Red Bull has launched its new 'Beyond the line' series covering World Cup racing with Rob Warner and Eliot Jackson returning alongside Emily Batty.
The first episode sees Rob, Eliot and Emily joined by the Austrian World Cup winners, Vali Holl and Andreas Kolb. The episode also covers the opening rounds of the series and what is coming next in 2023.
Going forward Red Bull says in its press release that the show will "give unparalleled access to some of the biggest names in the sport. Using the latest remote technology to bring live on-site interviews, race analysis and event updates, straight into the studio."

As for the quality of the commentary (and I'm mostly addressing XCO here, as that's what I watch), pre- and during races, as much as it leaves much to be desired - from Kate Mason's obvious lack of any cycling background and often awkward on-screen manner and how she treats the racers they had just interviewed, pretty much shooing them away when the interview is done (see Jenny Rissveds a couple races ago or even Nino last time), through Josh's mid-race "informative" interludes/segments that I guess are thought to add to the experience, but are a distraction and may cause the broadcast to miss something important instead, to the recent Euro Champs with just bad commentary (where one of the commentators suggested that since racers where forced to run up a steep, slick/muddy section every lap, maybe it would've been more beneficial for them to wear something other than stiff carbon shoes) - I think many here were prepared for far worse, when the change of guard from Red Bull was first announced. Everybody was predicting doom and gloom and pretty much the death of racing. At least we still have Bart's voice that we all got used to. And coverage itself is not that bad, either. While they still miss some stuff due to cameras not being there (so did Red Bull before), I think drones add a very cool, new perspective.
Beyond what's is special about these calls in the moment is how special they are in replay. Replays of this year's winning runs lack the magic and energy that are so apparent in Finn's win at Mont St. Anne, Bruni's win in France, Camille exploding onto the scene a few years ago, same with Amaury.
We could all mute the live feed and get live commentary through the live podcast. Imagine that??
So have any proof of any racism from JR?
Just a couple of fyi's:
@adminofthegapers I tend to agree with most (but not all) of the things you have said here. I'm also left wing as f*ck. And I'm of the opinion that tribalism, partisan politics and culture wars are for people that need to be told what to think by their chosen team. You seem open minded enough to see past all that shit. So I'm dismayed by your comment about leftists. Aside from that though, I reckon we'd probably be able to have a beer together without getting all lairy about anything. (or dying of covid, funnily enough...)
@skywalkdontrun Your tendency to fall back on uninformed ad-hominems doesn't make you look smart. Quite the opposite infact. Go read a few books and stop just spouting the same tired old shit as all the mindless partisan f*cks on twitter.
@nathanrob I like your input, but I disagree with you wholesale. I grew up in the south of the USA and my secondary school was probably 30% mexican 30% african american and 40% caucasian. I'm not gonna say my best friend is black, but I am gonna say well over half my friends werent white while I was growing up. I used the n word all the time, and guess what, that doesn't magically make me a racist. Hating people you have never met based on preconcieved ideas about their background is what makes you racist. I try not to do that. I still do use the n-word occasionally. Not in public, cos I'm aware it offends some people, but I still use it. And guess what, I aint even the tiniest bit racist.
I like joe rogans podcast. I don't agree with all of the stuff I hear on it, but I also hear some really interesting things on it. I don't even agree with all the really interesting things, but I have this apparently magic and very dangerous power where I can still find an idea I disagree with interesting. More people should try it. You might find a few of your opinions being tested in ways you didnt think of before.
do you not think info wars allready existed before jones appeared on JRE?
(P.S I think jones is a total peice of sh*t BTW)
I've turned off a shit load of his podcasts where he's got some absolute moron on who's got no idea about what their talking about. I've turned off heaps of his political shit too, I'm not a fan. I've also listened to hundreds of really interesting podcasts with experts in interesting niche fields talking about things that interest me, and Joe asks very good questions to them which can get them explaining things to normal people who otherwise wouldn't understand what they're on about. He's a true artist at conversation like that.
Guess what, the media don't want you to think critically about anything at all so they do not want you to listen to Joe Rogan's podcast because it gives you an opportunity to think about a subject in depth instead of just what you're being told in soundbites that want to force something on you.
I think I have heard him say the N word in the past, but it isn't in a racist context or directed at anyone. It's in the context of expression. I don't care if someone uses the N word either, because I've not been brainwashed to think it's the absolute worst thing in the world and someone needs to be canceled for it.
@gooral: @skywalkdontrun: I should of directed this at you wombles but never mind. Keep drinking the Media coolaid, atleast it makes you feel better.
"As of April 18, 2023, the original Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use by the FDA in the United States."
I'll never understand how a group of people can't possibly fathom the idea of a person not wanting to put a non-approved, never before used (type of technology) vaccine into their bodies to protect against a virus with a 99% recovery rate for individuals 18-45 years of age.
I'm not taking any more vaccines but you could use current info to make your case.

I am not sure if de Vries had some personal issue with the Red bull guys or if he is a pawn for the main Redbull team, but it all feels odd since his performance wasn't so much worse than Tsunnoda...
@somebody-else: RedBull would rather let some other company do the nurturing growth and then they can pick the good drivers later and play head games to threaten their drivers to perform, like they did with Albon and Gasley. Very bad management, especially from Horner.
It is all mental games, the last lap 1 pointer by Max in the last race that is very demoralizing for the other 19 drivers and their teams. If the rumor is true and RB bring a Zero Sidepod concept that works, it is the end for Mercedes AMG Petronas, they will rage quit probably.
Of course they are wasting money on Mick…
They all make stupid emotional decisions at times.
Makes more sense if you know how thin Batty's skin is. Vanzacs.
I think the red bull editors are trying to tell us something but I’m not quite sure what it is…
Miss the so much, won’t be the same without em.
The skill in live commentary is to mix the facts with the live action - and that is where Ric and co are missing: too much facts, buzz phrases and not enough of the now.
Winning combination right there!
Just launched a podcast as well.
