Elite Finals Results from the Fort William DH World Champs 2023

by Ed Spratt
The results are in from the 2023 Fort William World Championships after some incredible racing.

In the Elite Women's race, the British riders kicked things off with some stellar runs with Tahnee Seagrave taking the hot seat before Louise Ferguson, Phoebe Gale and Rachel Atherton made it four UK racers in the top five with just 10 riders left at the top. Marine Cabirou was the first to break up the British racers as she took the lead by seven seconds. Marine's time would tumble as Camille Balanche was after another World title, she led by only 0.3 seconds with two more riders left.

A rear wheel slide-out ended Germany's chances of another rainbow jersey this week as Nina Hoffmann couldn't complete a clean run in finals. With just Vali Höll remaining we were guaranteed a repeat World Champion and the Austrian rider delivered a smooth and controlled run to come out on top by two seconds. Vali Höll now continues the season with the rainbow jersey as she secures back-to-back World Championship titles.

After the Women's racing Fort William brought the drama for the Men's title race as the rain picked up and quickly soaked the course making things extra challenging for most of the field. Greg Williamson and Angel Suarez were the early favorites as they came down looking fast and stayed at the front for over 20 riders. Charlie Hatton would be the first to beat these two riders and remained unbeaten against some tough challengers. Only Charlie's teammate Andreas Kolb could come within one second of the British rider's time as he ended the day with the silver medal and 0.599 seconds back. Laurie Greenland secured another medal for the British team leaving Fort William with 3rd place. 2022 World Champion Loic Bruni couldn't back up his top qualifying run and just missed the medals in 4th.

Pro's want their bikes to be as silent as possible. Mechanics go above and beyond to do just that. Then add fake "orange five going down stairs" noises is hilarious. And very irritating
  • 3 2
Oh dear god if that is true it's awful. I did think the sounds were weird, esp from the drone 1000m above the track but never did it cross my kind they would do that.

@boozed: Nah, why withhold yourself. Just use the fart sounds. It'll fit better with this commentary.
  • 1 1
I think they put a mic on some or most of the riders (on GCN+ broadcast). You can clearly tell on Loris’ run (when the commentator’s mic stopped working). You can hear his breathing and bike noises, especially the top part of run. Seemed to not be perfectly synced up with video.
  • 1 0
I just watched the replay for Loris' run again, and the commentators' audio was on, which is weird. For some reason, when I watched it first time, the commentators' audio cut out for Loris' run and the remainder of the broadcast - I thought everyone else was experiencing this same thing and it was a major screw up by the broadcasters, but apparently it was a streaming thing, which is really weird. It was actually quite nice not hearing any commentating! Anyways, without the commentators' audio, it really sounded like they had Loris' mic'd up - it didn't sound like canned audio. I know this has been done at other events (like Rampage did it for some riders). Who knows though...

It's literally a sport where people travel all over the world to ride. It's a huge part of the sport, even if you don't do it all the time it is seen as a right of passage to go on an MTB holiday on the other side of the world. I really can't see how you're saying fuck shell and also watching DH and going on pink bike which advertises a lot of MTB travel. Get off your high horse mate, you live a great modern life style that's only possible with petroleum products in various fields, be it medical, transport or just things you use day to day.
  • 69 19
The point is we should be moving away from fossil fuels for transport / power / materials, not pouring more money into it while the world burns.
Saying "you use fossil fuels so you can't be against them" is ridiculous. Yes we all use them, thats the world we were born into, but we should be trying to change it before it's too late.
And we won't fix the problem by changing where we go on holiday - we can only fix it by transitioning away from Shell and their like.

@lochussie: It does. We don't need mountain bikes, they're a luxury item that ships different parts from all over the world that are made in big factory's some powered by coal, the raw materials smelted in coal furnaces, the carbon resins are all oil products. Then they're all shipped and built up as a bike, tires that don't last very long added on. It's all done so we can have a lark in the woods. In the pre-industrial age, this shit did not exist.

@waxed: The travesty is that we're burning all that oil. There are a lot of very useful things that we make from petrochemicals that will be very difficult to make when it's no longer economical to extract.

