Its obvious Kyle Straight's is by far the nicest, just pure fanboys living in denial voting for semenuks bike
  • 36 9
Straight's is arguably the only good-looking bike in the whole feature, though the Canyon's OK too I suppose.

flag lacuna (Oct 15, 2021 at 2:44) (Below Threshold)
@chakaping: Not sure if serious... :/ The Rocky Mountain is clearly the ugliest but the Commencals are definitely runners up!
  • 22 2
@lacuna: The Commie is one of the best-looking frames on the market with those long straight tubes - and Strait's blue & white colour scheme is a breath of fresh air compared to most custom paint jobs.
Not sure about the fake rust bits, but it's still way better than the rest.
  • 30 0
I don't know man. Vinny T's Gambler gets my vote. Cleanest looking DH frame on the market.
  • 5 2
@BenTheSwabian: It's a great looking frame, for sure. Bit too murdered out though?
  • 14 4
Proper sucking Trek off as usual on here.
  • 11 0
I'm a sucker for Sessions with single crowns. Something about it just looks really good.
  • 5 0
I love the way it's a homage to old retro trucks but at the same time in old commencal colors!
  • 1 1
I thought Semenuk’s was the best-looking, but can’t vote for it as I feel the budget was not commensurate with most of the others’ bikes.
  • 4 0
 @nofu: Looks like a Slash.
  • 3 0
I like the toned down feel of the Scott Gambler. Minimalistic branding.
  • 3 1
@chakaping: Kyle's FRS is soooo hot. I'm not a huge rust look fan, but Kyle's light patina spattering on turquoise blue is sexy. It really pays homage to the quality patina finishes that are so highly regarded in hot-rodding. What gives it the win IMO is that little detail on the top-tube by the stem that reads "rampage xx". if that isn't the most badass thing you've ever heard I don't know what is.
  • 3 3
Semenuk for the 26" wheel love
  • 4 0
I’m diggin the gambler Tbh, but I couldn’t agree more with the fanboy statement. The paint job on Kyle’s bike is pretty damn dope though.
  • 1 0
@jmhills: If I'm not mistaken Redbull's build video said it is a 26/27.5 mulleted bike. That isn't a unique setup out there besides the ZEB up front, which is a game-changer but not the first time Rampage has seen a single crown. At least half the competitors have one 26 on their bike, which makes sense when considering the implications of tire buzzing at this event.
  • 2 0
Disagree about strait's bike but strongly agree about the fanboys
  • 3 0
@jmhills: Literally half the compitition has a 26" rear
  • 1 0
The second I saw Strait's bike I fell in love. Would have been 11/10 if they painted the fork lowers to match the same way they did on Andreau's.
  • 4 0
Ehhh I liked Adreu's Patina style bike
  • 2 0
I wonder why the choice of the Avid Codes over SRAM Codes, I personally like the feel of the Avids better but interesting choice.
  • 1 0
Haha, that was my exact thought
  • 1 0
@chakaping: it is look good at the picture, in person those dropouts ugly AF, at least in previous iteration
  • 1 0
 shhhhh
  • 68 0
Are we totally sure that Rocky Mountain isn't a re-badged Ellsworth?
  • 32 0
 That's quite an epiphany
  • 7 0
@Lloydmeister: For a Moment I thought some Rouge had switched the bikes over.
  • 5 1
 2001 Kona Stinky
  • 2 0
I'm quite dedicated to Ellsworth at the moment, I dare say that this would make a good upgrade if it came in 26"
  • 4 0
That one is my favorite simply because it looks like the Ellsworth's and Kona's I wanted when I was growing up.
  • 1 0
 Truth, God as my Witness...
  • 2 0
@jmhills: Indeed, I especially love the cnc work on the old Ellsworth bikes.
  • 35 1
Andreu Lacondeguy's YT Tues looks an awful lot like Commencal which it says on the top tube.
  • 12 0
 Don't telle me, i'm Furious
  • 1 0
YT put Commencal on the Tues?
  • 16 0
Good catch, thanks. We'll let Sarah off as she's banging out stories for us at 3am!
  • 3 7
flag gamonoso (Oct 15, 2021 at 3:36) (Below Threshold)
It's obviously a Furious, maybe an ugly one but a furious.
