by Ed Spratt

bigquotesAbsolutely love this kind of event! Shredding with 150 guys during Red Bull Campo! I had to be a little aggressive to pass the maximum amount of guys before the finish line, easy goal, but hard to do haha.

So much fun, thanks to everyone involved. Next year I want to see even more riders
Loic Bruni

That kind of race would not work in Canada with everyone giving way to everyone else
  • 29 1
 epic apologizing!
  • 25 0
i'm not so sure, you ever seen Canadian drivers merging lanes...?
  • 21 0
@MinTheMerciless: Indeed. Car driving makes people dicks all around the world, including us. Shame.
  • 22 0
@MinTheMerciless: no i have not seen Canadians merging lanes successfully.
  • 26 0
It's basically a competition to see who can have the most French French-line.
  • 3 1
@MinTheMerciless: Dude, you should see the rest of the world! Whenever I have Europeans visit they're like "Wow, merging lanes actually works in Canada!".
  • 11 0
@racerxgrl: @9:43 he slams someone hard on the switchback then proceeds @10:03 he says politely to the same guy "excuse me" to pass. Lol.
  • 1 0
 @themouse77:
Come to a complete stop merging on and violently swerve at the last possible moment merging off. That about covers it I think
  • 1 0
@chris6-6-6: zipper merging as the Americans calls it works fine here.. Canadians merging into the flow of traffic onto the highway is laughable at best.
  • 1 0
@t1000: and Adelaide are the elite winners of woeful driving.
  • 2 0
 @tacklingdummy: so freaking hard
  • 1 0
@notthatfast: If you want to learn how to merge or queue, come and spend a week in the UK. You'll find plenty of other things here are totally hopeless, but we're REALLY good at taking turns.
  • 1 0
@watchtower: this is an understatement. I've driven all over the world and live in Adelaide now - absolutely the most shitful driving Ive seen anywhere.
  • 1 0
@Linkpin: You don't realise how good it is until you drive somewhere else!
  • 2 0
 @Linkpin: Big Ben Parliament..
  • 1 0
@JiminOz: Here in FL....it is good somewhere else. trust me.
  • 2 0
 @Linkpin:
I’m from the UK, that’s how I know Canadians are hopeless. Don’t get me started on roundabouts…

The future of your local trails if battery bikes ever get to same price as regular bikes.
  • 41 3
I think it is more like the regular bikes will get to the price of battery bike

 What a ridiculous comment
  • 4 2
So true...then the fun police will come in because...
  • 1 2
@ nedD lol, my regular bike costs more than my E-bike...
  • 21 0
Jesus wept, how many of Bruni's victims ended up cartwheeling down a ravine.
  • 23 3
Just like outside + subscribers getting pushed down to the bottom of the comment section
  • 17 5
 As they should.
  • 4 3
@KK11: I don't really get this - can someone explain the logic of it to me?
  • 3 0
@Linkpin: People don’t like Outside or the people who support them, it’s also a bit of a running joke now.
  • 1 0
@Linkpin: If you gotta ask, you obviously don’t know. Lol
  • 1 2
 @xxinsert-name-herexx: exactly.

Problem is some of us signed up to support Beta and that's turned into the Pinkbike sellout.
It's a weird deal signing up with one website, then another one sells out and I'm a subscriber there too.
  • 2 1
 @KK11: Well, yes. That's why I asked.

It is safe to say that this is more dangerous than World Cup DH.

It’s crazy that his sponsors not only let him race in this event… they ARE the sponsor
  • 5 5
He’s just a commodity to be used for advertising, they have plenty more.

Just your typical group ride from the Bay Area with less stopping

my morning news feed….interesting….Bruni doesnt have that off-the-bike running fitness that I thought he would use when riders clustered and blocked the trail. He sure acted like a dick in the early part of the video. still it was fun watchin him be a dick! you almost HAVE to be a dick to move up and pick off riders early on when there arent many lines. all those dry dusty leafy off camber benched lines kept him on his game and breathing hard! I liked it!
  • 2 0
That’s what makes it fun to watch.
  • 8 0
 French line 07:36 wtf?
  • 1 0
 Holy shit right!!!!
  • 2 0
theres french lines throughout the entire race lol
  • 3 0
the whole race is a single french line lol
  • 6 0
Was that Pompon near the start?
  • 3 0
 yes
  • 2 0
Yep! Around the 0:50 mark. You can hear Loic and a couple others yelling "allez Pompon"
  • 7 1
Are you sure this isn’t Pangor on any given saturday?
  • 5 1
I assumed Redbull would've canned this format after watching Foxhnt. Seems higher risk to the pro's than a WC dh race. I bet its an absolute rush doing it though.
  • 2 0
I flew over from the States in 2017 and 2018 to do the Red Bull Fox Hunt in Ireland. It was the most amazing time even though I had a spectacular crash in 2017 that was captured in a 10 photo set going over the bars. I had a blast, I finished the race, and I beat people. It was such an amazing time and I cannot wait to go back to Ireland whenever they have it again. I would have gone to race the Campos if we would have been allowed in the country. Loic is a cool dude, and the way he raced was anything goes. Big Grin LOL.