@bikes-arent-real: 'you personally must be purer than driven snow before you dare criticise a corporation that's destroying our collective future' is a terrible take.  @Paco77: we have all. The capabilities to go 100% sustainable. It’s the rich people that don’t want it to happen because we can eliminate their socioeconomic discrimination, all fuel burning is dying and with how much power you get from electric it’s just uneducated neglecting to change attitudes getting in the way of true change and eliminating fissile fuels. I watched a college kid make a remote control airplane with solar panels fly for 16 hrs. Come on we can scale up and do way better, it’s just greedy people with money that shut down the idea so they can continue to be rich and display their higher socio economic status to everyone as in look how cool I am for having all this money and control. Until this attitude of sociocentralistic view changes and we decide it’s time to go 100% sustainable we will, hopefully we do change before a huge disaster forces us to do it anyways. Plus IV gone off grid so charging my batteries for my tools, bike lights and living off solar, used solar cuz it’s cheap and I’m not in the rich elite. I save 170,000 in 30 years. + I have made acoustic cycling my preferred travel everywhere in town so really just not being in a hurry and enjoying life, if I had the 11k I’d have a pedal assist e bike for commuting for sure. It would be a super moto enduro set up for the road, like the yt decoy. It’s just the range of acoustic is endless really. They need regenerative breaking so you can climb up, charge on the way down whenever you break.

@bikes-arent-real: oh I get it if they make cycling look bad then no one will by ebikes and stop driving their cars. Shame on you uci I think we need to strike and start the USA downhill cup and invite everyone over here and do it ourselves we have the Rockies and huge mountains in the northwest that is crying for these mtb events to come to them. Strike the uci. Stop making mtb look bad to profit your fossle fuel scheme.

@jonathansixtysix: if they had solar on the ambulance then they wouldn’t have to keep them running 24hrs a day to keep the batteries charges. Like I said the neglect to put money forth to green resources is just uneducation at this point. So for those against it just know how uneducated you are for not wanting to do better and create a better environment for everyone. Electric cars and vehicles mean people can travel and use their fuel money for eating and bike parts, and more bike parts because my 800 fuel bill is gone every month. Raising the price of fuel is a sure sign of a failing business squeezing all the money they can out of fossile fuel industry because their are billions of industry dollars gone like that, as well as millions of oil rig jobs, and all fuel stations are not needed because you can charge your car from the sun on your house roof, or wind turbin, whatever new technology they are hiding from us to keep us perpetuating using petrol. I know the cons to green energy but really they forget to tell you that all those oil rigs have huge diesel generators running 24/7 to keep power on the oil rig????? How much fuel do they consume to get fuel??? All of the mining equipment for green energy can be converted to green energy burning machines/ electric/ we are in such a negative growth system that it’s not sustainable so get ready for change regardless of whatever our opinions are. Don’t get me wrong I love the sounds of a motor but in a racer at heart and 50 hp electric motor makes 50hp at 1rpm and 2,000 rpm, instant power, 1 moving part the rotor. Engines 1,000 moving parts, only power from 2-4,000 rpm. We could do better too, we used to have robots at my old work as millwright they hauled the paper from the machine to the processing plant. I was always like man I want 2 so we could shuttle up to the top of the mountain eliminating the shuttle bitch. All electric self charging and if you get to close they stop until it’s clear and continue on. I was there for 2 years and the only failure was one time I had to go press a button that said re track and it went to the right 6 inches and continues on like nothing ever happened. Why can’t we use this to shuttle people in remote places. We can they just want to use fuel cuz of money, our earth where we live isn’t a good enough reason to be sustainable, it’s money only money. And if you don’t have any than your scum of the earth and people who are middle class, abuse you so they can feel rich. It’s a vicious cycle that needs to end. Only education will do that. Teach our kids how to read. Give our children the opportunity they deserve. A good mix between play and work, not slavery to where our only salvation is one ride a week cuz we have a slave job, you can’t expect a bunch of depressed people who have no money to magically buy these things that they can’t use cuz they are to busy working, just keep dangling the money in-front of our faces and pull the rug out at the last minute.

Yes, please keep Neil. Sorry Cedric. He was pretty informative and good on mic. I don't mind him not getting all excited and trying to appeal to 12 year olds. The riding speaks for itself and Rick has plenty of hyperbole. I wish they would stop trotting out the same tired cliches though, especially ten times over the broadcast. If you can't think of anything interesting or informative, a bit of dead air is fine. Also, make up your mind, the early chat was rain wouldn't be a big issue, then once it was clearly determining the race, the chat flipped. At least that's how I recall it.

