It's not often that you get seven riders from different mountain bike disciplines shredding together in one segment. One one end of the spectrum you've got downhill superstars Rachel and Gee Atherton, and at the other end you've got slopestyle steez-cats Cam McCaul and Ryan "R-Dogg" Howard. Mix in a little bit of enduro and all-mountain riding from Andrew Shandro, Casey Brown, and Dan Atherton, and you've got yourself one heck of a trail segment. If this doesn't make you want to shred your bike, you need to check your pulse.

What’s better than one of something? Two of something. One is less than two. Therefore, logic dictates that two must be better than one. Faced with these indisputable facts, we realized that we needed to make a sequel. No one takes you serious in the movie business unless you make at least two of something—more is always better right? And this is serious business. Serious off-road bicycle riding business. So get ready for a whole lot of more. More antics. More deep thoughts. More X-treme mountain cycling. And more slow-mo... especially more slow-mo. Yeah... that sounds Not2Bad.

 Best Trek commercial ever! Wink

the hole movie, so i don't understand why you have to buy a comercial, even if is really good
  • 32 6
@tiagomano: Trek will be the big finance backers, hence lots of trek riders. this is no different to the ski/ snowboard and surf industry that finances movies too, using their own athletes...

it's not like anyone is "forcing" you to buy it, or even watch it for that matter...
  • 33 28
@ad15: i just think that if this is a solo trek movie, and being like that is obviasly financed by them, at least make it free because it is a comercial.
i will watch it, when it's free, whenever that is
  • 58 6
@tiagomano: i don't agree.. why should it be free just because it only features one brands riders...??

so you'd be happy to pay for the same movie if some of the riders were on different brands from trek? that makes no sense...

whichever way you look at it, anthill aren't doing this for pure pleasure, it's their job, and they have to get paid for it otherwise they'll go out of business.. Some of their income comes from the brands that finance the production of the movie up front, the rest comes from selling it after it's made..

If you want to carry on seeing quality MTB movies, then sacrifice the money for a couple of beers and support the industry...
  • 25 1
@ad15: I agree 100% with you. I work in this industry, it is how it goes. The athletes sponsors pay the film makers to put their athletes in the movie. Doesn't matter what industry it's in, they're all the same.

People need to stop complaining and pay the small amount of money to watch and support the industry and these companies. It's not like these film companies are making millions. Support the industry you love and stop complaining!
  • 14 5
@tiagomano: That's like saying that Trek should make their bikes free since they financed the R&D as well as the manufacturing of them.
  • 10 19
flag tiagomano FL (Jul 13, 2016 at 7:58) (Below Threshold)
@whilgenb: no, that's like saying they should pay for the movie if they are going to use solely as advertisement , when trek bikes and only trek bikes and respectable athlete's are on the movie it is a Trek mtb movie done by anthill and not a anthill mtb movie
it would be like grand torismo was made only with ferrari and ferrari driver's instead of the current form.

i didn't said that anthill shoulden't be payed for the movie, i said that as this is a trek movie it should be paid by them and intead of some banners, or as i received in some races a printed catalog of their bikes, they would make a sick movie promoting their bikes and their riders
  • 4 0
This segment was free. More to come I expect
  • 6 0
Better advert for Switchbacks MTB who are based over in Spain where this was shot. Ridden with them a few times, it's a great area and there a lot of fun to hang out with. Track is in La Zubia if you google UHG6oEEqWwM you can see Greg Minar riding it
  • 8 3
@tiagomano: That's exactly what they did, but you don't get it, that's cool. Quit crying, don't watch the film. EVERY Anthill film from the very first Collective film has been financed by industry sponsors; Trek, Specialized, Shimano, Hayes, etc... Pull your head out of your ass, stop watching tv,and go ride a bike.

