I usually don't respond with a post to all the haters, but I have been riding with Cam Zink since he could ride a bike. I am his Father. People forget that he has been an innovator in this sport and was the 1st FMB World Champ. He has won Crankworx twice, Redbull Rampage and many others. I want to know how many of you have had 15 surgeries, 4 ACL cadaver replacements, full length titanium rods in their tibias, ruptured their spleen twice, countless concussions, and still go out and perform stunts like this. This was Cam's 1 hour special on National TV, all about him. Yes it was a promotional stunt, bringing attention to the sport, calculated, measured, and practiced. It was not Rampage where he did the biggest flip last year, I might add before all of your favorite riders did. He is 28 years old and still competing, although his Mother and I wish he would go to the business part of the industry. So keep on hating and when you are out flipping and please don't get hurt. Go Cameron!!
@royhud- I don't think anyone here was hating, they were all acknowledging how insignificant their accomplishments are compared to those of Cam Zink, in a satirical way.
@royhud - we all love Cam Zink here. Not a single word of hate up. Do you ride a bike? Because what everyone is saying is how much they suck in comparison to your son and how trivial the stuff they do is - even if it was a decent gap trick step down rotate barrel ollie inversion flip no hander spanky wad doo smacker. Cam is King.
I know, I shouldn't have posted anything and for sure I should have tempered the word "hater". But you gotta admit that some of the posts are downright stupid regarding what this was all about. His Mom and I always worry because we had to endue his pain and suffering he had all the early years, so now, when he finally gets his day in the spotlight I couldn't understand the posts regarding what this was or wasn't. It was a stunt and a big show, all for MTB world and the FMB. I have been around this sport for over 20 years now, and understand how Cameron is viewed by his peers. As the bubbrubb said above this post, "that's my boy". signed Cam's DAD
I'm glad you did post royhud. I never knew about all the injuries Cam has been threw. But the stupid Cam hate comments always seem to get posted sooner or later. Makes no sense to me, how can people ignore the accomplishments of the most progressive rider of the last 10 years?
Roy,don't worry I don't get the humor of this millennial kid's either, they always feel tough with the keyboards. Cameron it's a Legend in our SPORT and he'll always be up there with all the top guys. When anybody talk's about the progression of Freeride Mountain Biking and what it is Today, Zink is one of the first name's that comes up. Your kid its just RAd!!!
Roy, I too grew up with Cam and Howie in Carson and have been able to ride with Cam in Northstar when I come back to visit. Anyway, nothing but love and respect for all of his outstanding accomplishments. What he's done to gain exposure for our sport is unmatched by any rider and the fact that he's still going bigger and bigger every year deserves the utmost respect and the support that you've given him over the years is truly admirable. Very cool seeing all the family right there by his side, Amanda, Ayla, Howie, Sarah, everyone.. I'm beyond happy for him, and the rest of the family!
cam is amazing! nerves of steel. my favorite big mountain rider to watch because of the risks he takes and the tricks he throws on the big jumps to make us love our sport even more!... WAY TO GO CAM! and family, because y'all must have nerves of steel just watching him do it... clap clap. hats off... (stay safe)
I don't understand - where's all the "hate comments" that are supposedly here? Were they deleted? Sithbike - since when have Zink's accomplishments been ignored??? By whom? Die-hard roadies?
@royhud thank you for letting your kid follow his dream. I could see a lot of parents telling their kids that riding a bike isn't a career path. He's an absolute blast to watch, and on behalf of all pinkbikers, no matter your wheel size, thank you
trustme backflipin 30 meters, it faaaar!! i mean i am lazy to go buy some shit in my 30 meters store from where i live, but damn if i could backfliped to the store
I was there and it brought a tear to my eye. Amazing experience. Watching him in person do the "nothing" was cool too, but there was something else that was special about this. A number times Kyle Strait was shadowing him, filming. Even while setting a world record, he was riding with a bro. That's what it's about.
Andreus Flip over the last 25m Flip in Belgium was much more impressiv! Speed wasn't calculated and he hit two huuge jumps just before this flip over that gap. Just my opinion!
Zink's step down flip was more impressive than both this jump, and Andreu's jump. But flipping 100ft, on live television, on ESPN, and you are the sole star of the show, and having it on your mind for MONTHS leading up to it? That's on another level.
