Dylan Korba is a man of many bikes and a man of many talents. From DJ to BMX, Trials to Slopestyle, Dylan can hold his own on pretty much anything with two wheels. What many people don't realize about Dylan though, is that he has an intellectual side as well. Dylan is the proud owner of an Honors Degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University and is now on his way to Calgary to follow it up with a Masters.

For the 2010 model year, Norco axed the popular Six from its lineup of mountain bikes, and that decision made perfect sense when one considered the bikes that Norco had in its catalog at the time. The Six overlapped with the 2010 Fluid LT, which was meant to be used as a rider's all-day and all-mountain ride, and with the 2010 Shore, which was intended to cover a rider's park / shuttle / freeride needs.

For 2011, BC-based Norco didn't simply reintroduce the Six; instead its designers developed the 2011 Range, which is a bike that retains the climbing capabilities of the Fluid LT (which it replaces) while stepping it up a notch (or three) when the bike is pointed downhill. I recently picked up a demo 2011 Norco Range 1 to ride for a week, and I immediately made plans to ride a bunch of local favourites while traveling later in the week to sample some of the fantastic alpine singletrack that British Columbia has to offer.

Sam has come off a great season boasting fantastic results such as 5th at Crankworx Colorado and 2nd at Goat Style in Creston BC. For the 2010 competition season Sam will continue to compete at an elite level in premiere events on a 2010 Norco 4Hun and an Empire SE.

We have taken a look at all the other genre's of bikes from Norco's 2010 product lineup, so now we will look at 3 bikes, from the Shore to the street. The 2010 Norco Sasquatch, 2010 Norco Two50, and the 2010 Norco Rev. One being a North Shore Hardtail designed for gnarly rock rides and big drops, the second being a hardtail designed around street riding and dirt jumps and the last being a completely rigid bike, designed for street thrashing and having fun.

The Fluid series makes up the majority of Norco's all mountain bikes. This series of bikes caters to everything from the base level of dual suspension XC bikes, right up to competition level of bikes, including full carbon frames. The bike in the Fluid series that we chose to look at was the Fluid 1.

The Fluid 1 bike caters to a large grouping of riders, so let's take a look...

The Shore series is a flagship amongst the Norco bike line and has been serving riders for the better part of a decade. Based in the North Shore region of the world, where a lot of the aggressive, and abusive riding has been fathered, Norco has been doing research and development not only on the Shore terrain, but on the Shore as a bike that can tackle it all.

The Shore has gone through a number of phases, from a burly downhill bike designed for the most abusive, and technical trails this side of the water, to an All Mountain orientated "Shore" bike, designed for total domination on that terrain.

Today was all about riding bikes at the 2010 Norco Bikes launch in Vancouver B.C. This morning all the media threw legs over various urban bikes (think commuters) and proceeded to follow team riders Ryan Leech, Dylan Korba, Ben Boyko and Darcy Turenne around the city's water front. The weather was amazing and the riding paths really showed us that it's easy to get around the city's core on a bike.

We are here at the 2010 Norco Performance Bikes launch in Vancouver BC and it's going great. Today we got to see the whole line up of bikes and then head up to the North Shore for a famous Shore ride. What better bike to ride than the new 2010 Norco Team DH!

Day 2 at the 2010 Norco Product launch was day 1 of riding bikes. Around noon, after everyone had stuffed their faces with lunch, and learned all about the new 2010 bikes from Norco we headed over to Mount Seymour to shred some core trails. Some of the riders in our group had never been on what was known as the North Shore, so Norco escorted us on some more of the tame trails. Here's some photos, and a video on the ride.

Ok so that's as fast as the old truck goes, but it was sweet to see it get valet parked at our destination. In the past if you wanted a top spec’d DH race bike you had to go out of your way to build it up with competitive parts that would help you win races. Quite a few companies were making nice complete bikes, but no one was making a no holds barred, spec’d to the max “stock” bike. This meant that you would have to buy the bike that was closest to what you wanted or go buy the frame of your choice and build it up from there. The process of spec’ing your DH race bike is the most costly thing you can do when getting ready for the season. What if you could buy a whole bike that was fully race ready and no spec had been over looked? Just drop the cash, roll out and pin it!

Norco Bikes has issued a safety recall for a number of their down hill and free ride mountain bike frames from 2007-2009, due to a cracking issue at the headtube. Read on to see if your Norco bike is affected, and what to do about it.

The Norco Shore series of freeride bikes are built to handle the punishing terrain of Vancouver's infamously technical North Shore, including meaty rock hucks, mind-puzzling stunts, and big boy jumps. These bikes are designed with abuse in mind and after several months of heavy usage, the hearty component spec shows little sign of fatigue. The Shore's compact size feels comfortable and balanced in the air and handles pretty well when the going gets fast. Although it's not claimed to be a great pedaller, some adjustment could get this bike up to being somewhat of a contender for the "one bike", depending largely on the needs of the Shore-style rider.

'09 has already been a fantastic riding season here in Washington with our unusually dry and warm-ish winter (post flooding). The December snow storms still have remnants on the upper trails, but for the most part riding has been occupying most of my time as usual. This summer has seemed like a never ending bike trip. As soon as I am done one thing, it is on to the next. Fortunately the next thing up was a Mace gear photo shoot in a place called Blue River B.C. Granted, Blue River is not the biggest town in the world, but from what I was hearing there has been some awesome activity on trail building and I was pretty pumped to go see what had been going down.

