At Cyclepath Kelowna we started the 2006 season by doubling in size to over 6000 square feet and in the process became the premier shop between Vancouver and Calgary. We underestimated how much growth we would have over the year and our already hardworking staff were pushed to the limit. So this year we've started the search for additions to our quality team earlier.

Britain's most talented young downhill rider has recently signed a multi year management deal with 23 Degrees Sports Management, a company based in Spain. Brendan, who turns 19 in January and will be taking to the 2007 World Cup circuit in his first year as an elite rider, is no stranger to World Cup podiums.

Both of our blue HUKKS were stolen off the third floor balcony of our North Vancouver BC apartment on the morning of Sunday November 26th, 2006 at approximately 6:00 am while we were fast asleep. There were tracks left in the snow of our bikes tires and the evil thieves’ foot prints. This was obviously a premeditated plan and was done efficiently and effectively. These bikes are very limited and unique and easily noticeable. They will be sorely missed by my wife and I and it will be next to impossible to really replace these limited bikes.

2006 was another year to remember for the Race Face Freeride Team and our International Sponsored Teams. Paul Basagoitia and Darren “The Claw” Berrecloth continued their domination of the Slopestyle circuit. Kurt Sorge and Wayne Goss strengthened their resumes and showed us they are ready to take on the challenge of playing with the big boys. Our international race teams, Commencal and Kona; both had stellar seasons and finished with a Crowned World Cup Champion.

Shortly after European bikeparks closed down for the season, Bikepark Leogang announces its highlights for 2007.

Last summer, the spectators in Leogang saw history in the making – the first ever double backflip on a mountain bike. In the year 2007, there is no telling what will happen in Leogang during the Out of Bounds weekend, the Kona White Style winter session or at the IXS Cup downhill race.

Phew what a ride indeed: starting back in early April in a rain drenched Californian Cycling Circus called Sea Otter to this past weekend’s season ending Fall Lunar Loonie in 20 degrees in Squamish, what a ride we have had this summer with Epic Riders.

So here is some news for all you frozen Albertans. Jared Jesperson and Andrew Pike are putting on a MTB Jam in a few weeks in Thorsby Alberta at the Indoor Park. By this time most of you will be so keen to ride and get out of the cold that it'll be a great way to enjoy a Saturday. Get ready to hit the road.

Last February Freeride Entertainment’s senior producer Carey Bokser passed away while skiing in the backcountry surrounding his Nelson, British Columbia home. Carey was a passionate rider, a guy who lived and breathed mountain biking.

The way he carried through this passion at Freeride Entertainment resulted in many relationships throughout the mountain bike universe: from riders to designers, photographers to marketing managers.

With Halloween just behind us, most of you are probably sick of Bottle Rockets. However this is no ordinary bottle rocket. This is a 5.5 inch travel free ride/ slope style bike, called the Bottle Rocket. A bike built for new school trails where stunts are big and smooth , but you may need to pedal up to the trail head. The Bottle Rocket is built by the rider owned Transition Bicycle Company based out of Ferndale Washington in the U.S.A.
