May not be the most technically challenging riding video I’ve seen, but it is one of the most exhilarating ones for sure. It’s as close as it gets to feeling like you are riding with Semenuk and R Dog. Love this video, and makes me want to hit the trail, and sadly ride at 1/10 of the speed and not at all like these guys.
IDK have you ridden that close to someone before? Its TERRIFYING. It almost makes this one of the most technical videos out there. And then throw the drone in the mix too, impressive on that guys part too.
@theging: I done a few trains riding dirt jumps, its frightening when the dude in front slows down as they go up the take off and you catch their back wheel!
It would be especially cool if you had one left foot forward and one right foot forward rider on the same team so you had them doing threes and whips in opposite directions on the same jumps in perfect sync.
They used to do doubles vert in BMX occasionally, so that would be totally doable. Possibly just add a couple of lips to a speed & style course (might be too much to widen a slopestyle run), judge it like slopestyle (difficulty, amplitude etc.) And add in a score for synchronicity...
I for one think it would make for an awesome show.
This is got some of the best shots in MTB history until now. Also the best done until now with drones+MTB. Some of the sequence screenshots are unreal and never seen before like this I guess...
Accidentally ended up in mid-air about a handlebar's width from a mate the other day when we both went for the same line at the tiny jumps in the local woods. Scared me sh*tless by boy it was fun! Can't even imagine how good this must have felt!
I 've seen sooooooo much evolving through all the years of mountain biking but OMG !!! that video is nothing but pure love for what you do definitely the best video I 've seen of all around style determination and willingness to progress the sport that much further !!! Just amazing like wow !!!
All of Brandon's edits are trailers to something real. To the people flying the drones, the trail builders, the riders, all of the slaves in post (solidarity!), everyone even just handing out water bottles.., hat's off. f*cking good on ya, total oath

INSANITY! I wonder how many takes this took, incredible work!!
ONE question??: Some of that looked like an FPV racing drone, do my eyes deceive me? If so, any idea why the quality seem to be lacking a bit for those dronesque shots? Just a fellow film maker question
Looks like they're using a 360 degree camera on it and making it a planar 16:9 projection in post. That way the drone doesn't have to rotate perfectly to get the shot.
That drone footage quality makes it hard to watch, I kept trying to restart it and change the quality to get it to look good, but then when the non-drone footage was shown, it was crisp. What was the drone shooting in, 480p? Ha.
Looks like they're using a 360 degree camera on it and making it a planar 16:9 projection in post. That way the drone doesn't have to rotate perfectly to get the shot. Chopping out most of the 360 degree footage gives a bit of warping around the outside of the frame and makes the resolution lower.
Was trying to figure that out, I guess the high speed drones can't carry high end cameras? It looks blocky/low bitrate compared to the stationary shots.
If Semenuck doesn’t like to compete in slopestyle anymore he should take his biking skills to different level and do what Martin Soderstrom did and start competing in Speed and Style...
@swedepro:just few seconds, mainly its shot from 4x4 with crane i suppose - because that stopping before big wooden shooter, drone should fly upwards and continue to shoot, so...
Well, that wasn't terrible at all. Amazing riders riding amazingly in technical close quarters. The drone operator and camera crew get massive props. Impressive all around.
Incredible edit!!!! Imagine this as a dual slalom/speed and style course... seeing the top DH, enduro and slope riders compete against each other would be rad!
@JackSB: Looks like our Central Cali style of Oak tree and Lace Lichen (not actually 'Spanish Moss' as everyone calls it). It's actually our State Lichen
While all of Semenuk’s videos are incredible, it would be cool to see him giving back to mtb by opening at least a variation of many of these trails to the public. Picturing it kind of like how golf courses are designed by famous golfers ect.
@keeqan: I think it was Full Nelson from his film section but then Half Nelson was added to it shortly after, and both are public trails. Half Nelson starts from up higher.
Did anyone else feel like it was a little too dark? Great riding but the music and lighting made it a little lackluster for me. Unpopular opinion maybe.

Looks fine embedded in a webpage (and presumably on mobile). Sucks they put all that effort in only to have something that's unwatchable on a tv.
SO Bad ass.
BTW sick edit!!!

My shredders (4&7) loved it!
The bar has been raised!