  • 1 0
more cuirous about the the "supreme" idler now being used as a chain tensioner.
  • 4 0
Don’t poop and scroll, sorry for the blank reply.
  • 5 0
@jamessmurthwaite: You should get Sorge's Evil correct too - it is an Insurgent, NOT a Wreckoning
  • 21 0
Ya'll know we're voting for the bikes and not predicting the winners, right?
  • 3 0
List should have been bikes only without saying who the owner was, although the single crown probably still takes it.
  • 13 0
New canyon Torque? It looks different from the one available today. About time it received an update
  • 3 0
yes, definetly different than the current model.
  • 4 0
 looks like spectral
  • 2 0
Yeah, looks very similar to the Spectral 29, but with slightly different linkage arrangement.
  • 5 1
As a current Torque owner/lover, here are my observations:

- 27.5 wheels still (but who knows, Rampage seems to be the wild west of wrong wheels in bikes)
- New chainstay protection. On the underside of the CS too.
-The seatstay into yoke looks like one piece, only with a guide link?
- SRAM UDH
- Water bottle mounts
- Boss on the underside of the top tube, likely for a spectral style box (please god no)
- Approved for dual crown forks obviously
- Replaceable threaded insert for forward shock mount (always worried me)
- Shitty plastic headset top cover and spacers (if you follow spectral 29 problems, the lack of stiffness here causes cracking noises and steerer wear)
- The cable guide/downtube cover seems to have been thrown out for more traditional internal routing (actually was one of my favourite features)
- Looks like rear geometry adjust at the shock mount
- Rear end looks carbon, but i could be mistaken
  • 11 0
Bit weird not to use the Sender at the sendiest MTB event of the year too.
  • 2 0
Well that answers my question. That is by the looks of it the new or at least a prototype Torque. It looks 95% like a spectral, but the link is a bit bigger, and the seattstays go on the inside of the link instead of on the outside like the Spectral. Looks pretty cool with the double crown.
  • 1 0
@JoseMPM: The fact it says Torque on it should give it away Wink
  • 11 0
Szymon's bike looks way better which is hard to tell from a photo here. Just look at it:https://nsbikes.com/rampage-weapon-made-for-szymon-godziek,621,pl.html
  • 3 0
Yes the fuzz is beautiful. The blue part could have been a little larger area wise, but in total it's the nicest for me. Those silver details everywhere, too good!
  • 15 5
i chose semenuk . all the rides were great but his choice to run single crown on a dh frame with a mullet is like the answer to the form / function equation
  • 10 1
Quite a few with double crown forks in an enduro bike. Semenuk doing the opposite with a single crown in a DH bike!
  • 7 0
Interesting to see a DH bike running an enduro fork and an enduro bike running a DH fork in the mix.
  • 6 0
I need a Transition TR11 in my life, I think it's one of the best looking DH frames ever made.
  • 6 0
 Tires we see:

Michelin — 5
Schwalbe — 3
Maxxis — 2
Continental — 2
Kenda — 2
Hutchinson — 1
  • 6 0
"Andreu Lacondeguy's YT Tues" looks very much like a Commencal. Curious.
  • 6 0
Dentists unite, we have to get the yeti to first place
  • 2 0
Commecals took it for me, from a painters perspective though, rust petina makes more sense if it’s on the high wear spots. Nailed it though on Kyles welds. Andreu’s directional rust stains(top tube) were on point too. Well done.
  • 2 0
I always like what Kyle Straight does with his bikes, I have similar tastes I guess.
That being said I give my vote to Jackson Riddle's Transition. The detail and the story behind it sold me.
1)Riddle
2)Straight (I like his style)
3)Lacondeguy (killer job by the painter on this one)
4)Godziek (This pic doesn't do it justice, that bike is dope)
5)Semenuk (well executed, just not my flavor)
  • 5 0
Andreu Lacondeguy's YT Tues is a little wrong.
  • 6 1
Sorge's on an Insurgent not a Wreckoning...
  • 6 0
 That Honda wing tho...
  • 1 0
 Looks bitchen
  • 1 0
Is it okay to say they're all kinda boring? For Rampage, I would expect World Champs level custom. Instead we get a couple low-key wraps and a pile of matte black. Blah.