Did the guy be pushed into the stair railings survive??
  • 6 0
 Nice t-bone at 9:44
  • 6 2
Sorry - don't really get it but I guess everyone knows what they are in for.......
  • 8 0
 They even paid for it
  • 2 0
@pasteque51: i would paid twice that much
  • 2 0
Haha!! Literally one of my local group rides. Full of middle aged guys trying to out do each other. Lots of new riders get super butt hurt by it. Not for everyone, those who stick with it have a good time.
  • 4 0
This is like the hockey version of mtb racing. So much body checking going on.
  • 4 0
The ultimate French line from 7:36 to 7:44. The guy must've known the trails!
  • 4 0
No, he didn't know the trail. French riders have a third eye for french lines Wink
  • 4 0
he didn't go through the start gate....
  • 2 0
I was like that was a huge advantage to pass half the field right off the bat only to crash 10 seconds later.
  • 2 0
Thankfully I'm not sure anyone believes this anymore, but if someone ever tells you that downhillers don't need to be fit ...
  • 5 1
 This video should have subtitles
  • 2 0
There are some if you turn it on and watch on youtube
  • 4 0
Your school should have french lessons.
  • 2 0
Is the DT Swiss upgrade applicable to all of their hubs? I have a 370 on my 19 altitude C70, wondering if theyll upgrade it if I bring it.
  • 3 0
 Wrong post mate.
  • 3 0
Like watching a video game with each rider being generated to give Bruni something to pass. Amazing.
  • 3 0
His horsepower on the flat straights is incredible. Just blowing past people I assume to be quite fit!
  • 1 0
Honestly - I think in all fairness - he should have waited until they ALL passed through the RedBull start - what's the point beating dudes still waiting to get on track. But hey, that's just me. Love the chaos.
  • 3 0
I prefer Loic 's French, even though I Do not understand a thing....
  • 2 0
This reminds me of the jeep Atherton days, next he'll be racing a falcon or something.
  • 2 0
Redbull was doing this with the Athertons way before the Jeep days. I think they were still Animal-Commencal when it started.
  • 1 0
@wingguy: sorry I meant Geep atherton. Also here's the man racing a falcon www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM8tShcn-dY
  • 1 0
@wingguy: Red Bull Fox Hunts with the Athertons. Even Rachel and the girls had their own Fox Hunt.
The past ones are all over Google/YouTube.
  • 3 0
Where do I sign up for next time, I'm in!
  • 2 2
So, is there a name for this kind of event? It’s one pro racer trying to pass all the Jerrys before the finish? Do they run all the Jerrys back to the top for the next pro to try the same thing? What’s the deal?
  • 2 0
Check out Red Bull Fox Hunt on YouTube. It is a race that started in Ireland as a tribute to a local who was instrumental in trail building. At some point Red Bull got involved. I went over in 2017 and 2018 to race it. I was the only American there in 2017, and probably 2018. It was such a great time! I wanted to go to France, but United States wasn't part of the dropdown options to signup. Probably related to Covid.
  • 2 0
Do they all wear the same kit so they don’t know who they’re about to take out next?
  • 1 0
You get the jersey when you sign up for the race. Looks good on video.
  • 2 0
Did he almost eat it @ 6:10?
  • 2 1
That's what I thought, crazy skill to pull that off.
  • 6 4
I think Loic is having his mid-life crisis.
  • 4 0
@willdavidson9595 MLC at 27? He's won't be qualified to do that for another 23 years or so.
  • 1 0
 @Augustus-G: 27, I can't even remember that far back
  • 1 0
@UncleGrandpa62: 27. I sure can and I'm three plus decades beyond it. I've been blessed and cursed with Elephant Memory.
  • 2 0
You know my dude was hyped up, I couldn’t tell a damn word was saying.
  • 3 0
 Rubbing is racing
  • 2 0
What bike was Bruni on btw?
  • 2 0
 Like Road Rash on mtb’s!
  • 2 0
Wish America had races like this. Oh yeah land of the lawsuits.
  • 1 0
That's a long time to ride that hard. Holy hell your fitness level is through the roof.
  • 1 0
hitting all the mario kart lines!
  • 1 0
There should be a subtitled video, his comments are priceless
  • 1 0
I agree. I need to know what he is saying. LOL.
  • 1 0
 1:17 "Magnifique, Magnifique" awesome heckle!
  • 1 0
Okay I love how he encourages the others
  • 1 0
 wtf is that?
  • 1 0
 Freakish talent! Smile
  • 1 1
Super fitness, he should race more WC short track races
  • 1 3
I think he lost the race when he staid too long behind his girlfriend - but he saved his relationship at the same time!
