The all-new Slash is the trail bike of trail bikes. This long-travel 29er enduro bike is built to be fast, smooth, and fun in the wildest terrain. If your game is enduro, it rips while remaining light and planted on punchy climbs. If you're into park runs, Slash can deliver laps on laps of rowdy fun.—Trek Bicycles
@greg390: There's no reason not to have a steeper STA. As anyone with a 33"+ inseam will tell you, pedaling with a sub 77 STA sucks. And Trek continues to be a half decade behind on geo.
@greg390: nope.. But climbing is a huge part of getting to the shred.. At near 6'4 with that sta its a huge miss for me.. That and i cant see many shelling out 4k plus for dated geo.
to be fair the reviews have been good. Vital loved the bike. and they started their review by addressing the 'slack' sta which they said is actually sufficiently steep..... doesn't matter though, i'm not really interested in Trek even though there's a $4k alu version w/ decent spec. and no thanks on the thru shaft shock.
@WasatchEnduro: ya im just not sold on it either.. Norco and Yeti are the ones getting it right with geo numbers as far as im concerned going into 2021..
I'm getting the sense I can no longer blame my 29er wheels for my inability to be 'poppy', 'playful', and 'agile'. For a long time the PB forums told me it was the wheels, but it looks like there's a chance it's the rider. Now what do I do?
Look at some older R-Dog and Semenuk edits when they were on 26" bikes, then watch this. You can tell the big wheels are even holding these guys back. Which is probably why Semenuk's Rampage bikes are all 26.
@chriskneeland: and ur a straight up full fledged down syndrome retard if ur reading comprehension is that abysmal... Who said anything about tell the difference? If u think u cant style out on wagon wheels, well, ur stuck in the past.
@chriskneeland: haha guess u just pussified ur over lord and savior R-dog himself... Even he is on the big wheels now on the majority of his gram.. I havent spent money on wheels since 2016 homie - frame only for this guy.. Also, i got money to spend so who gives a shit..... Stop hanging on with ur stubborn stupidity and get a real bike.
@chriskneeland: haha no bitch wheels necessary but yet they all rock em.. Stop foolin yourself. I count more big wheel pics on each and every one of those guys accounts..
@chriskneeland: get off the drugs! His master class edit hes on the big wheels.. (Latest edit)... Was he paid to ride em there too? These guys can ride whatever they like man within their sponsorship... Ive had these convos with pros before.. Ur reaching.. Lol
@chriskneeland: haha so everything is a Trek commercial unless hes riding rampage.. Lol, that and slopestyle are about the only two times hes not on bigger wheels. He even rides bigger wheels in his non trek revel co edits.. Definitely not commercials.. Haha
@chriskneeland: lol.. Why is everything about rampage to you.. Like thats all u got.. These guys arent riding lines like that most of the time.. Hence the other edits on the big wheels (with style).. Stop being one dimensional home slice! These guys shred the 29ers! Haha
@bohns1: Because we're literally only talking about freeriders freeriding freeride bikes. Last I checked, Rampage was the pinnacle of freeride. So your argument that they ride 29ers at home on their XC trails is retarded.
@chriskneeland: no were not literally only talking about free ride bikes.. The argument was about ur simplistic views on what u deem to not be the pussified wheelsize.. There simply is no argument.. U keep citing dated articles that only suit ur agenda.. Free ride is a state of riding.. Not one event.. So ur bias is heavily flawed.. Lol... Dont see much (if any) on any of the riders u mention insta acounts riding xc trail.. But i do see many edits (not commercials) of all of them shredding the 29ers on burly lines and jumps with style..
Hell, smenuk even shreds his fuel ex with a pike on bigger stuff... But ur right.. Its all just propaganda... Hahahaha
@bohns1: Look at my first comment. Can you not read? Did you see any racers in this edit? You really struggle to grasp a concept huh? Man you're dense.
