Next year is time for my final World Cup season. My priorities may change but the fun and adventure two wheels gives me will continue forever. - Steve Peat, Santa Cruz Syndicate |

@bretttippie I love it when mtb heros post comments...makes you seem more real! As another aside, PB needs to interview Mrs. Tippie! What's Tippie like behind the scenes?!?!
He rocked up at the Trans-Savoie Big Alpine Enduro on the 1st day of the 2014 event, took the stage win on every stage - against some pretty tough Enduro-Pro competition like Neil Donoghue and Jamie Nicoll. Totally racing blind, no special training, just natural talent.
Lets not forget this was the morning after Josh Bryceland won the World Cup at Meribel. In other words, Peaty had a rocking hangover, but good to his word, he still made it to race and still nailed it like the true pro he is.
Don't believe me?

What a LAD!!!
Like you've all said already. LEGEND.
He's inspired me in so many ways, #LEGEND
This is indeed true. Steve, your legacy will live on forever!
Spread the word!
Cheers Peaty!
My Fav photo of all time...http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/12642441/
And yes I might like to drink beer too. Much more time to get pissed and have fun on the bike when not racing...something to look forward to.
Cheers
I saw my greatest ever live sporting memory back in 2005, you stood in front of me with your Orange over your head in the finish arena, the crowd going absolutely MENTAL, your eyes were all glazed over....so were mine....and all around me were faces with the same big stupid grin and glazed over eyes, it really was that emotional
I've no doubt it'll be just exactly the same MENTAL experience next year when it comes around for the last time, no matter what result you get in the race, just stay fit enough to bloody race man haha. utter legend of the sport and what you've taken from it you've given just as much back, I tip my cloth cap with one hand and raise a pint in the other to you Peaty, thanks for the memories :-)
Secondly, I got into biking only 3 years ago, and I remember cruising Pinkbike for one of the first times and seeing one of Peaty's videos and thinking to myself "Whoa, this dude is cool. And he mountainbikes! Mountainbiking is so cool". Not knowing who he was or his accolades, I just saw a sweet guy who loved being on a bike and also seemed to be awesome off the bike. And its those kind of riders and mentalities that I like to associate mountainbiking myself with. I can think of no better person to be the image of the joy and passion of mountainbiking than Mr Steve Peat, and I look forward to seeing what he does next.
Love You Peaty, you are a legend and an inspiration to the whole MTB community.
Steve, thanks for being one of the worlds best shredders of ALL TIME. Thanks for making me laugh at all the funny ass videos and pranks you did with the team. Thanks for inspiring me, I'm getting older but you prove even as we age we can still KICK ASS. I know you'll still be riding and contributing to the sport so enjoy life after the race with family and friends~~
It was he I first heard of! and I was introduced to the Santa Cruz Bullet by watching vids of him jumping off roof tops!
He is my number one rider of all time! he is mountain biking!
I got into the sport in 2001!~ and his influence helped to create the Free Rider as we know it!
those two are the reason i race DH now. thanks for showing me how much fun it is!
(i still wanna party with peaty and cedric)
SACRILEGE!
- Enjoy your well deserved retirement -
In this world of hypocritical athletes who have no clue on how to be role models let alone brand ambassadors, STEVE PEAT STANDS ALONE as one of the most inspirational, humble, and hard working professional athletes in any sport. Hats off Mr Peat, you will always inspire, especially us old guys
Sadly you did look at the time ............ And now it's time to retire. It just won't be the same watching world cups and not being able to cheer you on Peaty!
Let's nominate Peaty

Fair play to him, 25 years is a long time to be at the absolute sharp end of the sport. I can't wait to see what he does next.