As one of the larger bike manufacturers, Norco continues to improve and add to it's ever growing line-up of bikes. Throughout the years, they have made leaps and bounds, improving and introducing new ideas to the mountain bike industry. One thing that hasn't changed is their outstanding commitment and drive, to deliver top quality bikes to happy customers. When I was approached with the opportunity to ride the Six, I didn't even stop for a second to think twice about it. It had been some time since I had saddled up on a Norco, but I was eager to find out what the research and development team had been up to in their lab-the North Shore mountains.

Norco has rocked the boat with this one! Their completely new 2009 Team DH has been overhauled, redone, retooled, and put on a diet. With a flashy look all its own and a class leading weight, the new Norco race bike deserves a little more attention.

Norco's Shore line represents their vision of a serious and versatile freeride bike. They have been an important part of Norco's big-bike stable for many seasons now but for '09 the Shore series gets a makeover of Ricki Lake proportions. We're going to take a closer look at their all new Shore One, the top end bike in the line-up.

For 2009 Norco is happy to unveil their lady's line up of bikes - the Forma series. Factory team rider Darcy Turenne has had a lot of influence and input on the whole line up, but her biggest focus has been on the Vixa. The Vixa is Norco's answer for the ladies out there looking for a freeride bike that won't hold them back and that they can progress on for year's to come.

The other day I gave you an introduction to the Norco Empire 5 and you all seemed pretty stoked on it, so today I bring you the entire DH / Park Series of bikes. Yep the Team DH, the Aline Park Edition, the Aline and the Atomik. These bikes are built for gravity's play ground! Be it shuttle runs in the back of the truck or loading up the chair lift at your local bike park to winning WC DH events, this is your series of machines to take on that task.

I'm currently at the 2009 Norco Bikes launch in Whistler BC and they have a ton of changes in their line up for everyone to see for next year. I got a chance to take an Empire 5 for a few rips and wanted to share some pics of it with everyone.

Norco Performance Bikes is excited to announce that recently-named Ride Guide Host, Darcy Turenne has signed on as part of the Norco Factory Team for the '07/08 season.

At only 23 years of age, Darcy is at the top of her game as a professional mountain bike rider. As a team rider for both the Norco, Oakley, and Dakine international MTB Teams, Darcy has proven that she more than just a pretty face, she also rips.

I had the chance to try out a 2006 Norco 4xxxx for a few months during the winter, getting a feel for it and riding it as hard as I could. There are not a lot of bikes out there that can do it all-DJ, Street, Slopestyle and trails. I wanted a Bike that I could do everything on, I thought it would be a fun challenge seeing as it's a race/trail bike so I wanted to see how it could handle on the trails, but I also wanted to see how it could handle against jump and slopestyle elements.

This summer Norco will provide '07 Park Edition A-Lines for riders who can't get enough gravity-fed action. The A-Line has been a mainstay at the Whistler Bike Park for the last three years, so you know they're tough! The Park Edition is like a regular A-Line on steroids so you can slay the bike parks most famous trail, A-Line. Not only do these bikes rip, but they'll help turn you into a ripper as well!

The past few weeks have been pretty good for the ladies that are representing Norco Bikes. Catharine Pendrel was named the Kamloops Female Athlete of the Year. While Fionn Griffiths (her team mate on the DH side of things) was at the Sea Otter collecting a podium spot in the Women's Pro DH.

VPS-Fest is Norco's one-of-a-kind Rider Appreciation Day. In 2003 we created our first VPS-Fest event as a fun way to give back to the riding community and a great excuse to get Norco riders together for a great time. Norco Performance Bikes is excited to announce the addition of Ben Boyko to our Factory Team for the '07/08 season.

The newest member of the Norco Factory Team is currently one of the hottest riders in the freeride/slopestyle scene. This past season, Ben captured top 5 finishes at key slopestyle competitions including: Crankworx (Whistler, BC), Bike Magazine's Monster Park, and the Braun 26Trix (Austria).

The 2006 World Cup 4X final in Schladming, Austria was the scene of total elation for Norco racer, Fionn Griffiths, as she took her 1st place spot on the podium. “It was incredible to be on top of the World Cup podium again!”
After battling through the qualifiers, Fionn made the final in 4th position along side Joey Gough, Anneke Beerten, and Tara Llanes. When the gate dropped, Fionn found herself pinned behind Beerten and Llanes for much of the course. Then in a gutsy move, Fionn threw her Norco FourX into an aggressive two wheel drift through the final corner to pass her competitors and take the win.

The Torrent name has been kicking around the Norco line-up for longer than some of today’s young rippers have been riding, but don’t be fooled – this model isn’t some washed up old has-been! Over the last several years it has been in a constant state of evolution with the freeride world, and now more than ever this trusty steed is ready to take more abuse than riders can dish out. Hey all you riders out there! My name is Eric Pauwels and I am 15 years old and my local shredding area is Chilliwack BC and anywhere else that I can catch a ride too. Through out the summer I’ve had the pleasure of riding the 2005 Norco Shore out here in Chilliwack B.C. on my local trails. As luck would have it, I even managed to get out to Whistler with my buddy Kyle for a trip. Here’s a little story on our trip and a lot of info on the sweet ride known as the Norco Shore.

Originally from Prince George, BC (the ‘true’ great white north), Gareth has called Whistler, BC home since 1998, when he moved down to pursue his dream of becoming a professional athlete.