  • 17 1
I thought Donoghue was great. It's not his job to be the one cranking up the excitement, that's the play-by-play/main announcer and McLaughlin strikes a pretty good balance with that. He'll talk up a rider's chances a bit at the start and get enthusiastic but if the run isn't panning out and they're 5s off the pace he chills out. And the the 2nd announcer's job is to be the expert and add thoughtful details and analysis about what's going on. Donoghue was great! The best I've heard in years though was definitely when Reece Wilson did Redbull Hardline.

The irony is that an Atherton bikes, are surprisingly sort of affordable.

The Yeti SB 160 frame only costs $5000 usd. Yet the Atherton bikes AM 170 frame only costs $4462.50. Which means somehow the Atherton, which is available in 22 sizes, is somehow $500 cheaper than the yeti?

On the cheapest complete builds the Atherton is like $180 more, but comes with a Zeb Ultimate instead of a Fox 38 performance on the yeti.

It’s kind of surprising how “cheap” that is (comparing what you get) vs a comparatively much more mass market Yeti.

I mean, still too much for me. But, for a 3D printed titanium/carbon frame, it’s surprisingly normalish in its pricing.
  • 2 1
@ocnlogan: I guess the building to order keeps the prices down (relatively speaking), as they don't risk having excess stock.

How many punctures (wheel / tire issues) did Greg Minnaar alone have this year (incl. qualifying and half-final)?

How many in his career?

Probably most of all, second to Aaron Gwinn.

The two most successful, highest paid riders (at least until the French era), with the most tire issues - at least that is how it feels like.
  • 4 0
I’m thinking it’s the wheels. Most maxxis riders were fine
  • 2 3
I saw that he was riding without inserts. Maybe an error from his part if he keeps having punctures.
  • 4 3
@opignonlibre: he literally had an insert in the rear tire which we could see when he rolled down the hill though

  • 2 1
@KondziuNS: do you have a screenshot? I watched twice and didn't see any insert unless he lost it quickly.
  • 4 1
@opignonlibre: @opignonlibre: Inserts will let you finish a race sometimes, but not win it. Unless you blow out your tire in the last 100m. Running a flat tire on inserts alone is too slow. They make more sense in Enduro, where there's a hope you can gain time again on another stage, or at least salvage some points for the overall.
  • 1 0
Yeah, considering that it's a unfair curse for two riders who actually worked and developped tyres for Maxxis (Minnaar) Onza and Kenda (Gwin).
Life's a kind of bitch for them, tyre-wise.
  • 1 0
@opignonlibre: I mean Maxxis’ official stance on inserts is that their tires are “race ready without inserts” and Greg’s signature tire is literally their most popular tire so I feel they should be working with him of all people to ensure this doesn’t happen. As someone else said, it could be rim related today but I do remember some of his tire drama this year was real deal punctures.

@fartymarty: Kryptotal indeed. Considering that Ft William's track doesn't get too greasy in wet conditions and grippier than in the dry on gravely sections it makes sense.

Appalling and miserable cycle commentary on CGN+ which peaked with the “live from Glasgow” comment. FFS, Glasgow? Really? For the love of MTB bring back Warner and match him with someone like Cathro so there is humour, personality, knowledge and insight rather than that awful dross we were subjected to. While you are at it take a geography lesson and just stop all this last ever Fort William nonsense. Why would you ever get rid of THE even on the DH calendar?

Re-posting this from a previous thread:

Men's start times:
- First 50 riders start one minute apart.
- Next 9 riders start 2 minutes apart.
- Remaining riders start either 3 or 3 1/2 minutes apart.

Bottom line: There are only a few riders where you'll see the whole run, but you'll see most of the run for the last 10 or so riders to start. More than half of each field starts 1 minute apart, so you'll probably just see the start gate and then part of the final sector for those riders.
  • 1 0
I think there are 80 starting so this math gives 21 riders “full” runs

Here are my suggestions for possible changes/improvements to the World Championships.
Feel free to add your own or to tell me how stupid my suggestions are.

My suggestions for changes to the UCI Downhill World Championships:

• Move World Championships to the end of the World Cup season. It’s ridiculous to interrupt the World Cup season with what amounts to a meaningless and/or confusing “championship.” How many World Cup riders in the top 20 or 30 in points were injured this week and might have issues during the rest of the season as a result?

• Eliminate the existing “national quotas” and replace them with a quota system that’s based on each country’s percentage of riders who are in, say, the top 50 in the current year’s World Cup standings. Add in each country’s national champions in each Junior and Elite category.