I think I like Semenuks just because of the single crown. Looks like a mad enduro bike. Straits is pretty dope too, but I want it shinier (apparently I'm a magpie)
  • 4 0
I came here to say the same thing. Maybe not that ALL of them are boring, but I think the WC designs were way cooler. It's not like the paint job REALLY matters, but I'm surprised that an event with massive media coverage, and especially with a smaller field of competitors, doesn't see them going all out on some rad bike visuals.
  • 2 0
@MuddyBrit: It would be cool to see world cup level $ support for Rampage and an international event series.
Greatest show on 2 wheels yet for some reason it feels low budget and malnourished as far as equipment, event structure, hype, purse. Rampage should be somewhat raw, just wish it was developed more than a yearly season-ender frankenbike spectacle.
  • 2 0
Looks like a Session - I always thought that phrase meant a bike is looking very generic, with no distinct features… only now I learn the pinkbikers actually love that look.
  • 1 0
I maybe be bias (because I own one) but the Commencals have some of the nicest lines for DH / FR bikes. Reed's Yeti is also a good looking bike, but riding one at rampage feels too close to going out in the Utah desert and throwing bags of money off a cliff.
  • 1 0
I love Lyle’s bike. The custom color Onyx hubs are just the icing on the cake. And it my size, so in my imagination I could pretty much ride it with Mr. Strait. Although I would be in the er or grave if I actually tried to ride rampage.
  • 1 0
Non of the complete bike builds woo me, either fork choice, wheels, crank etc, but then I'm a special case. The NS Fuzz for its frame only, colour and its aluminium, though the frame shape on the Transition TR11 is more appealing, but I'm no fan of carbon frames.
  • 3 1
Dare I say it but that Canyon's shape is the cleanest. But If I had to choose one for me it would be the Transition with a different paint job...
  • 3 0
are we sure that andreu's commencal is yt Tues?
  • 3 0
Why are so many riders not running chain retention devices?
  • 1 0
Make yourself happy again! Get some Michelin dh22!! Nearly 40% of this bike are landing on it...yep heavier than you know who.. but they never let you down.
  • 1 0
Sooo there's a New Canyon Torque, right? this one has a bottle holder Inside the frame and looks different from the current one on the website Big Grin
  • 3 0
loving Cam out of focus Tues
  • 3 0
Whats with the "2016" tues of Zink?
  • 2 1
 No frame sponsor.
  • 6 0
@chakaping: or that he's said he actually prefers the older frame.....
  • 1 0
@nojzilla: It does look better, but IIRC he doesn't have a frame sponsor now and the lack of branding would appear to support that.
  • 1 1
Looks totally "Retail ready"... even the photographer didn't mind and took the shot even if his hands were shaking...
  • 3 0
@chakaping: check the bike review video. He's says in his own words he prefers the ramp up of the older frame (before Gwin changed it for racing) he's working on frame designs for a potential sponsor atm
  • 1 0
P.S he did say too that he cracked it in his crash an they built up another.. so let's see what he drops in on...
  • 1 0
@chakaping: aha, missed that! shame that he's without a frame sponsor
  • 1 0
@valanidi: He's working on something with a new frame sponsor and he's not made himself the most attractive ambassador in the last couple years with his Stories. At least YT still flows him frames and I voted for his Old Black 26" TUES because it's cvlt AF even though I don't agree with some of his political views.
  • 2 0
@suspended-flesh: i see... being a social media ape (not on insta / fb etc) had no clue on that
  • 2 0
The Wreckoning is a 29'r, I wonder if Sorge is running a DH style mullet set up or it's a custom 27.5?
  • 5 0
Its not a wreckoning. He's running an Insurgent frame which comes as a 27.5 rear. Sick looking rig! Love Evil
  • 1 0
@tex-avery: Correct PB got it Wrong! Insurgent v3
  • 1 1
Really, people are digging the Yeti? I think the middle part looks extremely overloaded thanks to the switch infinity.. imho the only bikes looking nice esthetically are Straits Furious and Nells Tues
  • 1 0
Oh and the new Torque is not bad either. Even though kind of boring in that black finish
  • 3 0
Yeti and Bombers! That's a perfect new old skool rig right there.
