Brandon Semenuk's 2021 Red Bull Rampage build is the bike you'd expect a five-time Joyride and three-time Rampage champion to ride. With big travel, and big trick potential, his custom 27.5 / 26 mulleted Trek Session is set up with a one-of-a-kind BlackBox AXS drivetrain, and a 190mm single crown RockShox Zeb Ultimate.
Master mechanic, Sean Murphy, of Fluid Function in Squamish, B.C. assembled one of his two builds that he'll be travelling to Red Bull Rampage with, as he seeks an unprecedented fourth title.
Pretty sure if you ask Brage who’s the boss on two wheels, he will say it’s Brandon.
All these keyboard warriors need to chill!
I guess I gotta put /s when I post on pb... Though I'm not sure people know /s here or not.
As for that specific post, have you considered that people may have thumbed it down for the statement "Best comment in the Whole Thread!"?
I'm not gonna be the guy claiming to know more than brandon semenuk .... however it seems curious to me.
The only reason I see is that he knows they are back at the 2017 venue where a lot of stuff is pre built meaning he'll focus more on tricks
Then Brandon came and loaded it onto the shuttle.
Not calling out Brandon. He clearly rides small bikes for a reason. Not here to judge anybody’s bike choice.

That being said i still can't believe how he almost rode it out after over shooting that stepdown

Semenuk does have a couple of these on his ticket s builds but right now trickstuff has some issues with the supplier they’re sourcing some of the parts from due to covid and because of that can’t guarantee the parts are within spec and aren’t selling any right now. Got to take a peek at one of the new hydro gyros last summer and I very much want one.
Hydraulic shifting on the other hand could solve cable stretch and twisting issues
But he also gets paid to ride them?
I ride Fox
I need one just like that. Thanks!
Awesome build. My torque tools are all crying in shame right now. Semenuk you beast.
also me in2022 waiting sor sven and yoba at rampage
Quality build porn edit.
Drop some hits, B-Nuk!
I'm a big fan of Semenuk and always have been, and my PERSONAL opinion is I do not like the single crown. But thats it, just my opinion and perhaps it'll change after this event. The guy is probably running this set up for a very specific reason because he competes in the event and knows waaaaaay better than any of us here what it takes to try and win. Whether its riding straight down a 80 degree chute or flat drop flipping onto a lilypad drop, both are gnarly. Rampage will always be gnarly no matter what and it'll still get the views it always has gotten. Every rider is different and all us viewers have a different opinion but maybe its just best to let the experts out on the mountain ride and judge lol
Think maybe people are reading into my post a bit. Maybe I wasn't clear.
But yeah no knock on Semenuk. I watch all his videos... including the ones in his Subaru. Dudes amazing. One of the all time greats.
And Leon... you're damn right. What they're doing is absolutely insane and gets gnarlier every year. Part of the reason they're able to get gnarlier every year is that the equipment gets better and their builds get better. I've been on the Rampage sites. It's freaking nuts dude. TV does it zero justice.
Beyond that... the first 2 sentences were actually a post I was writing to respond to something completely different. So start reading from the Was just telling.... should read a bit differently.
Ha!!
Seriously... talking shit about ANYONE that's riding rampage is foolish as hell. Those guys are all on a level completely different than mortal men.
This is no dis to the mad talented riders that are competing

so this bike is perfect for it
Would be nice to see stuff that brendog brought to the table, knarly lines / rock rolls , etc ...
I'm pretty in touch I'd say... I just think that barspins and tailwhips are annoying and if you want to step up the difficulty of your run at rampage, you should build & ride a gnarlier line. Adding in some nimbly bimbly teenage dork shit doesn't make your run cooler in my opinion
Yup - at every single rampage to date. They are gnarly for sure but I prefer a sorge or lacondeguy-type winning run any day of the week.
Ya flips and spins are f*cking cool. Barspins and tailwhips are for scooter kids
Dude, what self-respecting person over the age of 21 does tailwhips or barspins? They are dorky tricks for 16 year olds to get hyped on watching FMB slopestyles. Or for 8 year olds on scooters at the skatepark.
If you're a god damn adult riding a god damn mountain bike and you get all jazzed about some sort barspin, youre still a f*cking adolescent in my opinion

he's gonna do some medium big/super tech barspinny stuff. Will be super impressive. There there will be others going bigger, faster, more amplitude and more stylish (in my opinion) on more rugged, less manicured features
bike park bitch / bench cut slut doesn't do it for me
not upset. Just, like, stating my opinion man