• Get rid of the existing “Protected” rider list and replace it with this: “Top 5 Elite Women/Men based on current year’s World Cup standings are protected.” Add previous year’s Elite World Champs and previous year’s Junior World Champs who have aged into Elite (if any of them are not in the Top 5 of this year's standings). That’s it. Period.

• Reduce the size of the field for the finals in each class: No more of this “You paid your entry fee, so you’re in the finals” crap. It’s the World Championships, damn it: Earn your way into the finals. Each rider in the finals should get enough time on the broadcast so viewers can see more than their start gate exit and their final sector runout. This can be accomplished by reducing the number of riders in the finals without massively lengthening the broadcast.

• "Qualifying" this year was an absolute joke. Even the on-air commentary team remarked on it. So: Make the start order depend (almost) entirely on qualifying time. At least 25% of those who complete qualifying runs should start after “Protected” riders who just choose to roll out of the start gate in qualifying. They earned the privilege of being among the last down the hill. My personal preference is that Protected riders who didn’t complete qualifying runs should be the first riders down the hill. Too bad if they’re nursing some nagging aches and pains; they’ll get to sit in the Hot Seat and get plenty of air time if they’re actually in good enough condition to race in the finals.
  • 2 1
Need to be paid more too
  • 2 0
I'm not sure why you think it's a meaningless and confusing race. The riders seem to think it means something. And I don't see why it matters when it occurs. Most riders seem to giving it everything at every round of the world cup and there's been lots of injuries at those races. I think it always used to be at the end some years ago but obviously UCI now want all cycling events to be held at the same time/location which I don't think is a bad thing.
The qualifying/start order rules could be improved but haven't they always been more or less like this for champs?

I really don't know how they allocate the number of riders from different nations but I think it's great that some relative unknown and possibly crap riders are included. The world cup does not have a very diverse group of riders for various reasons ( a major one being that it's really a European cup with the odd North American or Australian race). They don't seem to have a problem getting all the riders down the hill.
  • 1 0
A lot of what you suggested would just make it more like a regular World Cup. The differences you are suggesting they change are kind of what makes a world champs different in the first place.
  • 1 0
@sino428: I've never really understood the point of a one off world champ race. IMO, the winner of the overall series should be "world champion" and get the rainbow stripes. Why does this one random race dictate who is world champion? I guess it makes it more exciting? But I never saw the worth really. Surely to all the athletes, winning the overall is much more significant than winning one race? Just seems like it would be simpler, and actually give the rainbow jersey even more worth.
  • 1 0
@leon-forfar: I can see the difference between the two as winning a series is often a different strategy than an all in one race deal. Although to us fans it just seems like another random race I don't think the riders see it that way. Its the race everyone gets most geared up for, puts the most pressure on themselves to win, etc which makes it arguably the most difficult to win.

Although its not called a World Championship, its not unusual in other sports for one big event to carry as much weight (if not more) than a series championsip. In auto racing winning the Indy 500 or the Datona 500 seems to carry as much prestige as winning the overall series. In golf any player would rather win the US Open or Masters in a given year than win an overall series.
  • 1 0
@sino428: Yea fair point. I guess there are good examples of both an overall series being the most important, and having one off races. I personally think the world champ race is unnecessary, as too many riders qualify to actual be able to properly show the runs in the live feed, and ultimately, they seem to be on tracks regularly used throughout WC seasons. I would rather see the person who was the best throughout the year get the rainbow stripes over someone who one a race one time. That's just me though.
  • 9 2
Is Lycra no longer banned? Not a lot of difference between what any of the top riders were wearing and skinsuits aside from them not being single piece…
  • 6 0
The kits have gotten more form fitting but they still are not anything like skin suits. Look at a pic of the podium. Nothing Charlie, kolb, or Greenland are wearing looks anything close to a skinsuit.
  • 6 1
FFS, Neil it’s not the snooker world champs. We don’t expect you to be to Warner but cmon man, it’s a day out at the zoo and you’re as excited as a broom left in the cupboard. And as for the UCI/GCN, putting loads of course markers and advertising hoardings on a track does not a downhill race make. Worse camera coverage than freecaster, a heli/drone shot that is as pointless as a beachball because it’s so bloody high, and commentary that would bore the pants off of the paint drying world champs. A total shitshow that is killing DH. Give me dirt magazine, Sam hill and shit tv coverage over this pile of toss. DH used to be fun, now it’s as sterile as my middle aged bawbags

At the risk of being downvoted, but: I understand that most people here are more into arguing about camera angles, commentators, starting order etc than into the race itself. Yes, Rob and Elliot were better, but at some point repeating "we miss..., where can I watch, terrible" etc is getting boring. The race itself is more exciting, even on the UCI live timing feed. Thanks.

