At last, a true comment. This is an overestimated bike frame in my opinion (continue reading) - of course it looks good and I am sure that it rides good as well. But something is telling that it's the whole branding-marketing-anticipation thing that made that frame so wanted, apart from its looks. I could spend, if I had to, 10K to get another bike (or even less, see Hope) rather than spending 5K for that frame only; no matter how cool it looks. And yes, if you ask 5K for a frame you better prolong the warranty as far as possible.
  • 1 0
I thought they always talked about lifetime warranties on these - listening to the vital podacast with Cesar, he 'said' it would be lifetime frame and not just with the original owner warranty
  • 13 2
I love all the crying about the cost. It's the Pagani Zonda R of the bike world. If you can afford it you don't ask how much (but then you don't go calling those who can't afford one "peasants", you know who you are).

It's a bike and a work of art. If we keep producing things with the aim of being as cheap as possible we would never see works of art like this. It costs money to produce something exotic...which is why exotic things are so expensive.

And what's with the unfounded "It's a piece of crap" comments?! Have mountain bikers really become so ignorant and shallow?

Anyway, all my pets and my neighbours pets (that I haven't stolen, honest) are on EBay if anyone's interested, there's a bike frame I need to boutique bike frame I need to buy...
  • 1 0
*there's a boutique bike frame I need to buy...(never place a comment on a forum using a phone that has a mind of its own when it comes to predictive texts!)
  • 3 0
@kennyken1015 come on man thats not even a close comparison you are talking about a high end car with a hundreds of thousands in tech in it. This is a molded bike with off the shelf components on it.
  • 1 0
@mhoshal: I was only talking about the frame, along with aesthetics. You obviously can't compare the tech between a bike and a car!
Personally, I would change every single part of it but if I saw this covered in the best and sexiest parts money could offer I would jizz my pants...same as if I saw a Zonda R...
  • 1 1
@kennyken1015: there is absolutely no difference between this carbon frame to any other out on the market so there is no need to sell the frame for nearly twice the price. There is no reason that carbon should be this expensive other then the disgusting greed these companies have to make money. Carbon is alot cheaper then people think and probably costs less to manufacture then aluminum.
  • 1 0
@mhoshal: "In the UK this frame and shock would cost £4407 My firebird cost me £3300 so lets say a grand difference. So when you add in the fact that it's a limit run of 50, it's finish is way better than the Firebird and many other boutique frames for that matter and it comes in a badass custom box (lol) ... with the Firebird being a production run frame the cost kind of balances out...Once they sell all 50 frames they won't make anymore money out of it until they (IF they) start selling it again next year. Which means after the cost of banging these frames out they'll make a profit yes but not a huge one....and don't get me wrong...that price is crazy but when you can easily afford it the price for a limited whatever doesn't seem so bad. Many hyper cars are limited runs and this definitely inflates the price of exotic beasts but instead of bitching about them enthusiasts appreciate the craftsmanship and finish and then the performance and they sell out within days

No offence, but you also should "probably" do some researched before shouting so loudly about the costs of manufacturing carbon parts compared to aluminium. Saying things like "probably costs less to manufacture then aluminium" suggests your second guessing and just looking for just another augment. There are valid reasons why SOME (not all) carbon stuff costs more than aluminium and I did a lot of research (whilst swearing I would never buy a carbon frame by the way) before taking the plunge sir Smile
  • 11 2
Yes this is cool - but what am I getting for 5K? Is the frame that much lighter, stiffer? Will my experience by that much more awesome than another high end frame? Is this just a vanity thing?
  • 28 0
 No. Yes.
  • 17 2
You get the ability to feel like a real asshole on the trail and gloat at everyone else's misfortune and debt.
  • 5 0
 - A carbon frame using better materials (T-1000 fiber) and made in Europe 100% (which has probably less cost-benefit ratio than 3K carbon frames).
- Yes and yes.
- Maybe, it depends what you look for.
- Most probably yes

tag that shit nsfw, pinkbike. cant be pulling up porn like this at work!
  • 2 0
Yeah, anytime after 5pm Pacific time would be more appropriate for porn like this.
  • 8 1
Uhm sorry, Antidote bikes just seems like the better break-your-wallet-carbon-bike option. They don't even have limited runs and their frames look just as good. And you can choose the shock.
  • 15 1
You can get the new hope bike complete for this price lol
  • 2 0
@mhoshal: And they make them in more than one size.

Of course after doing like 6 root canals to be able to afford an Unno, it's not like you're going to get it dirty - the fact that it will only fit if you're a midget probably won't bother the buyer of a bike like this.
  • 5 0
I don’t understand why bikes like this have to be so expensive. I mean logically, I get it— it’s a small boutique brand that’s producing only 50 frames. But why can’t a major manufacturer realize that this is the look and the geometry that most riders want, and mass produce a similar frame? I’m so sick of big brands producing ugly frames, with ugly color ways, worthless proprietary technology and stupid geometry.
  • 7 0
I like that they give you the effective seat angle at different saddle heights
  • 9 2
Only 1 size with 455mm reach...... So it's only for short dentists!
  • 5 1
Unno your frame had room for bottle cage, Unno you charged same as a complete YT Capra for just your frame and Unno what the #1 complaint about the new YT was....
Now Unno why you'll have left over frames.
  • 5 0
I think they are called UNNO because they are only going to sell one of them with that price.
  • 2 0
Given there will only be 50 pieces and it is made in Spain, in my opinion the price is justified. Just think of the made in Taiwan carbon frames that are made in thousands and still sell for 3.500€ - not many people complain about that. At that point the price difference is just not that much any more. Also, think working conditions and salary in Europe vs. Asia.
  • 2 0
You guys have no idea what you are looking at. This is the no compromise cesar rojo creation. Its not 'just another frame' that looks cool. This has been years in the making and is 100% the vision of cesar rojo - who is the reason your generic trail bike is long, slack and low. Do a little research, actually learn about mtb history. Start by listening to his vitalmtb podcast. And I can guarantee that unno are not getting rich off this.

  • 1 0
It's not physically possible for this to ride well enough to justify the price tag considering the competition... Might be worth it to some people as an art piece, but otherwise this is a pretty serious waste of the worlds precious resources.

 I don't get it..
What's so special about this frame to demand $6200 for it?
Is it 'art'?
I sure as heck don't see any performance there to warrant $6k for a fricken frame.
Heck, internal trans bikes are cheaper
