited to the party.Red Bull Bike

Finally a good video where I don't have to skip the first minute of goggle and Tacoma b-roll.

Agreed, I love the fun they are clearly having, but someone share a link with photos of the pink bike, come on it's a pink bike on pinkbike we should be all over this! Love that way it gleams in the late afternoon sun!!

This deserves the Must Watch tag
  • 4 2
Absolutely. This and Enarson's Right Here are the best videos of people riding bicycles I have seen this year.

 @mkpfaff: I concur

You mean it's possible to ride a downhill trail with a 69.5 degree head angle?
  • 19 2
God forbid that any of you good fellows would point out that those gents were rolling on anything other than 29" wheels as well.
  • 2 0
Heh, I was thinking something similar. If you take your downhill rig on a slopestyle course is it riding it like a bike park trail?

Also, that riding was awesome.
  • 5 2
Of course it is... but it sure doesn't hurt that all the braking bumps were removed before filming. (Which is not to take anything away from their AMAZING riding or great film-making -- jaw = on the floor!)
  • 2 1
I once rode my fully rigid dirt jumper on dhish trails. My dh and enduro bike were out of commission, waiting for parts. I wouldn't recommend it, I ended up running strait into a tree and bending my frame to have an even steeper head tube angle.
  • 3 0
 I mean 69° is 69° degrees
  • 3 0
What's the seat tube angle though?
  • 2 0
 @learningcycles: 78.5 on the P.Slope :0
  • 3 1
And what about the reach on those bikes? Unridable I tell you!

Looks like Semenuk and R-Dog are going to have to put another short video out now.
  • 6 1
Ya IMO that's the first Semnuk Raw100 rival I've seen
  • 25 0
Damn, Martin's still got it! So good, trails looks mint for mere mortals also.
  • 9 0
Martin always did tricks with amazing style.
  • 13 0
Ok. WTF is going on at 1:14.
  • 13 0
 We're landing backwards now... wtf
  • 9 0
@ryd-or-die: that 540 got me. I am really excited about seeing fakie tricks becoming more of a thing for big bikes. Always thought they looked cool
  • 8 0
@adrennan: Yeah it's a cool fakie. Just to be able to absorb the impact of spinning in a 540, and just fakie hop out is insane.
  • 6 0
@learningcycles: That half cab out looked like it could have gone so wrong...but instead looked so good.
  • 13 0
This is exactly what I think I look like when riding Crank It Up
  • 9 0
No obligatory “pushing the bike to the top of the mountain” scene, no stupid ass music. Just good old fashioned ripping from start to finish. The way every mountain bike video should be.
  • 3 0
I do miss the drinking coffee, loading the bike in the van, unloading the bike, putting on the goggles, drone shot of the area before riding part.
  • 11 0
Most fun I've had in my office chair all week!
  • 11 0
Loris killed it with the sound effects on this one!
  • 12 1
 Rowdier than free bacon.

Are they ridding 26 ?? is like a slap to the bike industry

360 sui by Martin...my favorite trick anyone does...its simply perfect every time.
  • 6 0
 3 tuck.
  • 4 0
@Neale78: thats the one. lol. These tricks are confusing to old guys like me.
  • 1 3
 @Neale78: tuck 3
  • 4 0
@JEDDE: Whatever. Its a 360 Tuck No hander.
  • 2 0
Yeah dude, no one does a 360 Tuck No-Hander quite like Martin does. I think its that giant wing span of his that puts the icing on the cake.
  • 9 0
So apparently I don't know how to ride bikes at all.
  • 1 0
 You are not alone.
  • 6 0
2:08 now THAT'S a barrel roll! Awesome vid- I can imagine Semenuk would approve!

/sarcasm
  • 3 0
I need to find a way to loop this and just have it rolling constantly, so freaking good!
  • 2 0
This is absolutely incredible. The sound of speed yes! ...and really enjoy the whoop-ing and hollering that was added for good measure. Great video!
  • 1 0
Martin is always having a good time. That is actually why he is one of my favorite riders. He still rides for the fun of it.
  • 4 0
Well, this wins the Internet today. Incredible
  • 2 0

100/10 - excellent riding and video work.
  • 2 0
Impressive skills! If they keep practicing earnestly, they could consider moving up to riding bmx someday
  • 2 0
s/o PB for keeping it real with their thumbnails vs the youtubes
  • 2 0
This seems more like a sound of steze
  • 2 0
Crazy! That 540 was insane. And the flip at 2:12! Boom Shaka Laka!
  • 5 4
Way sicker than anything semenuk puts out! They are actually having fun and it shows!
  • 2 0
That barrel roll off the rock.... get stuffed!
  • 1 0
I could do that.... the crash into a christmas tree bit! Unreal, crazy stuff. Just awesome.
  • 1 0
Dofinitely smoothed out the bumps. Järvsö is a cool park. They’re riding mainly a blie and a red run.

Such a cool vid!
  • 2 0
hey, Järvsö, trail updates look good Wink
  • 1 0
Although I do like the bike sounds, I did start hearing Love Grenades in my head.
  • 1 0
That trail was a mini slope course itself..wow!!
  • 2 0
 INSANELY STYLISH
  • 1 0
Such a fun edit to watch, nice job!
  • 1 1
I think this sick riding is responsible for the recent uptic in Sweden's 'rona cases!
  • 1 0
 This should win something!
  • 1 0
Emil really is the new Semenuk! Martin still got it too!
  • 2 0
 Scroderstrom!
  • 1 0
Those 26ers look like BMX bikes. They must be really fun and agile.
  • 1 0
 Aliens. They live amongst us.
  • 1 0
There is more (alien) life after Semenuk!
  • 1 0
This is a testament to Red Bull's athlete vetting process....bonkers.
  • 1 0
Well that made me feel horrible about myself.