Andreu had kinda calculated the speed before. They had asked a moto dude to hit the jumps first and then he followed the guy to have an idea of the speed he needed
Not exactly true: Andreu never followed the moto. The moto-guy crashed on the first day trying the jumps with his mountainbike (he's the guy crashing on the course preview video), and only got back on his moto on the last day (where he followed nico). Andreu just did the superman, felt like it, did some extra pedalling and pulled the flip. Not trying to take something away from Zink's, but he had nothing planned, no airbag, he just went for it (but they're obviously both awesome)
LOL, Lacondeguy is amazing but come on, he will never be Cam Zink. The two BIGGEST moments in Rampage history, two Guiness World Records, HIS OWN 1 hour feature on live TV on ESPN. Ask any random schmo off the street and they just might be able to tell you who Cam Zink is, but they will have no idea who Andreu is.
Yeah, back in the 360 from the sender, then for the Sender Flip, then for the 100ft Flip... Gosh she should have a 25 tension measure all along the year !
I was actually just getting on here to say the same thing. Weren't the LooseFest doubles like 21, 23, 25 meters? If so, then Andreu definitely takes the cake since he backflipped the biggest of the three...
Cam Zink, such an entertainer, such a sportsman, such a daredevil. He really knows how to put on a show. Thank you for having the balls, to lay your life on the line-all the time, to do one thing=keep putting MTB out there and make the sport look cool. You sir are an American legend.
You know you all are right all the preparation and weeks of practice maybe doesn't seem as impressive as in a competition but the fact that he did it on live TV coming off at 46 miles an hour and landing it so perfect on his first try its just pretty amazing you have to admit...
Been following Zink as a rider since he was a kid. This guy is a true Freerider! Consistently goes big and pushes the freeride bar higher and higher year in and out! Watched him stomp the 78ft. back-flip at Rampage last year and was blown away by that amazing feat! He will now forever be in the history books for his 100ft - 3inch back-flip on a mountain bike! He made it look effortless. So happy for the guy! ZINK IS A BEAST! The gauntlet has been thrown down boys!
you got that right buddy! first tippie falling off a side of a ski lift...now, cam getting crazy on a back flip! this lifestyle rocks! it's great to be a mountain biker...as long as you can afford a bike!
Sorry, I'm just non impressed after watching this... So much preparation, so many tries to the bag that it's almost natural that he landed it to dirt. That was waaay easier than his backflip of the Oakley sender and in terms of long distance flip I think that Andreu during the Loose Fest prooved what breaking the limits means: he flipped 80ft gap that was 3rd jump in a line right after sticking the crazy extended superman on the 2nd jump. This was highly calculated but the preparation process just killed the "WOW" factor of this move in my opinion...
Really?? he was going close to 50 mph at the lip.. 50! that is fast on a bike no matter how you look at it, so while it may have looked easy, that is a blazing speed and any type of bobble could be trouble..
olaffons I agree with you. It was made "just" to break the record which is awesome but in my opinion even Cam would agree that flippin the oakley sender was way more scarier and harder too.
So, you're saying me that Andreu didn't set a WR backflip on loosefest because of 5 meters ? Mega balls they have someone said. Rampage will be sick mtb is in another f* level
One of our local trails you hit about 45mph at the flat out section near the bottom. the thought of hitting a monster lip and pulling back for a flip at that speed is beyond belief tbh insane
Didn't Semenuk & Rheeder both flip whip a 75 footer at X, & then follow up with insane slope runs in high winds? Zinks meh flips are meh. :/ It's about time someone bothered to push an MTB limit a bit, but it's been a long time coming. 10 years ago I'd shit my pants. Now I can't even muster a silent fart with nary a smell.
Yeah, I love to have to google it every time, it's so fun...Especially when it's aimed at an international audience but let's see what James Randi has to say about it:
Not very sportsman like?? Even if what you say is true (which I don't believe for a second), competition is the heart and soul of progressing this gnarly sport of ours. I can promise you Kelly didn't watch this video with a pout, but rather with a shit eatin grin, and I'm sure it pumped him up to push himself even more. There's a lot of camaraderie in this sport, and friendly competition is a good thing.to complement that.
The flip is the single most boring trick to enter extreme sports. It makes FMX and Slopestyle less appealing to watch. What happened to innovation and combos? I would however like to see that "cash roll" thing done over this jump!
Unlike @kop5.
Tis a joke I say(about kop5 not cams dad)
Sithbike - since when have Zink's accomplishments been ignored???
By whom? Die-hard roadies?
I said amazing i got neg propped hahaha.. trolls
Just my opinion!
Next?

100ft gap flipped this.
Next year, Grand Canyon Flip maybe? Hahaha
This man is a Monster!
100ft = 30.5meters
grrr!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1noooYpnt5g
Yeah 98ft not bad. Watched it in slow mo, I saw him land before the line! 100 ft nxt time aye.
Is the line a 100ft
@jclnv gotta admit I agree.
