Standing in my kitchen about to sip some coffee. I yell out BRENDOG so loud that my neighbor has to walk out and see what all the fuss is about. I know its timed training, but that is awesome to see. Gutierrez looking super pinned too. Cannot wait for this race.

Gwin is a little off the pace. He is going to have to speed things up a bit come Sunday....
  • 23 2
he always does the same on timed practice, I don't know why he changed his tradition on the lasts two wc, but is tipycall from gwin to stop during the timed practice
  • 28 0
 Gwin holds his cards tight.
  • 5 0
 haha that he does
  • 1 3
 Gwin = speed things up
  • 43 0
I would not worry too much, from what i heard he had tires on so that might have slowed him down a bit...
  • 4 0
Must have walked down the course for his timed practice run.
  • 32 0
His key sponsor typically does his best work on Sunday...or so I've been told.
  • 6 0
His methods are a bit odd, but if that's what it takes to Gwin, then more power to him.
  • 4 0
Gwin just likes to get people's hopes up in the timed training then crush their dreams during his race run.

I've known Marcelo since he was a teenager and there are few as dedicated and hungry to win as him. He is constantly training and every race whether it's a WC or a local DH is important to him. This is a guy who comes to Crankworx and doesn't party in Whistler because there is biking to be done and races to win. Timed training may not mean anything but it's awesome to see him up there.

Hyped to see Fearon back up in the top 5, been missing him this season on the livefeed so far. Hopefully Stevie can improve on that 10th as well, make it back on the box this weekend.

Nice to see that Steve is back in top 10 in timed training!

Nice to see Manon rolling at a reasonable pace after that nasty crash at Ft. Bill. I love how wide open the field is this year. In previous years I always felt like the top spots were between a handful of riders but times are so close and the strength of the overall pack is so good I don't know what to excpect anymore (other than great riding). If only Redbull could loosen the leash on Sir Robert so the commentary could match the variety and excitement of the races.

 Go Marcelo! represent!

Is ratboy still feeling the pain of hitting that tree?? timed training doesn't mean much, but 62nd os something like that? he won Leogang last year!
  • 3 3
Have a look to the timings, many riders fell or just stopped their runs...
  • 5 1
Would love to see Marcelo take his first win!
  • 2 0
 that'd be swell
  • 1 0
I can't help thinking he's gonna be still feeling it a little... Can take (we'll me at least) a couple of weeks to get over a high speed tree hug... Just hope it doesn't slow him down too much... fingers crossed..

 Looking pretty good here -

www.vitalmtb.com/videos/member/THE-SYNDICATE-Ratboy-Helmet-Cam-Leogang,29066/dhgnar,18548

While I think he's still slowly ratcheting up his race day pace (i.e. lingering ankle discomfort & and recent tree tackle), I suspect he'll be a top 10'er if not on the podium come Sunday.

But like everyone else, I'm pulling hard to see Marcelo and Brendog on the podium (or win). Going to be a tough though with what I expect will be blistering runs from Minnaar, Gwin, Gee and Loic (and who knows with real "danger men" like Ratty, Stevie, and Blenki). Can't wait!

would be awesome if marcelo could take the dub
  • 4 0
 FUCKING RIGHT MARCELO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 3 0
gwin is smart if your are the first one on the coarse and not the last the coarse wont be all torn up and there isnt as much pressure.
  • 4 0
If Ratboy wasn't injured I would think he stood a great chance to win this. Money's on Gwin though.
  • 3 0
Anyone know why Loic Bruni isn't on there?
  • 1 0
I was wondering the same thing
  • 4 0
 No Loic Bruni?
  • 2 0
No Jill Kintner? Please tell me she did not get jacked up in morning practice.
  • 6 0
Jill hasn't raced this year at any other world cups, only racers in a certain bracket can do timed training.
  • 4 0
Thank goodness. I'm hoping she lights that place up come Sunday.

anybody got info on trail conditions? Is it still a mud waterfall?
  • 2 0
The pictures coming from the pits were of glorious sunshine. Should have dried out
  • 3 1
Why do they even time it ? ...
  • 3 2
I always presumed training timings are used to pick the order of when they have their qualifying run.... Would actually really like to know how that order is chosen If I'm wrong in my assumptions...
  • 3 1
Practice so the riders know how much work they need to do.
  • 10 1
Timed training exists for the benfit of the riders/teams. If you want to gauge your time the option is open to you. Timed training is also another opportunity for the event staff to test the timing equipment for the last time before things really matter.
  • 3 0
 Yea Phil!