FWIW, every film, every tv sitcom, every news reel, is paid for by people that want their product featured, either through commercials or direct product placement. THATS how it works. (unless you only watch and listen to public television and radio, but even they have sponsors)
  • 7 10
@mattsavage: was crying so bad that went for a ride, and now i fill better
you are the one with your head up your ass ,because i never said that treck wasn't a sponser or didn't pay them x amount of $, i know they did, as is a guy wears levis jeans in a movie they where a part sponsor too, i just said, that as it is all trek riders, and it is already publicity for them why not ivest a bit more and make it a Big comercial and sponser it all the way, would be much more afective in "calling" people atencion to the brand, and when people feel that something was given too them(wheter you notice or not) you are way more susceptible to go there(trek) and buy a new bike
  • 5 3
Pretty cool, but who was the guy with long hair riding in front of Casey Brown?
  • 4 0
@erbsforlife: you mean Rachel Atherton? Sooooo solid.
  • 2 2
 @conv3rt: "sarcasm"
  • 7 0
@erbsforlife: oops haha...nothing to see here, move along move along
  • 2 0
@tiagomano: they do what they want and maybe it is the wrong bet to sell the film. Less people seeing Treck bikes in action... Especially in my country where buying the moovie is not even possible.
  • 3 1
 @Oldgerald: yes, i know.
where are you from?
  • 1 0
@Oldgerald: It's possible they will put it up to watch for free on pinkbike for 24h in a while. Happened with a few other movies. But if you wanna watch it right now you gotta pay.

 Casey & Rachel!! So Cool
  • 12 2
Agreed. So good to see those two riding together. #radchicksride
  • 32 0
 Rach stomped that rock step
  • 4 0
Casey Brown can do a whip, that's for sure.
  • 1 0
Computer crashed, too much girl powah! Still, I feel like they could've had a Terrific Trek Trifecta if they'd managed to snag Tracy Moseley for this too. Ah well, ya can't have everything.
  • 4 1
 CASEY BROWN IS SO SICK!!!!!!
  • 49 0
I just used my 'this is awesome' comment on the Cam Zink vid.... Fiddlesticks
  • 60 1
At least you still got to use the word "fiddlesticks". I always thought that's what my grandmother said when she really meant "motherf*cker"!
  • 9 0
I've been found out..... Fiddle.... I mean
  • 7 1
My old Mum used the other 'F' word... Fruit !
  • 2 1
I was going to comment on the excellent use of fiddlesticks, but my canadian brother saw it and raised it.
  • 2 1
 Sorry canadia i meant murica.
  • 20 1
I'm fairly certain Netflix removed NotBad because I lapped it several hundred times too many, Totally wore out my welcome with that one.
  • 9 0
 There's bike vids on Netflix????
  • 5 0
They did remove it! I was trying to find it just the other day and couldn't, it was driving me crazy because I swore I watched it on Nflix the last time I saw it. Damn those bum heads.
  • 6 0
@nojzilla: Where the Trail Ends is on there!
  • 8 0
@nojzilla: Used to be, they removed SEASONS, NotBad and a few others. Not enough people watching them Frown
  • 3 1
@lurchh: No they removed it around 6 months ago, its a shame the reason I started riding was coz I watched it on Netflix when I was 14
  • 3 0
@Zelicanth: I don't think it's a matter if they were watched or not, TV shows and movies come and go from Netflix all the time. You can see a list of new and leaving shows at www.whats-on-netflix.com.
  • 1 0
@Zelicanth: probably not an issue of people watching, things get picked up a dropped constantly based on Netflix's negotiations with the studios and publishing companies. Definitely a bummer, there are several bike and ski movies that used to be on there but aren't anymore. Amazon has some though.
  • 16 0
Do people know that not bad is a movie about the c3 project which is a group of trek athletes which also involves other trek riders in this case. People seem to be pointing out that there are only trek bikes and riders in this but that's the whole point.
  • 19 1
 I see TREK people!
  • 11 1
this is the first time I thoroughly enjoyed the girls segment, well done!
  • 6 1
My favourite part of every internet video!
  • 6 0
All I really want is girls. 2 at a time I want girls. (Beastie boys)
  • 8 0
@properp: @properp: now THAT would have been a soundtrack!
  • 5 0
Watched the whole film last night. Not sure which one I like more, but this one could definitely be improved by cutting out some of the shenanigans and including more riding footage. Entertaining and worth a watch nonetheless. Rach completely kills this segment.
  • 4 1
Exactly my thoughts. After watching it through the first time I rewatched it fast forwarding to just the bike segments and its only 10-15 minutes of video. Still much better than the Aggy video, that was terrible.
  • 4 0
that idea of riders joining in throughout the segment worked better in Roam which is still a standout section of a movie even to this day. Pretty cool with the girls who rode pretty rad wheras the blokes were just working the bikes too hard and cuttying and roosting EVERYTHING! but you know, it's a free segment, and its rad simple as.
  • 1 0
yes, I totally agree. The women were way more fun to watch in this segment because they weren't slashing and jerking about, just being smooth and stupidly fast. I love being able to watch a rider and just say 'that person is riding the shit out of that trail/bike'. The guys were more like 'that person is trying really hard to make an exciting shot'.

