Standing in my kitchen about to sip some coffee. I yell out BRENDOG so loud that my neighbor has to walk out and see what all the fuss is about.
I know its timed training, but that is awesome to see. Gutierrez looking super pinned too. Cannot wait for this race.
he always does the same on timed practice, I don't know why he changed his tradition on the lasts two wc, but is tipycall from gwin to stop during the timed practice
I've known Marcelo since he was a teenager and there are few as dedicated and hungry to win as him. He is constantly training and every race whether it's a WC or a local DH is important to him. This is a guy who comes to Crankworx and doesn't party in Whistler because there is biking to be done and races to win. Timed training may not mean anything but it's awesome to see him up there.
Hyped to see Fearon back up in the top 5, been missing him this season on the livefeed so far. Hopefully Stevie can improve on that 10th as well, make it back on the box this weekend.
Nice to see Manon rolling at a reasonable pace after that nasty crash at Ft. Bill. I love how wide open the field is this year. In previous years I always felt like the top spots were between a handful of riders but times are so close and the strength of the overall pack is so good I don't know what to excpect anymore (other than great riding). If only Redbull could loosen the leash on Sir Robert so the commentary could match the variety and excitement of the races.
I can't help thinking he's gonna be still feeling it a little... Can take (we'll me at least) a couple of weeks to get over a high speed tree hug... Just hope it doesn't slow him down too much... fingers crossed..
While I think he's still slowly ratcheting up his race day pace (i.e. lingering ankle discomfort & and recent tree tackle), I suspect he'll be a top 10'er if not on the podium come Sunday.
But like everyone else, I'm pulling hard to see Marcelo and Brendog on the podium (or win). Going to be a tough though with what I expect will be blistering runs from Minnaar, Gwin, Gee and Loic (and who knows with real "danger men" like Ratty, Stevie, and Blenki). Can't wait!
I always presumed training timings are used to pick the order of when they have their qualifying run....
Would actually really like to know how that order is chosen If I'm wrong in my assumptions...
Timed training exists for the benfit of the riders/teams. If you want to gauge your time the option is open to you. Timed training is also another opportunity for the event staff to test the timing equipment for the last time before things really matter.
Somehow i feel sorry for all the guys who are now "at the top". Nearly two thrirds of the top guys are out with injury or seriously handicapped, and if they were riding, most likely those standings would look very different. Must leave a bitter taste knowing you´re only there because all the serious competition is out...:-/
Is ratboy still feeling the pain of hitting that tree?? timed training doesn't mean much, but 62nd os something like that? he won Leogang last year!

Aaron Gwin is 67th?
