We use Slack as our workplace communication tool at Pinkbike and we have a #randoms channel that we use to share an assortment of videos and stories from all corners of the cycling world and beyond... We thought a couple of the moments from the past week were too good not to share with a wider audience, so here are some of the highlights.

 I'm old. I had to google him. Riding big ADV motorcycles like that in Moab is not easy.

 How to fix Enduro. Put it back the way it was , Stand alone events in great locations. F*ck live coverage , get the 30 minute highlight show and the world media producing great shots for pinkbike ect .

Anybody that knows anything about Enduro will understand the challenge of trying to get live coverage and the cost of it is huge . No bike parks just natural trails.

Let DH be DH. Let XC be XC , Let Enduro be Enduro

 The manufacturers need coverage to sell bikes, and the riders need it to get sponsorship and earn a crust.
If nobody's watching, it didn't happen.
If you limit Enduro to natural trails on remote mountainsides, it's going to be amateur hour. If you're content with that, so be it - but I'm sure the top riders aren't.

 I like the idea of full coverage for the last leg, but maybe choose a couple of additional spots to give highlights leading up to the final leg. Then get the crowds going etc. It needs to become more of an event to draw the people and $$$/

 THIS, this is the way imo. I miss the EWS post-race coverage and awesome venues. Ever since the the UCI took ahold and then Discovery ran with it, any post-video coverage has been lacking and venues have gotten more bike-park oriented. At the last race of last year, I actually felt like the highlight show and post-practice coverage was much better, so hopefully it keeps moving in this direction.

I think you summarized it perfectly @Ireland2017, let Enduro be Enduro.

 I personally would like to see the hard enduro (moto) series replicated.

Multiple rounds that blur disciplines, like an urban DH type round, a point to point rally like the Sone King etc. A mix of multi and single day events.

Hopefully it wouldn't come across as gimmicky but instead would showcase what very talented people are capable of on bikes.

I certainly don't, and I don't know anyone else that do either.
I was hooked on EWS, loved the highlights and features, followed it almost religiously, and I know many others who did.
Now, not so much.

 I don't think cannibalizing is fair - I mean we're allowed to have our own voices and I don't think we should dissuade editors or journos from offering their opinions, even if they go against other people in sister-titles. I'm sure some of them have read or listened to me and winced, and that's fine too. But who knows? Maybe somebody from the PB team might offer a rebuttal.

If a reviewer has the same preferences as you, then you (the discerning reader) can probably get what you want out of the review

 @Notmeatall: In fairness if I have to use more than one finger to use my brakes then my brakes are not working properly. I'll use two fingers sometimes, but very rarely. Maybe my fingers are just strong or maybe my brakes just work well?

I read bike reviews for entertainment, not because I'm in the market. When I buy a 'new' bike, I just try to find a dope frame second hand and build it up the way I want.

 @henryquinney: He's not a reviwer with unbiased opinion. When I search for a review, I expect facts, a professional description of what the product is, not what it should be. If opinion is expressed, let it be clear that it is the writer's opinion, not an order to what we all shoudl be striving for.

 @ohbmxer: I have a road bike with 105 calipers and aluminium wheels, and I use only one finger. works like a charm.

My trail bike has 26" wheels and 203mm rotors with 4 pot calipers, It's one finger only, and I'm gonna get 223mm rotors, because less pressure on the hands equals to less arm pump.

 Not a motorbike guy, genuine question: would the Ktms not have been much more appropriate in the fireroad climb video, and the 300cc way more fun in Utah?

 Super impressive riding on those big bikes, but crashing them on rocks repeatedly can get really expensive compared to a lightweight dirt bike.

These motorbikes should stay on a motorbike track.
I think motor sport should be prohibited in wild areas : it creates unbearable noise and soil destruction for the wildlife and any people passing kms around. And that's just for one "pilot" having fun.
Its like these a*sholes doing urban rodeo, I dream I could magically crush them like cockroach.

 @xalt: 95% of the trails in Moab (where they are riding) were build by uranium miners, jeepers, and dirt bikers. The famous "Slick Rock" trail was created by motorcyclists.
Stay away from Moab if you have a problem with motorized trail users.

 Dean and Simon's solutions to fix Enduro are just tinkering. Televising the last stage and trying to seduce DH spectators isn't going to fix anything. Situation calls for a radical re-think. I'm sure others have alternative answers, but I'd like to see riders doing laps with techy uphill sections along with DH elements. That kind of course would demand genuine do-it-all bikes as well as super-tough athletes

 That was painful to watch... I know CX people are gluttons for punishment but that doesn't even seem like a bike race. You'd be better off strapping the bike to your back and just running the whole thing.

 Are drones and operators still that expensive to hire for events? I figure you'd have two operators at exciting to broadcast sections and have them switch every rider. Rinse, recycle, repeat per stage. Constant media streams and with good announcers and modern split timing I don't think you'd be lacking excitement.

 Scheduling nightmare aside for Enduro/DH overlaps- what if they sent the enduro racers down the DH course as the premier stage?- already have the cameras, etc and be cool to see a bit of comparisons

 Trick question you buy three mountain bikes: a really nice trail bike ($5k), a solid used enduro rig ($3.5k), and a cheap(ish) fatbike for winter ($1.5k)

(Or sub in DH or XC bikes for one of those options depending on your local terrain, weather, and riding preferences)

 Why do torque wrenches even HAVE a reverse lever on the tool? Very stupid. I broke one not knowing this.

 For torquing things that are reverse threaded, or normally threaded but installed from the opposite end as usual.
