Everyone has been saying they want a long travel 26" enduro/park bike with 20mm front axle etc. Kona made the Process 167 and guess what? No one bought one. Hence they still have loads left. Put your money where your mouth is.

Think it says more about Kona delivering the goods ..
  • 17 5
Process 167 is one of the best bike I rode. It was made side to side to first 153 and I preferred 167. It was pure 275 hype and fear of dramatic drop in value that has made 153 so popular. 167 could do everything just as well and even better in the park.

I've never heard anyone say that
  • 16 1
it's a 5k bike selling for 1.8k - it's specced with all the right parts too. if i were in the market for an enduro or a park bike i wouldn't waste a second and pull the trigger immediately.
  • 7 3
I think people on here talk a ton of garbage about hubs being five millimeters wider, but don't really care. "So you're not mountain bicycling's Tony Hawk because your hubs are five millimeters too narrow?"
  • 25 1
@Kramz: People are idiots. Mountain bikers are some of the worst fashion or anti-fashion followers. People clamor to have/not have new standards or to be seen to follow/avoid trends to keep up with modern/outdated systems to fit in with the crowd/look rebellious. Could any of these people actually perceive the difference in the standards they claim to live by? You bet your ass they can't.

@Kramz: meanwhile I was negpropped into oblivion for saying that worrying about 1-2cm on stem/bar is silly, an idea to research it as if it was front strut in F1 car instead of riding two options on a fkng bicycle is silly... mountain bikers are blind pussies. And the bigger the nerd the bigger pussy he is.

In matter of a year the resale value of every single bike in the planet dropped to peanuts and high end wheels were not valid for your next rig, and all for what? For no reason, just a crotch due to the poor quality of early 29" wheels. That's what pissed people off.
Cause let's be honest here, the change from 26" to 27.5" made no f*cking difference, at least nothing you can notice. Bikes have gotten better just due to geometry.

My old bike is 26"; my new one is 27.5" because I'm not stupid, not because I think 27.5" is the shit. I still happilly ride them both, tho
  • 7 8
Neg propped for bigging up Kona? So much negativity from fellow MTB'ers. Go ride ..
  • 3 1
@WAKIdesigns: can't believe I'm going to say it but I can't argue with you and you're right. It's a process how could it be bad.
  • 4 5
@Soupherb: this is stinkbike home of the negative knobs
  • 6 1
@Soupherb: The comment reads like you're suggesting that they didn't sell because Kona failed to deliver the goods. I'm not sure what you meant otherwise.
  • 4 1
 @codfather1234: @codfather1234: Well said.
Although it's really due to the industry pushing this narrative, people buy into it and then spend oodles on the latest of everything.
Look at what really good mountain bikers were doing 10 years ago with such "poor" designs and "inadequate" equipment. Progress is great but most of us are not anywhere near those levels one way or the other.
  • 6 0
@ButtersNZ: the 167 does do everything well in a park on wait for it

26 inch wheels
  • 9 1
I was going to buy the 167 since it's been listed at 1799.99 for MONTHS now. But the issue is after exchange rate (over 1.30CAD for every USD), shipping, duties and taxes, the bike comes in just under $3200 CAD. At that point it's not worth it to me anymore. 1799.99USD + 200.00USD shipping * 1.32 + 13% taxes + 6% duty. Canada loves taxes.
  • 4 2
@WAKIdesigns: I ran my process 153 with 26" wheeset for a year, upgraded to 27.5 and the only difference is a little higher bb. I'm a weekend rider and really can't tell the difference.
  • 5 2
Everyone who? People on PB that don't even ride bikes?
  • 7 0
@WAKIdesigns: I always thought you were a gigantic nerd.
  • 1 0
@wowbagger: No kidding... looking at that spec, you could probably even part it out and make a tidy profit.
  • 7 0
@Ryan2949: Where do you live? if you're in the Vancouver area, just have it shipped to one of those receivers across the border. Go pick it up and take for a rip on some fine Bellingham trails, get her real dirty, throw it on the rack and drive it back over.
  • 1 0
I'm assuming it's 1800 usd, but it said originally 5000 cad, and some things on here typically are cad, so I was a bit unsure. Anyone know for sure?
  • 1 0
@islandforlife: Unfortunately I live in Northern Ontario, nearest border is 300+kms away to Michigan (Sault Ste Marie) or Michigan again 700kms away down by Detroit.

