Words: Reverse Components

There’s not many riders on the planet that can ride with the untamed aggression, pure skill and full commitment like Andreu Lacondeguy. When the opportunity came up to sponsor him as part of the Reverse Components team, there was no choice to be made. Andreu, welcome!

bigquotesI was in the Alps last summer and I broke my seat, so I went to the shop and saw a Nico Vink seat and bought it, a couple of weeks later I was at Fest Sessions and saw Peter (Reverse owner) and he was stoked and we started talking and we got to know each other and I thought it was a perfect fit for me to ride for the brand. It's a brand that's pushing free-riding and supporting some of the best events and I'm pumped on all the parts and to be on the team with the other riders!Andreu Lacondeguy

Over 6-7 weeks in early 2021, Andreu with the help of Nico Vink, reshaped Andreu’s backyard (Translated from Catalan, "The Hole") into a dirt playground on a massive scale. Over 200 hours machine time went into the build.

bigquotesI got this property a couple of years ago, we built some jumps and everything, but signing with Reverse Components was the perfect opportunity to get my teammate Nico there, who I think is one of the best builders in the world.

Being able to be there with Nico and build the sickest set of jumps I have ever seen was amazing, being able to ride those every day and have those level of jumps in the yard will only make the riding better, I'm super stoked on the opportunity to work with Nico and how the jumps turned out!

The zone is filled with huge jumps, crossing lines, mega hips - it's a big-bike jump line designed for the biggest airtime possible.

bigquotesI first saw Andreu's backyard a few years ago and was mindblown with the amount of opportunity. The dirt is insane, it's just perfect. It's a dream setup for a backyard. The main area is shaped like a natural half pipe with fingers, it's super cool - the landings are kind of all in place and you need to build take offs. It was like building a big skatepark out of dirt.Nico Vink

Get over it you sad internet troll

Cool place, from what I could tell. There were so many cuts in and out of every bit of air time it was hard to keep track of any flow. Just being honest, even for a company promo that was a bit over edited. Love watching those guys ride but this was like watching teaser after teaser after teaser.

 it drove me nucking futs!
  • 7 0
I thought it was just me! The edit seemed very disjointed and a tad bit schizophrenic. The riding was great, for sure; i just wish the segments were longer than goldfish's memory.

Andreu, why are you not racing Hardline!
  • 3 0
Yes he should be! But damm this is some next level stuff riding, cinematography etc.
  • 43 16
Seems like a lot of media coverage…
  • 10 3
His whole MTB life isn't a private garden - just Fest. He still needs to pay the bills and he's on a Sick One!

What a great edit! Lacondeguy is by far my favorite rider and Nico Vink is not far behind.

Andreu is always just so ridiculously insane on a bike.

I think it would be interesting to hear how a rider like him is getting by. He doesn't really compete or film much anymore. Large social media presence? Another industry? I know he was pretty big in moto for a while. I'm out of the loop.

Keep going big Andreu!

of course they have to do promo videos, they are profesional riders!
but they dont wanna do stupid content in youtube, tik tok... is it that dificult to understand that?
  • 6 1
What part of Darkfest is stupid?
  • 1 0
@rifu: Its just preferences bro. im on the fence with it all, i understand both sides of the argument
  • 12 1
This needs to be a Must Watch,.... Goddam Andreu :0
  • 7 0
What sort of mobius strip jump line is this?

Also, does anyone in the world have as good of no-foot tricks as Andreu? Everything from a straight superman to his backflip combos is just perfect!

Awesome! Fest riders pushed freeride to new levels, fk the haters
  • 8 9
bit to much social media coverage here...........lol

Next time Marvel comes out with a superhero movie they’re going to have to get a little more creative with the aerobatics if they want it to be more impressive then what real people can actually do(these guys). This is next level! The two riders in this video look like a couple fighter jets having a dogfight! Unreal!

New Fest location?? Insane jump line and riding!!
  • 4 0
Congrats Andreu! What an awesome project and synchronicity to get Nico out there sculpting some massive features. The build is so creative. Reminds me of the Cruz fest location.
  • 8 1
When did Andreu stop being a redbull rider?
  • 12 5
When he spent a whole year without making a single edit, contrary to what other sponsored riders do: McCaskill, Wibmer, Soderstrom, Godziek....you name it. Maybe what redbull wants is some exposure in exchange of a salary, who knows
  • 1 3
Yeah, doesn't seem right without their lid. I'm going to have to get used to him without one.
  • 10 11
@Pichy: just looking for a when or why, was genuinely curious. Didn't need the smart mouth part of the response. I get sponsors want a ROI.

Being catalan myself too I ll say it's due to it's political show ups with Catalonia flag didn't like at all to the central government in Madrid who is running an international campaign with loads of resources for lobbying and pressure everyone... So when they saw this influent athlete showing up independence values/signs I ll say some black men from the deep state went straight to his main source of difusion and financing to diminish him...
Otherways who else loses a RB lid? Do you know any other athlete so far? And placing and doing good?
If someone nows first hand prove me I am wrong... Thx
  • 5 0
@PauRexs: Try Granieri and Messere. Hey, that rhymes, maybe that's why they both lost their helmets.
  • 4 0
@PauRexs: it happened to JD Webb, a profesional wakeboarder.. theres lot of info in the web
  • 1 0
@maxnomas: one of my good drifting buddies had a Red Bull lid for a season or two. Also short lived.
  • 2 0
@PauRexs: Bernardo Cruz? He rode for RB too.
  • 2 0
@PauRexs: Kyle Strait quite a long time ago....
  • 4 0
@PauRexs: Tanner Hall in skiing was a huge one.
  • 3 2
@PauRexs: your comment makes no sense, I get that English might not be your first language, but it reads like some conspiracy theory nonsense. Is there any truth in this? Also I'm not down with you saying "some black men", what do you mean by this? Randomly referring to someone's skin colour in a context like this with no reference to actual individuals or explanation as to why skin colour is relevant comes across as racist to me
  • 2 1
@everythingscomingupmilhouse: yeah sorry I realized but could not changed obviously I meanned men in black. Was really late at night for me... What a shitty comment I did. Sorry
Yes totally conspirative, my favourite Wink but if you would live here and have politicians at jail for their ideas...

Pretty cool of Niko Vink posting, working, building ect. content and what not for Lacodeguy
Doesn’t seem like you see to many people doing stuff like that .Looks like alot of work went in to this project. What an awesome combo, reminds me of a video Niko and Vinny T. did for the new Scott ,Gamblers a while back. Like a couple of balistic missles disguised as Bikes screaming through at warp speed

Was that whole diss the darkfest too much social media coverage thing for real? If it was they are taking themselves way too seriously . Yes they are big jumps but at the end of the day they are jumping push bikes. For a living…
  • 3 1

  • 2 0
 Holy sh!t.
  • 1 0
 that was awesome edit!

what helmets they are using?
  • 1 0
Nico is riding a Bell Full 9 and Andreu a Fox Rampage Carbon.
  • 2 3
aren't these two the elitist gatekeepers? and ontop of it they are now being hypocritical?
  • 2 0
Yes, they are listed as Fest Series founders in its website, but I don't see their names on the press release announcing the separation of Darkfest from the Fest Series. Personally, I would not call them "elitist gatekeepers" from some faceless press release. Vink is still liking Sam's insta post from this year Darkfest.
