my first thougth was its bolted from the inside to the spider with the same bolts but non go trhu two piece, but i think its maybe a full one piece like on the XX cranks with the spider itself. i dont think its a simple cover.. look at the full size picture its totally flat.
why does everything on the internets turn into an argument. also whats with neg props for even the simplest comments or question? to me neg props seem like you dont like a person or a comment....most of the neg props i see are on comments that really dont deserve em.
Yeah that'll work. It just can't beleive its the same as a Voltage though, doesn't look the same..........
If it is, then they have produced one hell of an allrounder. Wonder what the weight comes in at in this mode vs the FR mode.
why is everybody freaking out about how sick this bike is?!?! you guys have seen plenty of pics of him on his scott voltage right? this is the same thing. shocks mounted in the short travel mount tho........
The video on this page explains, at 0.53 to 1.02, that "The benefits to having Kashima coating on the air sleeve come with having the Kashima coating on the inside diameter of that airsleeve."
i think they changed the stroke to a custom (shorter or longer than stock) one to change the geo of the bike, and most likely didnt have that stroke in kashima coating available.
i want those brakes...probably keep the rest of my Saint gear from last year though...wouldn't want to get a scratch on the new stuff......also, graphics on the cranks look kinda off.
Ok, tech nerd question: Looking at the rear derr on the bike, it looks like the B tension is WAY out. The upper pulley looks a mile from the cassette no matter the gear (bike pics or close up). Do Saint derr work better set up this way?
Looks like a saint logo on the pedals too. that would be a new addition to the component group. I hope the full saint wheels will become a production model.
The Saint rims weren't actually made by Shimano... And they were the softest, flexiest DH rim I've ever come across.
As for the pedals, there's some interesting new designs for 'Fairclough' pedals on the horizon, nothing to do with Shimano.
looks like they are covers on the saint cranks over the chainring bolts, similar to the xtr trails have atm, wouls make more sense than having them bolt directly to the spider, thats far too radical for shimano!!
Brendan's 4X bike. Ummmmm the last time I watched Brendo do 4X......
Just call it "we need a short travel bike to race the Sea otter BS track, and the Full Sus is to big, like EVERY other bike Company"
Next week be ready for the:

Look at that I just did 6 months of Scott Marketing.
Seriously.... This guy is one of the worlds most talented bike riders ( go ahead and attempt to argue that point) Scott Media people get a grip and don't think the MTB word is a bunch of idiots. Put Brendan's name on a market release and think that we will all go buy a Scott (feel free to use my 6 months market plan above at no charge). If you want to make sales you need to impress the MTB world. We really don't need to see pic's of de-railers, shifters, hubs, pedals, chain rings or cassettes .....
Impress us all with Brendan riding the crap out of it as we all know he can and DOES.
BTW: why is the chain guild covered in what looks like metal fillings ?
Agree! Rode it set up at 130 and 160ish and it worked great. I would say though that for 4X this bike in my opinion is too heavy/overkill - all you need in this discipline is a sturdy, nimble hardtail.

Loving everything but the frame. Don't know why but I can't bring myself to like anything Scott does. It all looks so big and chunky and their whole philosophy of 1 frame for everything doesn't sit right.
Might be a one race bike, though I'm sure it's fun to play around with.
Is he even competitive at 4x? We'll find out...This might put a little more pressure on him, especially since he won't be that great on the pedally DH course. Sea Otter is probably close to, if not World Cup level competition..if there were a World Cup 4X.
Why does Scott even bother making bikes. There's nothing here that even merits a discussion, just more garbage from a company looking to make a few bucks. On another note, the new Saint does look interesting, I'd love to get more info on that!

And yes, I did post this further up as well, but it needs to be in two places.
Kashima is a hard anodizing process, not a clearcoat.