Is it just me or is the coverage also a bit uneven how much they show different riders? I mean the gaps are so small everyone just flashes by, but I turned my back long enough to grab a glass of water, heard the commentators mention Siel van der Velden for the first time (who I hadn't yet seen either before getting up) and when I turned back she was nowhere to be seen anymore.

 @Clownshoe:

For real, the other road/track events going on that the UCI are still livestreaming only have a fraction of the viewers the MTBing did while it was still up. Their other livestreams have the same quality issues with the sound and video the MTB did so they didn't take it down just because of that.

I'm interested to know how much it cost to keep that heli in the air for the entire race, when a drone would have produced better footage. They must have wasted tens of thousands on that thing

Ive said it before - if they get rob commentating I'll pay for it... otherwise I'll just donate to tiz, keep that biz alive... and like it's 2023, surely they can figure out how to keep rain drops off the camera lens.?? like maybe a lens cover fcktards? and sack the fck who decided to add the swoosh noise to bikes landing at random spots.. duh... grumpy old man here but fck, been watching dh since freecaster days and is it really that hard? There's revenue streams other than pay per view and complicating it worldwide for viewers does them no favours, im kinda hoping it doesn't work out for corporate behind it all.. Daydream of red bull running an alternate series to UCI which might actually make sense for riders and viewers, I reckon they almost have the clout and funds to pull it off.. Im def a rob fanboy too, but he is the voice of dh to me, not being negative to those in the booth they are doing their best, but rob has lived and breathed dh his whole life and with the commentary experience to boot, just get him onboard, to me it's night and day.  The rain will make some sections more grip as it washes the slippy mud off the line . Other sections like the woods will cut up more . There are so many riders it could dry up for last group of riders but it could also continue to rain and make the woods like a ploughed field !

@chrismac70: That certainly was a hell of a run, but to be fair, there was 50 minutes of rain and 13 riders between him and Loris - they were not riding the 'same' tack.
  • 2 2
Wow what a great race. Fantastic entertainment. Came here to read all the positive comments and join in the excitement. Oops wrong forum I guess. Anyone know where all the happy mountain bikers hang out?

You can Watch for free. At least in good old Germany.
  • 1 1
UCI / YouTube just worked out what was going on. Feed just cut out on me. Can’t see it on their channel anymore… Time to load up the vpn
  • 2 0
How many Americans were able to figure out how to watch this? What a mess
  • 1 0
I'm pretty out of touch...but why didn't the winners get any bottles to pop on the podiums?! Seemed super weird without any.
  • 2 0
Are we going to see any of the top of the course?!
  • 2 0
 Spoiler: eventually
  • 2 0
wow, women so far you saw nothing. hope the top 10 are better broadcasted
  • 3 2
GCN commentary is monotonous drivel. Can barely pick out any change even when something exciting happens.
  • 3 0
@BertRoot BBC ONE HD is pretty good
  • 1 4
Agree. Neil was dreadful and so dreary
  • 3 1
Looks like a session to me need to keep Neil
  • 1 0
I am watching it in the US in Flobikes and it is painful to heard the commentary, camera angles over all are weak.
  • 2 0
 They are killing independent George!
  • 2 0
If you are in Australia you can watch for free on SBS via the app.
  • 2 1
The BBC commentator dropped "Discombobulated" during juniors !
It's going to be hard to stopp lower than that today
  • 3 0
 The horror
  • 2 0
 I like that word.
  • 1 0
Damn, thought reading through that we were headed for another Scottish world champion.
  • 2 0
 Oisin representing Gas To Flat.
  • 2 0
Hmm - no argument about which is the boss bike today - and tires
  • 2 0
 Flosports blows! Worst coverage ever!
  • 1 0
solid day for the Brits! 1st and 3rd with Atherton bikes 1st and 2nd...I call that a clean sweep!
  • 2 0
Not quite as clean as the French in Les Gets last year, both with the sweep and the lack of mud!
  • 1 0
That top speed table looks pretty irrelevant. Top speed through the slow bits probably matters more.
  • 2 0
Has Cedric been given the boot already by GCN+?
  • 6 0
 We can but hope.
  • 1 2
For me. It's foolish to spend more time, energy and risk more in more events to win a less valuable title - the World Cup. And at the same time to fight for the World Championship in one round. Pointless
  • 3 0
Wtf. It's sport. That's how it works
  • 2 2
 @singletrackjamaica:
Not Wtf. All motorsport has worked like this for much longer than the cups in cycling and hole uci shit. Lower rank - cup, smaller events, easier etc. Higher value - championship, more events, longer and harder. And now we have the results of the championships which were partly determined by the weather. A repeat of a few years ago when the champion was a guy who didn't really show anything else? Fantastically stupid this is. Yes, that's how it works here, but it doesn't mean it's clever or sensible
  • 2 0
wow that coverage was garbage. Nice run Charlie!
  • 1 2
Ya know I gotta say thanks to the UCI cuz my weekends are more efficient now that just read the results posting after it’s all said and done instead of watching the whole race!!
  • 1 0
Every time I see the rain start in a world cup, I'm imagining the riders thinking "Ahhhh^&!&^#@&^*!!!!"
  • 1 1
So f*cking pissed I couldn’t watch this in the US. First race I’ve missed in 5+ years. Couldn’t even find a goddamn pirate stream.
  • 1 0
First time in 11 years I haven't watched a World Champs. Thanks UCI and Discovery!

