Watch as Marzocchi / KHS Team riders Aiello, Spalding and Binggelli get sideways while testing their new bikes and suspension for the 2011 season at Bootleg Canyon.
Glad to see the hate is gone! Unlike RS and FOX who seemed to be bought by name instead of ride quality, Zoke really have to work hard and make it perfect in order to sell some. Hope these new versions bring Zoke back on the map and that people buy and try them. Any RS or FOX flaws have been forgiven by end users because they believe in the product. Do you believe in Marzocchi?
Marzocchi is doing great! They realized that 2008 was a bad year because of overseas manufacturing issues, but they have significantly improved their products. I think the 2010 and 2011 stuff is just as good as Fox, Rockshox, or anything else out there. And those new colorful 888s are soooo steezy.
The new marzocchi stuff is amazing! The 2011 888 is easily the best fork I've ridden, at least with the shims I have in it. Racers might see it differently, but for freeride, they're the best.
hopefully Zocchi can get their product back to what it was in 2006-2007....sure it was a tad heavy, but awesome nonetheless.
as for Fox, their stuff is good, but their CS stinks to high hell!
still a little put off by the fact that the only forks that snapped at red bull rampage this year were marzocchi... that being said i had an older z1 freeride and i loved it.
Marazocchi are bombproof, I have ridden FOX 40, Rockshox Boxxer and Marazocchi 888 dont need servicing every 20 hours of riding, Would recommend them to anyone who cant be bothered dropping the lowers off and replacing the fluid, But if you can I would go for the 40's or rockshox just feels nicer, no disrespect to marazocchi wo make some kick ass forks but 40's which i currently run are so nice I love em
about the forks snapping, i'm pretty sure most of the riders there (60-80%) were riding zocchis, and it just so happened that the 2 that binned hard on the front wheel were riding 888s
i can never get on with sealed carts, which rule rockshox and fox out. leaving just marzocchi. and you know what, i wouldn't have it any other way. id always choose marzocchi
(plus claimed weights make the 888 rc3 evo ti the lightest coil DH fork on the market.....)
I hav the new fox van 180mm fork and it is way better than my old 66's, The 66 leaked out the compression side and put oil on my front rotor. I had no front brake at Whistler!
I have a Marzocchi Bomber 888 RC2XWC from 2007, it works very well, sure it isn´t so light weight like a boxxer but it works better than it. Boxxer are to much hard, to much hardcore to fragil, my friend broke 2 boxxers, they suck
No matter how good they make their forks now, after having to send my 2009 55 in for repair 3 times now(For the same problem). I will never give this company any money ever again.
i have the 2008 DJ1, not going to lie, its a piece of shit.. but thats just because of manufacturing problems. buying the 2011 DJ1 this week! super stoked because their stuff is super legit now!
got an 09 55R. thats not even quite out of the bad stretch and its lush. lockout is pretty knackered but i never used it. apart from that the fork works perfectly! so smooth
It would be great for most all-mountain riders but if you ride in a bike park the lift does all the uphill work for you LOL. Still being able to ajust the travel is a really neat feature,
Have been on Zoch since 99' and it is the only fork I will spend my hard earned money on. Not the type of guy that wants to break down his fork every month and have leaky seals, so I cant ride fox or boxxer, been there done that. Any time I need service, the boys at Zoch always take care of me.
Another wicked blog Brule as always,it's a petty the vid can't be FAVED cos it was wicked.Heres a question for ya brule,or anyone else out their in P.B world.Has anyone got any pics of this current K.H.S rig,cos it loox unreal?I think i've seen her before but i'm not sure and would really appreciate it if anyone had any pics of this rig in the vid. Gary.
Probably the only person who thinks this, but i think it has VOD potential. Some of the shots where all 3 Team riders were following each other looked like a sequence pic but in video form
I broke my '07 66RC2 1.5 as the steertube became separated from the crown. Marzocchi upgraded me to a '10 66RC3 1.5, and now my steertube is starting to make the same creaking noize. That is separate from the internal 'click halfway through compression that I got from both forks. Marzocchi tells me that the internal noize is "normal" for a 66. I think that's a load of crap!
to dylandoe...get the 1 1/8'' steerer, it's thicker and stronger...stay away from the 1.5 stuff...the creeking steerers are mostly associated with the 1.5'' size for some reason
the marz forks all look great, but how about those new khs bikes? i really want to see one of those up close. you usually think not too high end when you think khs, but those frames look really good, and well designed. and khs is bound to be affordable too! definitely will be looking out for their release.
Awesome video the Khs guys kick major ass, and Marzocchi is for sure back on top the new Evo ti is by far the best fork on the market right now, but the real question is when are the new DH300s comin out? I cant wait to get my hands on one.
I switched form a Boxxer to a 888 a few months ago and I am never looking back. The 888 is very plush, forgiving, and has saved my ass on almost every ride.....in fact I went a little far on the road gap at bootleg and landed at the bottom of the transition and the fork save me from a bad wreck. The quality is top notch and there customer service is great! The fork has been great on jumps, berms, drops, and chunk as well as in mud, rock and sand. The only thing I would like to see changed is an addition of a direct mount stem.
I am sponsored by marzocchi. It was the best choice I have ever made. the marzocchi 888 is the best race fork I have ever had. I have the 888 on my demo 8 2 and rides amazing.
MARZOCCHI are the BEST right now!! I am fortunate enough to try em all and nothing comes close, you can watch all the KHS riders killing it on ZOCCHI this year!
marzocchi back at the best for 2011 and can only get better i think i run a 2011 66 rc3 evo been flawless from day one stiff and light also wich is bonus
KHS jerseys look so bad. So eighties mountain bike action style! This brand could definitively be more successful with their well-priced product if they'd have better design, better graphics !
wow... Marzocchi and KHS. The dream team, together at last.
retire your V-10's, kids... there's new hot shit on the pro race circuit!
...as the age old saying goes, if you can't make it good, make it shiny!
Not every mode looks like fish eye. setting 4 at 960 produces the fish eye. From what I have shot with my HD so far, setting 3 and 5 do not have any sign of fish eye. Here it looks like they went with the 1080p setting, or setting 5.
setting 5 (true hd) at 1080 has 127 degrees of wide angle on the gopro hd hero. setting 4 at 960 has 170 degrees of wide angle, not a true fish eye, but the widest field of view.
have to agree with that. Would be sweet to see someone ride that trail fast. I'm also amazed by the positive feedback on the Marzocchi brand on this site. I've had alot of zokes, and none of them required the maintenence that all the other brands do.
Hahahahahahahaha quite a few teams will be racing the 888 Evo Ti This season. Well see what they think of the forks soon in pretty sure. Pete is biased. He got a crush on fox and cant admit there are some more out there. Fox is good there is no doubt about that. Marzocchi 08-09 are proven bad ! But now the new one is a different story. Believe it or stick you head back in the sand !
bike frame technology from 2002, and forks made from child labor at gunpoint in taiwan... not a good combo. sick riders tho, vid got me pumped to go ride... oh wait, 3 feet of snow outside. dam

Gary.
Gringo.
Made by GoPro? But I don't think so, no fisheye effect...
So where was the cam? On a car?
setting 4 at 960 has 170 degrees of wide angle, not a true fish eye, but the widest field of view.