@chriskneeland: whos the moron ass clown.. U cant even distinguish ur own so called argument.. Hahah.. Ur bringing wheel size into it right out of the gate saying guys struggle e to make the big wheels look good and to check r dogs edits... Thenu go off on this rampage tangent later on.. Ur all over the map homie.. Dumb as a sack of hammers... Hahah
@bohns1: Let me bring you back to the topic at hand before you went off the rails. Freeriders (see video), freeriding 29er race bikes (see video), compared to the same freeriders freeriding 26in race bikes (see edits referenced). 29ers, clearly janky and limiting style. 26ers stylish AF. These freeriders (see video) actually ride 26 inch bikes (see links) when freeriding while not featured in a 29er bike launch commercial. Too much for your tiny brain to follow?
@chriskneeland: again.. Not getting it are u.. Think you need a tutor bud.. . U said death of stylish edits.. I said - go tell that to Kirt Voreis.. U said - gladly... The video at hand wasnt the tangent u went on about.. U went on about janky big wheeled riding.. I, clearly pointed out this is not the case any longer.. Hence the Voreis edits(that your simpleton self probably has not even seen).. I then point out further examples of the three aforementioned riders u cited.. Simply going onto their accounts and checking edits of them shredding with style on big wheels.. U then continue to dodge by citing commercials paid edits and referencing Brandons 2019 rampage session and so forth... Ur entire arguments are based on your own bias of what u perceive... So my question is.... Who went off the rails??? Haha
Lots of reading comprehension tutors on kijiji holmes. Lol
@chriskneeland: Nothing to get as previously stated.. Ur Entire rant was based on self bias.. But thanks for coming out anyways.. U can always revel in the past on those old 26 edits anytime u wish tho...
@bohns1: If you can't see it, you're either blind or special. Next you're going to try to tell me 29ers are as stylish as Semenuk riding his Ticket S in Raw V3 and V4. SMH.
@chriskneeland: wow.. U really got semenuks dick in ur mouth eh... Always using slope style edits as ur go to.. Haha.. I can see it just fine.. Many pros shredding the hell outta the big wheels on many an insta edits .. Let me guess... All commercials to u right?
Phill Atwill Jeff Kendall Weed Cody Kelly Kirt Voreis...
Just to name a small few that make sick edits on big wheels... Lets toss a Wyn Masters in there to... Oh wait, there not doing slope style edits... Haha
@bohns1: No moron, he's just the example I'm using to prove my point. Apply the same principle to any other rider on the planet you wish. It still remains true. And jesus christ. Of all the stylish riders to choose on the you really reached deep down the mediocre hole.
Yeah I've been trying to break out these big launches into more easily digestible pieces. Tired of people just scrolling down to pros and cons and missing videos like this.
only 1 of these does not have the saddle in the foremost position. I read about that for climbing and it is sad to see that they came so close but missed that one detail. I don't think Casey's seat can go any further. Perhaps a stem in the opposite direction. I love TREK bikes and find them the best climbers (except for my ebike :-)) but this is what would make me not purchase this bike (and I was seriously looking into it).
MOAR!
Just sick riding one after the other, no fuss and unnecessary shots- I could watch an hour of this, easy. Great clip!
And, apparently the trail bike of trail bikes is an enduro bike. Interesting....
Cool edit. I loved my (27.5”) slash while I owned it and I love session... but isn’t this a 29” enduro race bike...? Not sure the marketing matches the demo, but cool anyway.
Excellent video. Just would had loved to see Nicolay awkward euro style moves into tight corners and similars... so he would had shine on his own light.
What would be good is if these videos had energy values on the label. x flights, y gasoline, z avgas.
Then lets see your virtue signaling anti energy carbon consuming rubbish then.
and the only thing keeping me from shredding this bike like they do is the slack sta. for sure.
to be fair the reviews have been good. @greg390
I shred even harder w/ my seat at full extension.
100% damn right, that Norco Sight is Rad AF...

If that's who meant, Tom Van Steen rides for Hyper bikes - USA brand...
"We should probably sponsor this Kade dude"
"But all he does is ruin our f*cking shoes"
"Yeah but doesn't it look awesome?"
This gold/orange is brilliant!
Brandon: hold my rally steering wheel
Trek marketing: Enduro is boring, let's do flips and spins and make a video of it
This Slash works well on brand new fresh cut flow trails...

Is Casey Brown single?
Maybe they should ride some pansy ass trails for which their pansy ass enduro bike is an appropriate tool
