Can someone please explain to me why mtb shorts cost almost $200? How did we get here? Is it the material? Why did my wife leave me? Is gold sown into the waistband? I just don't get it.
  • 21 0
The high price is to distract you from realizing that there is no pad in it.

 Ceramic Coated Super Fabric, DUH
  • 17 0
@scottay2hottay These shorts WILL STOP bullets!! Not sticks, not rocks, not bike parts.....but they have been engineered to stop bullets. Whats that you say?? You don't need your biking shorts to stop bullets....I DON'T CARE, IF I HEAR ANOTHER PEEP OUT OF YOU I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU IN THE BALLS THROUGH YOUR NON-POC NON-BULLETPROOF shorts. Then you'll see why you need bullet proof shorts.

lol this is why I wear jeans and a kirkland signature t shirt from costco. the t shirt is because im actually sponsored by kirkland signature.

 @anchoricex: the dream
  • 7 0
The feature list on those shorts seriously sounds like an April fool's joke. How do you "pre bend" fabric?
  • 11 1
Can someone explain me why someone uses word "technology" in relation to shorts? Cut the bullcrap POC. I wear almost exclusively your products, love them, but this is PURE(R) Bollocks
  • 38 0
For that price the zippers better be Kashima coated.
  • 1 0
 @anchoricex: lol same

MTB is the new 80's fitness, and companies are trying to capitalize.

I got the resistance Jersey at half off. And while I would never pay full price for the shorts, the ceramic coating is pretty cool. Over cooked a table top to hard right. high sided and slid up as over the been and about 6 get into the woods. Shorts (fox) were ripped but the ceramic coating on the jersey really did just slide and still looks brand new.

It's 100% unobtanium. As for your wife, I don't get that either.

It's to pay the yearly salaries of the 25 marketing execs that each contributed half a line of bullshit features

If you don't have a wife you'll avoid a lot of trials, and tribulations. My mom is a hard enough crowbox.

Cost of living is very high in Sweden, so margin is.
Even if the material etc... are better than other, cost is marginally higher in vietnam/cambodia wherever these shorts are made.
  • 3 0
 Because people will pay it.

 What no intense bikes!?
  • 8 1
Don't worry, the Intense deals will no doubt be in the August deals post, which usually comes out around the same time as these Check Out articles.
  • 2 2
Yeah usually the bike deals come in-tens or more.
  • 2 3
Intense are on discount even in MEC now
  • 3 2
 "items under $300"
  • 11 0
 @Chris-Brown23: i know dude its a joke
  • 3 3
Read carefully it says what's "hot" for under 300, idk if intense qualifies.
  • 3 0
@gbeaks33: I'm personally wishing for the deep discount on the bullet proof shorts that @zepper was talking about
  • 1 0
@andydhteam: ah sorry, I don't get the joke
  • 1 0
Nah. They all shattered in the box on the way to the warehouse.
  • 2 0
@stereo87: Is there anything wrong with Intense bikes? I looked at the MEC sale recently and they seem like a pretty good price for a carbon bike.
  • 2 0
@rezrov: no they're great bikes, just pinkbike users like to make fun of them because they're usually very expensive and now that they're available at mec and other big retailers they're discounted at local shops to clear inventory for other brands. They're always listed as discounted in the monthly deals post.

MTB clothing prices are like being sent to a Federal "Pound Me in the Ass" Prison. Go ahead..I dare you to pick up the soap.

This comment needs more flare. ^^

Can we get some sweet shorts for like 50-75 bucks, and a sweet jersey for like 40? That seems reasonable to me for this stuff, not 160 and 70 bucks. Maybe I'm just crazy.
  • 14 2
I am Intensely disappointed at these selections.
  • 13 0
 $160 shorts? Yikes!
  • 3 0
Why is it that TLD is the only company that make a DH short with Velcro for foam hip pads? I hate to look like a TLD doll (like 90% of the other riders at any given bike park) but they make the only short that is capable of that. I did get some fully padded AStars shorts so I can use them with any of my shorts, but they are warmer, and all I really want is the hip pads from my moto pants. It's not that difficult.
  • 1 0
My One Industries shorts have that. I'm sure plenty of manufacturers do it if you look around
  • 2 0
My leatt shorts do....btw they were only $70
  • 1 0
@timsim07: @DHaddict82 :They never list it in the specs. Did they come with hip pads too?
  • 1 0
Dude, yes. I've had at least 2 real good impacts on my hips at the park.
  • 6 0
 All Mountain Style shirts? Serously?
  • 5 0
Not much of a deal here...
  • 1 0
Why is it that they make 3/4 sleeves for bicycling before they make a 3/4 right leg pant that doesn't get caught in your chain or greasy. Or even a pair of pants with a gear/chain protected lower right leg?
  • 2 0
If you cant pair that lezyne computer/watch to Strava... Then no good. What's the use for all that data? It's like you never even rode!
  • 6 2
 Meh...
  • 3 0
3/4 the sleeves, 3/4 the fun
  • 5 0
True, but it's still 50% more fun then a t-shirt.
  • 1 0
Went to REI four years ago and bought two pair of Novara baggies and still working fine. POC is just a name and if you want that on your shorts fine, not me.
  • 3 0
How do my breasts look if I stand like this?
  • 1 0
New magic Mary looks lush. Time to replace the shitty maxxis exo dhr2. Can't stand 5 flats in one weekend on rocky terrain. Not going to work for me
  • 1 0
Forget exo casing if you don't have tire inserts. But even with them, on the rear exo pretty much useless.
  • 1 0
POC, 160euros? I now have a reason to chuckle to myself at the riders who sport these, says the old man who wears second hand clothing....

160 euros, he he he he.
  • 1 0
I just got my Lezyne last week. Its cheap, and does the job well, but the menu system and displays suck.

PB needs to up the limit.. they have to feature a "3/4 Jersey" cause you can't get the whole one for under 300 these days..
  • 1 0
"puncture proof" is a strong claim by Schwalbe...
  • 1 3
For f*cks sake the magic mary is a pure-bred DH tire. It's sad Schwalbe is making it a part of the bullshit "enduro" marketing scheme.
  • 1 0
Hello.... enduro actually is DH and MM is the perfect tool bro, no BS.