I do have family on Vancouver island who works for... Hmmmm...

@mtbikeaddict , if you add it to cart, it says USD as well. I'd buy it right now if it were CAD.
  • 1 0
@Ryan2949: Depends who they work for because the $200+ in ferry fees you have to pay just to get over to the mainland and back in order to drive to Point Roberts to pick it up, may not be worth it. Actually skip Point Roberts, they are very savy when it comes to bringing product back over the border as it's the only reason anyone goes there. When I used to live in Vancouver and the CDN dollar was close to par I used to have a lot of stuff shipped there. I've had them take my phone and search for incriminating email/facebook/instagram/web history when I forgot to bring my receipts one time... worked out fine for me because I was doing everything above board and had online amazon purchase proof to show them, but if you're not and you get caught, bye bye bike. Those border dudes have crazy power and just love opportunities to wield it.

Just bought one when they started this sale. It rips. Selling my DH bike because 90% of the places I used to ride the DH bike I just started riding this. I figured if I didn't like it, I could part it out and get my money back.

So yeah...good deal.

Been eyeballin this deal for a bit. Ive had a 26" SC Butcher and SB66 and would love to give the 167 a try. Hopefully there will still be some left by the time i rasie the cash.
  • 1 0
@Ryan2949: so you're lumping exchange and duty in with taxes?
  • 1 2
@pipomax: I dropped it long time ago. Right now set it and forget it kind of guy
  • 1 0
@bogey: in ontario you pay 13% hst plus 6% in duty. Then don't forget the exhange rate.... Of course not everything gets hit with duty and taxes at the border. But i won't risk it on a 2600$ CAD purchase.
  • 1 0
@Ryan2949: Dang, same here. I was thinking about something tiny bit tamer, like a 153, but I saw this and if it were CAD, I'd buy it without a second thought. It's still a good deal and bile, granted, but I unfortunately don't have stacks of cash so if it's more expensive then something that better fits my needs... Frown Oh well.

@wowbagger: 26inch freeride bike hell yeah!!

I’m waiting till the A2 MIPS drops another $50 to $225. Then I’m buying 3.
  • 5 0
Well now we know where YT got their new paint scheme for the Capra CF pro from.
  • 3 0
Is that $1800 167 CAD or USD?! Excuse me for being a dunce, but just wanted to make sure. Smile
  • 1 0
I believe Cambria Bike is in northern California, so USD.
  • 1 0
USD, but still, that means it's a $2300 bike that used to be $6600!
  • 1 0
@islandforlife: Man, the CAD/USD exchange rate makes it look like someone is getting the short end of the stick..
  • 1 0
Has anyone ridden that Hanzz? Seems like it might be a fun bike park bike for places that are more mess around than search and destroy.
  • 2 0
The Troy Lee Helmet has the prices swapped. At least looking at it on the mobile version of the site
  • 1 0
I'd be shocked if their inventory in M and L size process 167s lasts more than 2 days at that price.
  • 1 0
Well they've lasted for about the last three years at not much more than that. If I loved in north America is have one immediately.
  • 2 0
The Kona is the best priced item up there! 26 ain’t dead....yet tup
  • 2 1
Sick deal on the troy lee lids. Def wanna pay more than it used to be off sale
  • 2 0
Kona - killer deal! Perfect set up who cares about riding only
  • 1 0
I would avoid Cambria just becaue they hijack my back button.
  • 1 1
26 ain't dead it just sneaks in to your moms room undetected!
