Another first this week: a bike riding a human down a rock face.

1:15-1:18 - that's the best fail ever! Also at the end, "What are you doing - No!" Big Grin

I watched, I scrolled, and was caught completely off-guard seeing this top-voted slice of accountability (at the time I got here). However, I now expect a Minority Report-esque preemptive post next week and new link fully operational on first deployment.

Succinct brevity. Well done @brianpark. Despite what you might have been told in the comments, I appreciate you.

My schadenfreude is having déjà vu

Guess the guy at 0:55 was hoping for a stair-case… hope he’s ok.

Pinkbike apparel team... When do we get the "Friday Fails.... You Good?" shirt? Just sayin'.

3 separate fails on the same drop? Where is this mystical place?
  • 25 1
That is the lovely land of Spider Mountain in Texas, USA. That place is the epitome of XC guys trying to ride downhill. It has shown a lot of people that the XC in central Texas requires little skill. And that you need atleast some skill to ride a downhill park.

 Ah Tejas.

@BMXJJ327: Texans are apparently as good at mountain biking as they are at skiing…..
  • 2 0
@wyorider: I wonder if there is an MTB equivalent of a "Texas suitcase"
  • 3 0
@wyorider: There are a few of us that break that mold. But yes, the people skiing in jeans are the same people sending that drop in the vid in lycra and a road helmet

 Gaperville, TX.

It was the opening weekend for that trail so everyone who shouldn't hit it had to try it!! lol Some amazing people watching at that place! They run adds on facebook non stop that read "ANYONE CAN RIDE" lots of v brakes and Asics can be seen in the liftline lol

That specific track at Spider Mountain is called "Sleep Tight". As you can see, it is aptly named for its geographic location. Wether for good or bad, the send button gets pressed often at the park. Friday Fails will never be the same.

People like to clown on Spider Mound, it's 350 footedness and the clientele. But that place has been spinning the lift every weekend for almost 4 years. Most bike parks can't claim that.

There are 4 clips in this video from Spider mountain . It’s got a good mix of trails difficulty. After showing this to my family I have been barred from riding this trail. I busted my clavicle there last year but I psyched that am going next week. oy -oy!
  • 2 0
 @jaytdubs: yeah, it’s an e-bike
  • 1 0
@TeamTrailParty: They should start thinking about re-naming the trail to "Fallar el Viernes"
  • 13 0
I love the international flavor of FF. I've learned to say "you alright?" in 10 different languages!
  • 2 0
Just don't copy the guy at 1:30 when in The Netherlands if you want to ask someone if they are alright. "Kut, kut" is translated slightly differently :-)
  • 12 0
 What are you doing?
  • 2 0
The way he says it is just fantastic, haha.

MIGUEL did not end up getting laid that night like he thought by bringing all the babes to the race.

 1:18 Full Geko is impressive.

Trees 4 - Humans 0 And Stairways show they could be a contender in the playoffs with a 2-0 victory, which was a lot easier than the score suggests.

Modern day Spider Man at 1:18!!

Definitely the highlight this week. Belly flopping a roller while your bike rides YOU to the bottom. I wish that one was shot from more angles.

Personally, I would like to thank everyone who died for this Friday Fails and still, somehow managed to submit their footage. Your dedication is to be admired!
  • 1 1
I'm all for progression, but it seems everyone is trying to throw advanced moves into their jumps (no handers, backflips, etc) without having their jumping fundamentals down. Progression is great until you're stuck drinking through a straw for the rest of your life.

@Smknjoe: Yea, the lack of Bark on the up-trail side was a dead give away.
  • 2 0
The last one in this clip, the guy taken down the boulder face by his pedal cleat, is the reason I switched to flats.
  • 1 0
Nice to see our only lift access trail (@:25) on Friday Fails. Spider Mountain is small, and the runs are short... but it's all we Texans have! LOL.

Holding that downward frog pose on the rock face is worthy of the FF HOF.

At 0:30 looks like an old school GT Zaskar or Avalanche. 26" still rocks if the rider delivers Wink .