  • 2 0
That rust paint job has such a post-apocalypse feel to it. Gotta give it my vote.
  • 2 0
Kurt Sorge’s EVIL is not a Wreckoning. It’s an Insurgent v3 which runs 27.5 front and rear.
  • 1 0
TR11 hands down. Such a banging paint job and I love to see the suntour forks on there instead of the same ol’ fox / RS dominance!
  • 2 0
Semenuk running an AXS rear derailleur in a freeride event...just cuz.

AXS rules Smile
  • 1 0
I love Zink’s approach.. riding a frame you simply love and prefer to the newer models and with a baller spec. Feel good, ride good
  • 1 0
I like the lines and the resemblance of a mountain bike of Reed’s SB 165. It doesn’t look like some sort of Alien Insect to me.
  • 1 0
Love Reed's Yeti but Jaxson's Honda-themed TR11 is by far the bike I'd take home. Thing is so sick. Would kill to have that paintjob/wrap on my bike.
  • 3 0
So short cage axs 7 speed rear der on Semenuk's bike? Wassup wit dat?
  • 1 0
I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned that yet. AXS DH review tomorrow?
  • 1 0
I'm just shocked that some of the bikes have kick stands, they all look a little banged-up though
  • 3 0
 Andreu's COMMENCAL?
  • 2 0
Interesting commencal branded "yt Tues" lacondeguy has.......
  • 1 0
I would have gone for the Gambler but the paint and build on the Session looks great
  • 2 1
you are ALL wrong. Carsons rocky is the sexisest bike out of the lot.. hands down.
  • 2 1
Are you guys sure that that's a Canyon Torque? It doesn't look like one. If so, it must be a prototype.
  • 1 0
Semenuk's Session - just for the single crowns! Wonder if Rock Shox have put up some danger money for this.
  • 2 0
 Carson's Maiden is sooo dope!
  • 4 2
The Yeti, or the Evil. Everything else is Horst link/faux bar.
  • 3 0
Why would that be a bad thing?
  • 2 0
So what? It's Rampage, nobody is pedaling these machines. Evils are just fancy linkage-driven single pivots, Yetis are really really fancy single pivots. The FRS/Furious, Torque, TR11, and Tues are also linkage-driven single pivots, constituting most of the field this year. Don't let the marketing of expensive brands fool you, most of the bike industry is on the same fundamentals.
  • 3 0
 Spesh out of the game...
  • 2 0
you guys are clearly not very artistic its obviously Tyler McCauls
  • 1 0
I’ll go with Semenuk for $500. Single crown wins the cup. Not sure about carbon front triangle though…
  • 1 0
Do you see Semenuks levers.....Old Codes!!
www.pinkbike.com/photo/21487913
  • 1 0
i lost a moment when marzocchi had resurrected
  • 1 0
how is there not a single V10 in the mix?
  • 2 0
The V10 is more of a race bike than something for air ballet.
  • 1 0
Pink Bike, the evil is an Insurgent V3 not wreckoning. Those are 27.5.
  • 2 0
 Very difficult choice.
  • 1 0
 1. Nell 2. Semenuk 3. Godziek
  • 1 0
Sorge runs on The Insurgent, not the on The Wreckoning
  • 1 1
Lol definitely not the YT’s. Look like plastic toys and they are typically built like it.
  • 2 1
YT's are nice... but they're always clapped out within 2 seasons. I've never witnessed a brand with such a propensity towards building absolute clapcycles. Nothing can compare to the bag-full-of-dimes sound their bikes make as they creak, clatter, and snap chainstays down the mountain. Used to like them, now I feel bad for every owner of one.
  • 1 0
Brage V with the quiet I’m here to get stuff done build
  • 1 0
Lacondeguys rust themed commencal is gonna give me nightmares
  • 1 0
The Hyper is clearly the best one...
  • 1 0
Yeah, I’m going to run down to Walmart right now to pick one up and go send!
  • 4 3
When will the Semenuk simping end
  • 1 0
none of these bikes has a Totem fork on them. meh!
  • 1 0
 that's an Insurgent V3 tho
  • 1 0
Senenuk and strait both using the older codes.
  • 1 1
Why does Bogg's Yeti look like a knife at a gun fight?
  • 1 0
 so many Michelin tires
