That was weird but the price point and the new all black stuff from them really caught my eye. I like all black forks and shocks. One of my biggest turnoffs with x-fusion in the past was how outdated the forks looked, they didn't match anything.
@gclarida They clearly said if your fork is worn out you should get their fork if you want performance without spending a butt load of cash... I much prefer that marketing strategy to the BS lingo everyone else uses... I've definitely got my eye on both them and SR Suntour if I can ever get money together for a new build!
I hate salesmanship generally, I don't know why. You just auto feel like you're getting f*cked. "Oh yeah, greatest thing ever, yep, you know it, it's got ASDF-MRA, you'll be the bicycling Tony Hawk"
And I'm not trying to be a dick, and say that I'm better than the products, because often the products are extremely good, but I'm saying the consumer should be the judge of what they're buying, and not have someone candy flossing the butt crack of a piece of garbage, and it turn, you buying it.
That rep did x-fusion zero justice.
Finally, x-fusion sweep gets sexy. New crown, black stanchions, way to go.
So, now it works well, looks awesome, and is cheaper than the competition. Still not cheap, but performance for money value, we may have a champ...potentially!
@freeriderayward: They avoid that question like the plague. I'm thinking the forks been shelved as even their sponsored riders aren't seen testing them anymore.
@millsr4:They are selling a product that is supposed to keep up with the competition for a fraction of a price, some small info into what the fork brings to the table would be useful.
Dear Pinkbike,
Pictures and words please so I can come back and look at what I want. Don't fall into the whole video-as-an-article trap, please. Thank you.
Also for those of us at work with this squashed into a tiny thin window.
Scrolling through paragraphs and ninja glancing at photos is a lot easier than covertly plugging in headphones and watching a video which is clearly about mountain bike suspension without being noticed.
I heard really no real reason to upgrade further than the boost push marketing sjizzle.... And who really needs boost in a front wheel?
Oh wait... so when you upgrade, you need a new fork and a set of (carbon) wheels right? Cause they are stiffer also... and stiffer boost, and matching fork
Soooooo, almost nothing new. Not worthy of extra coin that's for sure. A damper tune = some spacers / some holes most likely. A new slider or chassis / same amount of material (new castings but those costs would be amortised through supply chain). Boost, 10mm wider. Not rocket science boys.
Boost royally f%cks me off. my wheels, frame and forks are perfectly stiff enough so why the f%ck would i want my forks and back end to be wider with slightly more potential to smash it on rocks.
I'm annoyed I have to change my hubs, but I like that it creates more clearance. Stiffness wise, whatever. Can't hurt but I wasnt dying from my 100mm hubs. I feel like forks/bikes in general should have always been through axle and mtb forks should have just been 110 from the beginning. I just hope it stays put now.
Yeah, I want consistent standards for everything bike related too. Like with my Toyota truck, if I need a new fuel pump or headlight, I can just run down to the junkyard and pull one off an old Buick Skylark or Pontiac Vibe. It doesn't matter. That's what's so cool about the auto industry; no proprietary parts!
I love it when I start to notice my Pike losing more and more travel, and then having to use the zip tie trick to release the air pressure. Why aren't manufacturers, MRP excluded, focusing on technology like this instead of minuscule improvements aka boost which does absolutely nothing for my 27.5 setup?
Is it me or does the Fox 36's Fork crown look....outdated? Seems like they could come up with a better design. Most everything else looks fine just the sculpting of it looks bad to me..
@DirtyHal: I see, how does the metric feel compared to the 36? I do have to say my Factory 36 RC2 is awesome when charged big and hard, I just ignore the little stuff.
The boosted Diamond has been available for quite some time. Like a year. But they do have three genuinely brand new forks that are not covered here. Oh well. The Diamond is a super nice fork in whatever standard, but I was confused why PB included it in a video called "New Forks".
Fox has really put the rest of the industry on notice. Their stuff may be expensive but damn, they keep increasing the performance gap between themselves and the rest.
@wobbem what about my spelling? Is it because I spelt please as plz. you haven't been around the internet that long have you? English is my third anguage but I'll still school you on your own language if need be.
Basic information about spring and dampers is marketing strategy/BS lingo? Wat.
Apart from naked girls like Marz did which imo was the best marketing strategy ever, bought more oleschool Zocchi before Fox fkd em than anything else

Yeah obvious ... but it will give a boost to their sales of forks and wheels ... oops... I saw what I did there...
Or maybe they were supporting 420 too much yesterday and this was the best effort they could come up with......
180 mm fork market quite limited to RS and FOX (
