Right after Crankworx, Team Banshee / Major Cycles met up with their old friend, Justin Loiselle to immortalize the last days of their trip in Whistler. We get to tag along on this chill tunes, fast bikes tour.
Banshee listens to riders who want to do more with less - their 100mm travel Phantom 29er is far from being a cross-country machine. ISCG-05 tabs? Check. Reverb Stealth routing? Yup. Relatively slack geometry and thru-axles? You bet.
Just how capable is Banshee's 2013 Rune? We take to the hills on the new 6'' travel all-mountain monster to find out what the Cane Creek DBair-equipped bike is capable of.
The capable looking 2013 Banshee Rune sports 160mm of rear wheel travel and compatibility with both 26'' and 650B wheel sizes. Here is the official word from Banshee.
After a 2 year absence from their range, Banshee will once again be dealing the Wildcard this summer. You'll have to act fast if you want in though, as this hand is strictly limited to 50 individually numbered frames worldwide.
Banshee Bikes are proud to announce their 2012 Factory Team. From World Cup racers to world class freeriders, the Banshee Factory Team is looking forward to a fun & successful 2012 season.
To commemorate two incredible years with Mike Montgomery, Banshee Bikes have set up an eBay auction to sell off a replica Banshee Amp frame built up with an amazing spec very similar to he one Mike rides.
Banshee's Keith Scott walks us through the Prime 29er prototype. We've followed it from CAD drawing to prototype, now it looks ready for serious trail action.
Jon Hadfield, former sales representative of Race Face Components, joins high performance mountain bike frame manufacturer, Banshee Bikes as International Sales and Marketing Manager.
Pinkbike has followed development of Banshee's new Prime 29'er from drawings to assembly. Now you can see the frame in its entirety, as well as get some insights into the design from the Prime's designer, Keith Scott. Interview Inside!
Last week I posted pictures of the Banshee Prime CNC parts. During the week Pacific Prototype Wizard Teddy completed the front and rear triangles. In the excitement we have started ordering parts for the initial frames to see how they roll.
It's Prime Time ... We at Banshee are really excited to see pieces of the new Banshee Full Suspension 29er showing up at the factory. After seeing the drawing in 2-D and then 3-D it is nice to be able to see some actual pieces.
The guys at Banshee have been working on their latest bike, a 29'er that is burly enough to tackle the Shore and whatever else you can dish out! It features a proper slack head angle, a new linkage design, and titanium pivot axles. Inside you can scope out what the new bike will look like, check out the proposed geometry, and get the lowdown straight from Banshee.
A closer look at what goes into the frames and parts we ride with.
After the Taipei Bike Show and Sea Otter I decided that it was time to build up a new bike for the summer. I had a chance to get a close look at a lot of products in Taipei and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to use on my bike. Also being in Taiwan and working out of the factory where Banshee Bikes are made I had a unique opportunity to take pictures of my bike during production. I had also lined up a couple of factory visits that fell through at the last minute. Lots of companies do not want pictures taken of their facilities or manufacturing processes. Thankfully I was lucky enough to be invited to the factory where Funn Brakes are made in Taichung, Taiwan. And I made the trip to Vancouver Island to hang out with Greg at the Straitline factory.
Check out my bike being built up from Taiwan to British Columbia,
Kevin Landry's Banshee Wildcard bike check with a twist! This is part one of three bike checks with Kevin Landry and his Banshee bikes, where you the readers / viewers could end up taking home some fresh parts. You'll have to watch all three parts as they come out to find out how to win!
A couple of years ago my brother sent me a video of Mike riding in a skate park out in California. My brother said to keep an eye on this guy as he is going to be huge. It was great to see BMX inspired tricks on a mountain bike. For the past two years we have been Mike Montgomery fan boys. Always trying to find footage, pictures or results from the competitions he had competed in. Now we're very please to show you his Banshee bikes as Mike has joined the family
Banshee/Mythic Factory Team is very proud to announce the signing of Adam Brayton and Tom Deacon for 2010 World Cup DH season.
Banshee Bikes (Mythic Bikes in the UK), high end mountain bike frame producers, is proud to announce that Adam Brayton, the 20 year old ripper from the Lake District in England, and Tom Deacon, the 23 year old current British National Points Series Elite Champion from Shropshire, England, will be representing them this season on the UCI World Cup DH circuit. Both will be riding Banshee’s all new Legend MkII DH race bike. More details inside,
We took a minute to sit down with Keith Scott, the main designer at Banshee, to hear what he has to say about their new Spitefire all-mountain trail machine.
Watch the video to learn more about the new Spitfire!
Also inside are new pictures of Banshee's Rampant, Amp, and Legend DH bikes!
I am not going to waste space with a lot of words, I am going to let these pictures do the talking for me. I will just say that I was lucky enough to be locked in a room with a couple of 2010 Banshee Legend MKII frames and a camera. Trying to fit one into my backpack crossed my mind a couple of times. I should have brought a bigger bag.