That's part of why I enjoy watching racing, or even Semenuk's last video, so much more than 'freeride' edits. I don't care how much dirt you move when you ride. I just want to see people ride at the limit.
  • 3 0
Yes its in La Zubia, Granada - in our backyard btw. 2 incredible tracks there one for DH and the other Enduro bikes but you can ride both on either. Come and shred it with us if you fancy. Big Grin
  • 5 0
It has inspired me to get my TREK Remedy out and go for a hoon...... :-O
...laters
  • 1 0
Are they Remedy or Slash in that video ?
  • 3 0
@jefzed: Everyone is on the new Remedy frame. It looks like Rachel was on the new Fuel EX.
  • 5 0
I thought the guys bike at the start was squeaking thinking 'yess even the pros have bike issues' turns out its Di2
  • 2 0
Just bought the movie... the riding was off the chain and the camera crew was dialed. However I found the abundance of 4k slow-mo shots (especially the random ones of nothing) to be over the top and cheesey... very reminiscent of when 3D was becoming mainstream.
  • 3 0
I think every bike video I've watched in the past few days had the same shot at one point. Slow motion the corner, zoom in on rear tire, tearing sound, rocks flinging, whooossssh
  • 3 0
The free segment is incredible but after the official trailer am i the only one a little disapointed?
Cannot juge the whole moovie because not available in my country...
  • 1 0
Is it purly Trek bikes in the whole movie for real ? if so then i'd never buy it, nothing against trek but as tiagomano said that sounds more like a movie lengh advert. Oh and the music, waaay too much music in bikes vids....and seeing as some ppl dont like "certian" types of music they (me) would have to watch it with finger hovering over mute button.
Cant beat pure sounds of bike, track and rider!

Peace
  • 2 0
Woah. That segment started with someone actually RIDING up a hill. I thought it was mandatory that all videos start with someone PUSHING up a hill to show how badass they are.
  • 1 0
Great movie I bought it the day it came out. On another note I would pay twice as much for the movie if they would make a bike film that last more than 25 minutes, what happened to the hour long videos from the 90's? They do an amazing job but that long spent over there I opinion they could make it at least 45 min.
  • 2 0
Rad segment... me thinks Cam needs to get on that Bell tip with everyone else in the video. LOL! That red thing on his head is a monstrosity.
  • 3 0
I want to watch it so badly but I'll wait till I watch the whole movie
  • 3 0
This isn't up in Flagstaff is it?
  • 1 0
Could be.. But it sure doesn't look familiar. I doubt it tbh.
  • 6 0
Wasn't it all shot in Spain?
  • 13 0
It is definitely in Spain. La zubia to be specific aka Greg Minaar track!! This track is too much fun!
  • 3 0
 thanks!
  • 5 0
@toi1: It looks like the perfect trail. Despite the trek hate, I loved this little edit/section. A great looking trail that all of us could ride, with features that 90% of us could hit, thats fast, flowy, and not too bike-parky.
  • 1 0
That's what I was wondering!! Shame it isn't, looks super rad
  • 1 0
The Spaniards need somewhere to ride too! Razz
  • 1 0
@toi1: One of the best tracks I've ever ridden, so many lines!

LaZubia... such a fun and fast track. Grest to see a video with girls going flat out.
  • 1 0
You'd think that the link to the Full Video would be to the actual movie to buy. It takes you to a very racy Amazon search displaying a slew of innuendos for "Not2Bad"
  • 2 0
Anybody knows where that was filmes? The trail and scenery are gorgeous.

I'd like to know as well.

  • 1 1
@CloseCall: So flowy n humpy jumpy. If you get to ride here you are one lucky rider. SICK SICK and did I say SICK.
  • 2 0
@properp: LaZubia is ace fun. You are going quick right out of the start.
Such a fast uplift for a 5 minute track. You can get in over 5 runs per hour with ease.
The top enduro section is also great fun, even on a dh bike. Must be well over 10 minutes from the very top to the bottom.
  • 2 0
@betsie: i cut my eyebrows on this track. And loved it Big Grin
I miss Andalusia so badly...
