Gstaad Scott team manager Claudio Caluori is joined by Madison Saracen team manager* Will Longden to talk us down the 2014 Leogang World Cup track. Sit back, grab a cold drink and brace yourself for one hell of a ride!
*No team managers were (seriously) harmed in the making of this video.
Keep up to date with the latest from Claudio on Facebook and Twitter, and check out his track building company Velosolutions. Tune in to redbull.com/bike on Sunday 15 June for live coverage of the Leogang World Cup.
This video makes me wanna strip naked, burst out of my window, free fall 28 floors, faceplant in the snow, make a snow angel mixed with my own blood, shiver from the cold, get hyperthermia, DIE, go to the pearly gates, say wuzzup to Jesus, do our secret hand shake, look for buddah, find him, have him reincarnate me into a frog, meet a princess, kiss her, turn into a prince, order my subject to bring me a computer, watch this video again, and cry my self to sleep. Such a bad ass track .
Upvoted your comment while reading it. Then read again and tried to upvote again. Pinkbike didn't let me. This obviously is a bug and needs to be fixed.
And Lord Claudio ascended the mountain, whence he reached the summit. And from that summit the great Lord of Gravity surveyed the kingdom below him, and from that great height, offered his respects to pilgrims of descent. Finally, Lord Claudio started his mighty gravitational fall, and with great speed he slaughtered the way of the pilgrims of gravity. Finally,he arrived at the lowest point of the kingdom, and the peasants bowed their heads in respect of this mighty warrior. All hail King Claudio, they wailed, All hail the King! So the Lord became the King, and he became master on the throne of the game.
Haha there's a photo of that tranny in the track walk. I was thinking that someone could could have a big off if they misjudged and landed in that ledge. And will did exactly that. Haha....poor guy looked pretty brutal
I LOVE CLAUDIO'S COURSE PREVIEW!! telling stories on his way down. so awesome! He is really having fun...i can't help but laugh at his excitement and surprises. Thanks for that Claudio!!
Freak'in awesome incredible track this definitely goes on the list of must go to destinations. Love Claudio's track previews but this one was extra special loved it!!!
Schladming is hands-down the favorite track of the majority of the WC racers. They pretty much all flock there once Leogang is over. Saalbach/Hinterglemm may not be as well known as Leogang, but it's another rad spot close to Leogang that everyone likes to go to. There are also a handful of smaller ski areas in the surrounding areas that run the lifts and have gnarly, super fun natural trails rather than smooth, buffed out (or man made) trails. All with similar awesome views, which Leogang does rightly have for sure.
It's so awesome that it's the team managers, out of everyone, who are doing these edits and course previews. In some ways, these are the gnarliest, since they're going into unknown territories and conditions after course revisions.
But seriously, his previews make me feel like I'm there, so entertaining, so close to the ragged edge all the way down. Will must have gone down hard but just a few puffs and : "....oh. Forgot about the transfer." Meek as you like, great stuff.
I'm not sure Britain's Got Talent will be calling him back for his Foo Fighters rendition though.
Some days the chicken, some days... feathers. I would have to sit there 10 minutes contemplating going back to cross country after that hit. You young guys bounce. Us old guys splat.
Can't believe this guy gоt out of that crash with nothing. That crash was so gnarly that I almost got a heart atack. This track is gnarly as hell. Claudio is an absolute legend with these course preview series.
So awesome as always. Longdon's crash is pretty nasty, lucky to just stand up from that one! Must be all those years of practicing crashing (a long ago article in MBUK). Guy still shreds though, pity he quit racing so early on. Well WC's anyway.
impressed the way will longden, being a former wc racer remained calm, cool and collected aftert the crash. breathing calmly to relax, then "time to catch claudio"!
my fave is when the track gets really rough and all Claudio can say is "GKAH-GKAH-GKAH-GKAH-GKAH-GKAH!" ....although the singing was surprisingly good too all things considered!
Most of if the time I sing songs that get me pumped up while riding but every now and again a love song slips in and it seems appropriate. Props for the Foo Fighters.
I can just hear the guy who crashed saying "Don't look at obstacles, don't look at obstacles... Nice jump!!... Wait what's this on my way... Shit... I looked"
Track looks lame. Mostly slopestyle with almost no line choices. Don't expect Hart and Hill to anywhere near the top. Big riders who pedal hard will win this one. My bet is on Gee and Minnaar
*nudge nudge wink wink* Sam Hill for the win, start looks pretty off camber and the lower woods looks reasonable I think they've tightened things up a bit this year and if it's wet it will be even more likely that it could be Hills day.
I think the track is looking pretty rough in spots it should make for a good race. If it stays dusty like it is now I could totally see one of the aussie's taking it. Not to mention hill and brosnan are going to be coming into this race looking for a win.
The problem is, that one of the owners of one part of the upper track didn´t want them to have their track going over his property anymore so they had to improvise, They made a lot of effort to keep the downhill line alive, so i would´t say it´s lame it is different from most of the other tracks.
erik shut the fuck up steve smith won last year and he is the same size as hill. plus look at brosnan, he won at fort william and he is the size of a little kid
Still funny though.
That comment has been around since 2011.
Would read again..
:-D That was an awesome course preview!

But Seriously all of Claudio's course previews are pretty awesome! Also digg the singing, well kind of...
....although the singing was surprisingly good too all things considered!
Cracks me up every time
Gee: Nope. But Claudio will sing in Austria!