A first glimpse of the first ever production Banshee Spitfire.
The Banshee Spitfire is creating quite a stir amongst aggressive trail riders out there who want a lightweight, low and slack singletrack shredding machine. The Prototypes (one of which which was shown exclusively on Pinkbike last summer) have been used and abused and tested hard, and all feedback from that, plus feedback from many bike forums has been taken on board and used to refine the design. This is the result...
Banshee Bikes (www.bansheebikes.com) and Team Geronimo (www.geronimoracing.net) are both pleased to announce their new partnership for the 2010 race season. 2009 isn’t even a memory yet, but Jay MacNeil, General Manager of Banshee Bikes, and Team Geronimo are busy preparing for a jump start on 2010 – ready to hit the National, International, and World Cup race circuits on Banshee’s new Legend Mk II DH bike and Rampant 4X bike.
If you don't know Jack, you should. Jack Fogelquist just hooked up with Banshee Bikes and is looking to make a splash in the slopestyle scene in 2010. Jack is from Scotts Valley, CA, which is very close to Aptos, CA, and will be a great training ground for him this winter. He just got his hands on Banshee's new slopestyle bike, The Rampant and their hardtail, The AMP. I recently shot with Jack for a few days with the new bikes.
The Legend MK1 is Banshee’s first frame to foray into the downhill race scene, but I wouldn’t call the frame beginner's luck. Many recall the burliness of Banshee in past years, via models such as the Scream and Morphine. Since then the boys over there have been busy combining the knowledge of how to build a strong and stiff frame, while applying some weight savings techniques resulting in a definite contender.
The Banshee Spitfire is a new frame that Banshee is adding to their line-up next year. It will be a 5" travel aggressive trail / enduro ripping machine with adjustable geometry and a specifically tuned VF4B linkage to offer the rider great pedaling efficiency as well as active suspension under braking.

The scythe is an enduring symbol of the harvest. It is also a symbol of death – the Grim Reaper of Christian lore and Kali, the Hindu Goddess of Death, carry Scythes. When it comes to a bike built for launching one’s self with abandonment and railing at eye-watering speeds, this is a bit unnerving. Fortunately, [L=http://www.bansheebikes.com]Banshee’s[/L] take on the Scythe is a lot more like the useful tool of yore – it is sharp, simple and durable. You can reap your just rewards.
Banshee Bikes has a long history in making bikes that are good for sending it and holding up to amazing amounts of abuse. The Rune adds a new element to that package as you can pedal the Rune all over and still charge the descents. With the Rune, Banshee has really entered the trail bike market with a beauty of a machine.
Jay from Banshee Bikes tells us all about the Rune and why you should take one for a spin. Video, pics and specs inside.
Another hot day at the Outdoor Demo and another cool bike for you to check out. This time we have Jay from Banshee running us through his 'so new it's not even done yet' DH bike prototype, the Legend. Being tested by the recently un-retired Mick Hannah, the Legend looks amazing!
Midway through the 2008 season, the DH race beast sunk its fangs deep into my blood. I suddenly had a burning desire to get on the track as much and as soon as possible. However, the limiting factor was I had dumped all my cash early in the season on a new “all mountain” ride more apt to the single track of my hometown of Rossland, B.C.
A short while ago we told you, the Pinkbike.com viewer, that we had received one of the new Banshee Wildcard bikes to do some beating on.
Well, we have abused ourselves, bruised our bones, scarred our limbs, and thankfully enough, but to no surprise, the Wildcard is still standing tall. The Wildcard has been hiked through 4 feet of snow, pushed through 2 feet of mud, rode through the pouring rain, and is still begging for more. Here's the full review on the Banshee Wildcard and the parts that made it go.
Banshee Bikes has been a big name since the 'huckfest' we knew as the late 90's. There were more Morphines, and Screams in the average garage than McDonalds wrappers on the passenger seat. After the 'huckfest' died off, big bulky bikes were turned into Pop machines, and Parking Meters. As the Industry shifts, Banshee Bikes continues to be up there with the big boys, especially with the creation of there Downhill, and Slopestyle bikes. The Wildcard is Banshee's answer to the growing love for Slopestyle bikes in the industry, and it is definitely a head turner.
The Maple Ridge Cycle bike club is up and running again. Following a successful run last year, they’re back for an encore. Started at the beginning of last riding season by Troy and Rob (owner and manager of the shop), it gathered almost 100 members and had anywhere from 20-70 people out for each and every ride. Of the 100 members, approximately 20 of them were ride leaders, and the majority of the rest were kids aged 9-15. They ride an area with 21 trails and can tailor groups to any and all riding abilities. 72 rides later they hosted a year-end wrap up with special guests Ryan Leech and Jay Hoots. Free burgers, hot dogs, and pop rounded out a great year for the kids and their family and Ryan put on a fantastic trials demonstration to keep them entertained even through a torrential downpour.