Even Rick wasn't told about the fake sounds lol

Theses commentators on BBC One are soooo dry and boring, it’s embarrassing to the sport !!!!
  • 2 2
jakejones4321 Totally agree, little or no knowledge of riders and bikes, it's like listening to Nigel Mansell commentating.
  • 5 1
@IRISIBIS: don't agree, Needles knows the riders and bikes, and also dropped a couple of Warners in.
  • 2 0
@richieblade: differing opinions are what makes for a forum but from a personal point of view the commentary was monotone and soulless, just too matter of fact with zero energy.
  • 1 0
@richieblade: I feel like he was told to hold back for a wider audience appeal. Referring to the new Demo as "the black prototype" or something along those lines without even mentioning it as a Specialized.
He definitely made it bearable today over the shambles of the junior coverage
  • 1 4
If you think they are bad try listening to Neil dull as on GCN
  • 2 0
 YES CHARLIE!!
  • 1 0
 Getting a tad dreich.....
  • 1 0
So in what tires are these riders on?
  • 1 0
Good result for PALAZZARI and REVELLI !!!
  • 1 0
Who were the English commentators for the GCN+ (Uk if diff) feed?
  • 1 0
 Day-bree alert!
  • 1 0
 APPLESAUCE!!!
  • 1 2
I feel with this year’s changes, coverage, racing schedules, that sadly, World Cup DH is dying.
  • 2 4
Watching on GCN+ with a UK VPN!

Ric and Gee. Gee so much better to listen to than Cedric.
  • 11 0
That’s not Gee. Sounds like Neil Donahue
  • 5 1
@jet76: ya you are right. I am a wanker and can’t tell Brit voices apart.
  • 8 1
@J4m3z420: You are right about him being better than Cedric though. Can we get Neil to do the World Cup too?
  • 1 0
Why do you need a VPN - it says USA is not blocked?
  • 2 0
@neimbc: on my phone no VPN and it doesn’t show up. On my Tablet with a Europe based VPN and it does. Flobikes has the rights in the USA.
  • 2 0
@jet76: oh man might have to pay for it. BBC has Andrew Neethling and some random boomer who has nothing to do with the sport and it's still a massive improvement over listening to Cedric lol
  • 1 0
@rad-but-also-sad: He might sound like an easy listening radio DJ, but that "random boomer" is Matt Payne, who introduced himself as a mountain biker and former racer.
  • 1 0
@boozed: oh damn I thought it was just a generic BBC sport presenter, I've heard him on other sports before and at the Olympics.
  • 2 0
@rad-but-also-sad: Yeah I wouldn't have picked it either, hah
  • 2 0
Same here - no problem with GCN+ and free trial VPN. UK commentators were just fine - I know what I'm seeing. Pleasantly surprised. Congrats to the podiums.
  • 8 0
@jet76: Neil did a great job, also Andrew Neethling was decent on BBC. Both waaaaaaaaaaay better than Cedric.

 @wbro74: Neil was so dull
  • 3 0
@boozed: He also stated that the best way to get a fast time down Fort Bill was to avoid all the rocks and slippy mud ???? not sure about his MTB claims myself
