PRESS RELEASE: Industry NineWe could not be more excited to announce that
Yoann Barelli is now a part of the i9 Family!
It was an instant match! The integrity and uniqueness of I9’s products had me hooked! I love that the products are made in North America! The vibe of the brand makes me want to ride hard and fast! Such a rad team - I’m pumped!—Yoann Barelli
This year we wanted to put together a dream team of athletes that embody what we're about - from the riding, to their attitudes on life, and their interests and passions off the bike. When Yoann reached out about working together, that was the cherry on top! We are so excited at the opportunity to work with Yoann and his infectious personality, reminding us of why we ride bikes in the first place. He naturally fits in with the i9 company culture for who he is and that he is all about sharing his passion. Paired with our friends and long-time partners over at Guerilla Gravity - this is going to be an awesome year! Excited to get this party started!—Burke Saunders - Athlete Liaison, i9
Yoann doin' his thing - #smilesformiles
What's exciting to me is the outlook and mission Yoann brings to Industry Nine... Not only the 'marquee name everyone knows, loves and respects,' but also the inspiration to think in environmental terms as a driving principle. Whether reassessing our packaging, post-manufacturing materials we send to recycling, or minimizing waste and maximizing re-use and recycling amongst our staff, having Yoann on board makes us want to do better knowing we're also representing his mission of sustainability.—David Thomas - Sales and Marketing Director, i9
Yoann will have full access to
Industry Nine's renowned spectrum of wheelsets and stems. From the race-ready Ultralite range to the Rampage-proven Grade family, each wheelset in the i9 line-up is engineered to deliver uncompromising performance.
Welcome to The Family, Yoann!

His positivity and joy are infectious. I hope that he always has as much fun as he appears to be having.
The Cure was headlining and went on stage right after The Killers. This was back during peak Killers, and they put on an amazing, high performance show (should have been closing act). Cure gets up and you can tell they would rather be doing anything besides playing music. Their rendition of Friday I'm in Love was about the saddest thing I've ever seen.
At first I felt bad for them, they must have played that one song thousands of times! But then I remembered I look at excel spreadsheets and sit through unproductive meetings all day and still show up with a smile and at least some pride in what I do. They have hundreds of thousands of cheering fans that actively pay them money to see them sing and they still can't do it with a little energy and pride.
Which is a roundabout way to say that from what I know about Yoann (I know nothing about him!) he strikes me as a guy who takes pride in what he does. I'll bet he'd give you this level of energy if he was your plumber or your mayor, and definitely wouldn't half ass a version of Friday I'm in Love.
(Yoann if you're reading, Into the Gnar could also be a good name for a plumbing show if you change careers).
Yoan's "on" looks pretty genuine though... I don't think anyone can keep up that level of stoke if it isn't real.
He’s a funny guy with a positive vibe, I always feel happier after watching one if his videos: happiness is contagious, never doubt that.
Also that is a seriously quiet bike, the tyre/suspension sounds were very pleasing in this video. #iguessthatsmyfetish
I9 to Red Bull - could you dub our hub noise over every rider?
That's the sound of speed.
Great vid by the way!!
Was it the pure RAW speed and control that he showed throughout his riding?
Was it that his kit matched?
Was it his great line choice?
Was it his shopping obstacles?
Or
Was it that he was having fun during the video and you dont know how to have fun?
Wait... it's because his bike is not carbon, its recycled bottles and you are dentist who only rides carbon.... lol
Asking for 99.9% of pinkbike readers.
I am not negative proping you as every dentist needs his carbon frame to make him feel more of a rider
Thank You Yoann for being one of few who understand that it IS a compliment!
Where would this word be if everyone took it all too serious?
You are one of few riders who actually takes the environmental issues for what it is - and try to actually make a difference!
So stay true to yourself and keep up the good work!
